Yes. :) Khabib and DC was, and still is, unbeatable. But there is no replacing Khabib on the Eagles/AKA team. Islam so dull. Imagine Khamzat growing into training more and more with the Dagestanis and AKA, as a side gym, that would be crazy.

I love that Cormier loves these dudes and is legit fighter who can playfully test them. I remember a time when everyone hated Daniel, now everyone loves the man, and rightfully so.
I also remember those times even though I think it was unjustified. He ran basically through the entire division at one point but never overcame JJ even though Jon was using all kinds of shit

Yeah DC hasn’t gotten as far as Volk has in terms of being a fan favorite from where he started. Nothing against DC - good dude and greater fighter and fight IQ. Sounds dumb sometimes but he is on a lot too which most fighters could not do. Most successful fighter to switch over which says something

One of the times he was trying to make weight, while people were holding the towel in front of Khazmat, he was trying to take some weight off the scale by putting his fingers/hands on the towel. In an interview with DC they both joked about it. You can probably find on YT

Its the same reason NFL teams play each team in their division twice every single year. Something different about competition against someone you know the best. Play/fight everyone, but also see how you fare against familiar competition and what, if anything, that changes. Just my two cents. I am probably biased because the fight that made me fall back in love with MMA was Jones Cormier 2 🤷
