17 Minutes of Trainspotting at L'Enfant Station / Plaza, Washington DC - CSX, Amtrak & VRE

- 17 minutes of spotting at Washington's L'Enfant Plaza and Station. This is my first proper train video from the United States, a big change of scenery compared to what I'm used to.
Nonetheless we see the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) arriving and departing, plently of Amtrak's including the Silver Star to Miami, as well as two CSX intermodal trains
Footage was filmed on Friday the 9th & Saturday the 10th of September 2022.

Nice video 📹👍🏽!! It makes me happy to see CSX finally able to run double-stacks through Washington DC. The Howard Street Tunnel in Baltimore is the only remaining obstacle to be conquered 🛤🛤

Very interesting, Virginia Railway Express are running a much mor frequent service than when I was last there. I don't know if any Amtrak actually stop any trains a L'Enfant any more, mainly a city centre stop for VRE, I think interchange with Metro. Interesting to see the dome of the Capital in the background and remember it's only a short walk from the White House! Plenty of old PRR catenary supports, big mistake to have de-electrified this route, maybe someday someone will see sense and put it back!
Some delicious EMD (and GE) sounds going on there! Funny how the MPXpresses also sounded a little like the non-turbocharged 121/141 class, that extra musical note about them.
I saw the thumbnail first without reading the title, and I thought "That doesn't look like an Iarnrod Eireann train!" :D
:D :D sure the trains over there would crash into our bridges over here!

@@RailsandSky Very few, just the subways really that have units, it's mostly push/pull for commuter services.
