Congrats on 1st silver of the year! The ETRAC has same issues on crusty iron falsing and deeper silver registering in the ferrous rage, hence it has been parked for like 3 yrs. I believe once you dive into the manticores programming you will find ferrous adjustments. No detector is perfect but I'll stick to my Whites V3I for now.
A lot of people aren't happy with the ML105's, and I'm probable in that boat myself. ML made them proprietary, and other BT headphones don't work. A lot of user have gone to the ML85's. I have a new Manticore that is still in the box, but I'm on the fence about keeping it. With the more power clams ML made, I feel mislead somewhat.
You probably didn't have the all metal mode on with the 600 so it was blocking out the iron nail out. The manticore doesn't have more power....by law all hobby detectors are limited in their power output. I can't remember the real trick they use but it's a bit misleading in the advertising. Your gripes about the non blue tooth AND battery life are the reasons I went with the Legend. Two coils, battery pack, longer life........I can use any low latency headphones I want.....it was a no brainer for me. All the companies literally rip you off on headphones.
The Legend also has the ferrous non ferrous indicator you mentioned. You can't trust those indicators. Especially in a heavy iron zone where masking occurs. You have to just dig. Honestly you're better off improving your target recovery speed than messing around trying to decide if you should dig or not. Just clean it all out. :) The old timers say "Dig every squeeker".

Nice find , Gary. Its a learning curve. If my Legend has a good signal but rings up to 60, it's rusty nails.
