Yeah but without polymerization it really blocks Jaden's fusion support cards such as fusion recovery or wroughtweiler, since they both require polymerization and a monster in the graveyard and fusion recovery specifically requires that it be a monster used in a fusion summon. And since Fusion Gate removes from play the monsters used in a fusion summon, even if polymerization somehow managed to hit the graveyard he can't just use his recovery cards to get a monster back. Blocking Polymerization really hamstrings fusion summoning back then.
@@Zulfar-bd9tc No one played fusions back in the day because all of them were trash :) The only fusion ever played pre-Glad Beasts was Cyber Twin and with Metamorphosis never by fusion summoning. Same applies with Cyber-Stein. (even if you wanted to bring out Cyber End or Blue-Eyes Ultimate)

Ironically, despite Bastion saying that he has calculated this duel to perfection, he opens it with a misplay. Had Bastion summoned Oxygeddon instead of Carboneddon on the first turn, he would have summoned Water Dragon earlier which may have defeated Jaden.
@jplays1999 Basically, if Bastion had summoned Oxygeddon in attack mode on the first turn, then Jaden would be forced to fuse in order to destroy it to deal damage to Bastion without risk, which he would not let happen. Or if Bastion summoned Oxygeddon in defence mode, Jaden would use the monster with the lowest attack in his starting hand to destroy it to ensure more damage on his next turn. That monster being Burstinatrix, which will trigger Oxygeddon's effect. Bastion would have done his Living Fossil play, reviving Oxygeddon and fused it with his two Hydrogeddons with Bonding H2O to form Water Dragon before Jaden got Bubble Shuffle and Bladedge.

He was better off with Cursed Seal. Non-Fusion area could only block fusion summoning as long as it's on the field, which unless Bastion protected it somehow, would be susceptible to S/T removal. Once gone, so is the restriction, which puts him on a clock to win before Jaden could out it. But outright blocking Polymerization from being used with cursed seal, it's permanent, and can't be circumvented, unless Jaden could counter that counter-trap right AT activation with another counter-trap.
@@saljpal3 true.....but do you really expect Bastion to NOT have TWO other copies of cursed seal, or other spell stoppers? Plus, Jaden didn't play the other fusion methods until AFTER this episode BECAUSE of how easily Polymization itself could be shut down.

Burstinatrix is a warrior monster, not a pyro. So when Oxygeddon activated its effect when Burstinatrix attacked and destroyed it, Jaden should not have taken any damage at all. Bastion, I call shenanigans.

Alas not. Skyscraper is kinda stupid in the Anime it gives all HERO monsters 1000 atk if they're weaker, not just when they attack so Clayman would have been at 1800 and Jadwn would have survived with 400lp plus then Bladedge at 2800 would have been too strong for Hyozanryu. But what if he used his Wingbeat of Giant Dragons Spell first? well that would remove Last Magnet which would bring Doom Swordsman to 0 atk and we'd still be in the same final turn. The only difference is Jaden wouldn't have 1000lp to spare to ram Wildheart into Doom Swordsman and win with Cyclone Boomerang.
Mirage has to be on the field during the standby phase to discard. Since Jaden sacrificed it with Emergency Provisions it's no longer there before the standby phase, thus no discard.
