I've been watching your videos 4 awhile now and I like them. You are informative and knowledgeable, easy to understand, thank you. PS. Keep up the rambling it keeps it lite and enjoyable thanks again
Adolescent comments to yourself was 😂 it killed me lmao. Thank you bought knives when I was 10 and didn’t know what the hell I was doing 30 years. Later you make a video and now i know. Thank you 🙏🏿 stay safe.
I bought Smith and Wesson throwing knives....never again lol. Those were my first throwing knives purchase. Big mistake. I'm a beginner obviously. Good video! Especially for a guy just getting into it!
Thx for the video. Throwing knives is a lot of fun. Me & my son pass the time at deer camp throwing. We have always enjoyed ur videos & ur state of the art balance rotation test at the end of a most knife reviews
That was an interesting point of view. After trying many knives with profiles like the ones you presented, I ended up using spikes as my favorites. Especially good for no-spin throwing.
A true master knife thrower, can throw any knife, whilst standing on any surface. I myself learned with pieces of broken kitchen blades and anything with a point that could stick. Having a set of really good knives can help you hone technique mind.
Thanks for Most awaited video , I love to Throw knife But I never use a Special throwing knives like these . They had limited use & purpose , I rather do throwing practice on my Main primary EDC knife Like SCHF 42 , Uncle Henry OR Mora.
I just bought a set at a swap meet, 3 for $5. No clue what to do with them🤦🏻♀️ Thank you for such a clear, detailed, well made video! Have a blessed day🙂
started watching videos like this for art reference but i'm starting to take an interest in this. i like the rambling btw, it shows that you're passionate about this.
Nice video - was thinking about getting into this. I’d love to see a follow up on your favorite general knives (like the Glock) that are good belt blades but also good throwers. Blessings and keep checking the balance no matter what the paperwork says 😉
A thumbtack or pushpin is Best. Try with sheetrock or Styrofoam to start. If you can successfully get a thumbtack to stick then you can get anything to stick.
Not a fan of full spin throwing because you are limited to set distances. I would suggest the military half spin for beginners. Otherwise good video man :)
have an upcoming scouting mission to WV to look at some remote lands do but.... and if possible I'd love to set some bioniculars before the trip gets too close.
Hello Brian! What size is your target and what size board did you use? Is the end grain target behind the new one a better way to go, or not worth the extra work? I'm building one for my daughter. Thank you!
The end grain target was a total failure. I spent about $50 on lumber and several hours cutting 4x4 blocks and then they shrunk as they dried out. The one I am using is just 3 pieces of 2x6 about 32” long screwed to a frame. The red circle is about the size of a paper plate.
I am by no means an expert at throwing knives but something that I have had good luck with from pocket knives to kitchen knives is to balance any knife on my finger. Pocket and kitchen knives are always heavy towards the handle. However far back down the handle away from the blade it balances out, hold the point end of the blade that far back from the end and throw it. Example: If I have a butcher knife and it balances 1.5 inches down the handle from the blade, I hold the point end 1.5 inches from the point then throw it and it will stick more than half the time so long as I don't put a lot of spin on it. If I actually practiced it, my success rate would be higher. I have to be careful as I keep my household knives razor sharp.
I disagree on your assessment of not having an edge being unimportant an edge facilitates penetration because it allows the knife to go in easier unless you're dealing with a spike type throwing device then edge will matter My two cents
Yea, it will stick a little better. But...Having an edge generally makes a knife more expensive and it also makes it easier to hurt yourself when learning.
@@SurvivalOnPurpose Yes, a diamond sharpener saves me lots. Dull "practice" blades cost less, true, & that saves you a lot,...if you can sharpen half decently better still. Also, probably pretty handy if you're forced to engage in close quarters/hand2hand melee, I'm guessing, ya? Wondering if I can convert a staff sling to throw them...hmm.' _update_ ; yes I can but it's not reliable enough for uncontemporary sling ammo.
Too sharp a knife and you are just gonna cause damage to the blade from those impacts. Chips, bent tips and such will occur, I think generally sharpness is useful but I don’t think it needs to be sharp like other knives do
@@atlanticsquib7232 agreed, too sharp but the sweet 20 something angle can cut while being toughish edge retention but it's just a perk so spikes survive it best.

I’ve been waiting for this one!!! Thanks for the info. Great video as always!

Thanks for the video. Good knowledge. I also just laughed way too hard at the "adolescent" comment at the end. I needed that.

Glad it was helpful!
Vulture blades are awesome too.
Awesome Brian ! I got 2 Sets For Christmas, The Bokers you showed & a Set Of Ken Onions from Crkt...awesome tips i will use now to learn !
Very cool!
@@SurvivalOnPurpose Thank You My Friend Appreciate All You Do ! 🙏
Hey Brian, you should look into the no spin and low spin techniques that Jason Johnson uses, it's more of a "combat" throwing style than a show style.
Nice knives. Very helpful thanks Brian!
Any time!

Thank you. How do you figure out the center point of a knife?
Center point- with a ruler. Balance point- just balance it on your finger.
Great video love the black knives

Have fun!
Can u give me one h can ship it pls I rlly need one
One of the best tip videos by far unless you include Celadin or TomTom.
Thanks Brian! Good information!

Genius Stats on the knifes 💪🔪❤️😎👍
Good video, thanks for sharing , God bless !

You should try flat wood drill, 14mm are the best for no spin throwing, and they are extremly cheap
But then it would be drill bit throwing, not knife throwing ;-)
Thank you
You're welcome

@@SurvivalOnPurpose Just like that lol. My bad, dunno how I missed that one. Thanks.
No need to wait :) just find a log and start throwing. Preferably with something heavier like MR said. Have fun! :)

Try the new Vulture Blades knives from ETSY!
maybe I will
👍
I see a lot of familiar knives on there. Throwing knifes has gotten a lot more popular recently…. My knife throwing videos don’t get much traffic…
Can we see some no spin throws with the same knives as they look really good for that
I am still working on that
Survival with purpose...I can't do with a target ATM...but I practice today d
Just got some S&W knives. Great for if zombies are around…
Save your adolescent comments for someone else. I laughed so hard at that 😂😂
I like pillows. My Dr says im not to play with sharp things.
The odds in your favor;
My hunger games phase 👁👄👁
Also I’d like to thank you for helping me learn ✨
Good luck finding the Glock knife without the saw back spine for less than $70 . You can find the one with the saw for $35- $40 very easily.

The strij didn't hit right. Playing back videos helps check what you're doing... Good advice though
Throwing Knives; The most under-rated skill. The most over-rated Self-Defense technique.
Hell Yeah 💪🔪❤️👍
I was going to get the ka-bar ones but it says they come unsharpened that's stupid
Real throwing knifes should be not sharp...
It's just the tips that need sharpening really
A spinning knife is a useless knife. Unless you know the exact range you are going to miss the stick 50 percent of the time.
So throw two knives
So my question is why would an expert thrower use an expert knife? Do they have an advantage that the beginner knives don’t have?
It’s not so much an “expert” knife but some knives are definitely made better and easier to throw and get to stick.
I disagree on your assessment of not having an edge being unimportant an edge facilitates penetration because it allows the knife to go in easier unless you're dealing with a spike type throwing device then edge will matter My two cents

Why throw knives!?
Throwing spoons don't stick! 😂
My brother could throw axes over hand under hand sideways, any knife any moving target or distance, kitchen knifes anything..
could?
