As a lakers fan, trading for a 36 year old Jimmy Butler is not something I want our organisation to do. Traditionally, putting non-shooters around LeBron has not made us better (like Westbrook) not that Jimmy is “bad” shooter but I don’t believe he is an elite shooter by any means, I hate the idea of trading for someone who is old, making $48 mill this season, and doesn’t make our team better at the price of our two firsts and three of our current starters
U guys should probably blow it up. Lakers have very little draft capital and no roster depth. Any blockbuster trade would leave them with a super front loaded team and no bench what so ever.
Guys like the Thompson twins are prime examples of players you should value the eye test over the stats. They are not only young and have to work on their shots, which make them more inconsistent statistically. But the things they do excel at are largely not statistical.

As a Spurs fan, there's no way we give up assets for an average starter like White. They already have Vessell to put up an efficient 18 ppg as a starting shooting guard, and Castle should be a permanent starter by next year. Two firsts and 3 years of Keldon Johnson on a reasonable contract for 2 years of White is crazy to me since it wouldn't move the needle.
@bryantgarcia2925 Where would you place him? I'm guessing a plus starter then, or even better? What do you think his best strengths are, and how would he be worth as much as that haul to the Spurs?
@jacobfuc827 We have Champagne, Sochan, Barnes, Johnson, and perhaps even some of Castle at forward. I think the issue is that we need a really good scoring forward who can also defend at a solid level, and each of our current guys are quite at that level. It's time for them to consolidate different players and draft picks into someone really good to support Wemby, who's at least somewhat on the age timeline of our current core.
8:14 I hate him saying second round picks “don’t matter” we’re at an all time high in second round pick being SOLID players. Yes 99% of second round picks don’t become stars but a lot of players become solid role players, sending Coby white for 1 first and 2 seconds isn’t the worse offer 🤷
coby white for a mid FRP and a few seconds is a bad offer. keldon isnt even in the spurs future plan. also its the NBA, most second round picks end up not getting any playing time so why would they give their more promising players away for unwanted assets
@ honestly the comment was mainly about the 2nd round picks, the trade isn’t great and I probably wouldn’t take it if I were the bulls. But I mainly wanted to say that 2nd round picks shouldn’t be just throw ins and people forget about it, there’s a lot of 2nd round picks that are solid role players

in a vacuum Lavine is much better fit but the contract and injury history are a no no. plus id rather see Lavine actually go compete somewhere not just make a lateral move lol

As for the Detroit situation, Cade and Ausar work really well together, they just haven’t played together a lot this season, and it didn’t help that one of the times was during the blowout with the Jazz. Cade is really good at finding lobs opportunities for Ausar, and Ausar can relieve the pressure off of Cade on the defensive end which helps Cade conserve his energy.
I watched the full Detroit vs Phoenix and Detroit vs Lakers games this week. These were my first full pistons games in the Cade era but I’m not trading Ivey for Lavine. To be fair I haven’t watch Lee any full bullas games this season but if Zach didn’t magically turn into an MVP canidate, Iveys too good to move. @ Ivey is iffy, he is inconsistent, he’ll have stretches where he can score and get you 20 ppg and there are others where he struggles to stay on the floor. If he’s not scoring then he’s not doing much for the team. He’s looked great the past couple of games, but okay as a whole

The one NBA player I want to see get traded more than any other is DeRozan. His fit in Sac is atrocious. There's only 2 teams I could think of that could maybe make a play for him and that's the Warriors and the Grizzlies. The warriors also have too much depth and not enough top end talent rn so it would help with that too. Warriors starters would be Curry, Lavine, Wiggins, Draymond, TJD and their bench would be Schroeder, Heild, Moody, Waters, Looney and GPII They'd be underside but way better balanced offensivley
Dude they could have traded CP3's expiring contract+ salary fillers for Lavine over the off season 😂 But they would have been over the first apron, they wouldn't have gotten the right to use their mid level exception( meaning no Melton-- no Shroder). Also that sign and trade doesn't work like that. Whatever Kuminga is signed for this season doesn't apply(salary wise) till next season.
