The V12 in the 65 has more displacement than in the SL600 (SL600 = 5.5 liter) (Sl65 = 6 liter) So yeah its not a slightly tuned SL600, its a massive difference.And with the new Michelin tires this thing can finally put the power on the ground. And destroys many newer cars. Way faster than people think with new tire technology.
Maybe the best convertible ever made. Even among SL's. Aerodynamically it's exquisitely refined beyond anything today. Mercedes cannot even produce this car now so it's appreciating nicely. People remember the R230 SL55 was Steve Jobs daily vehicle when he was crafting the iPhone.
Yeah, I feel like R230 doesn’t get the love it deserves. It’s timeless yet elegant design was just out of this world. I’m honestly more of a BMW guy, but I’m still in tears of how amazing this car is. It’s unfortunate to think the SL will never get that special feeling it once had..
A very nice car, but it should have been detailed before the video was made. I hate to see such a nice car with all those dead leaves in the trunk. It looks to me like this car has been neglected, if not abused.
