I lot of long and low. Walk, walk, walk to develop swing in the back. Soft shoulder-in to bring hind leg under and soft transitions. Short canters with knuckles on the crest to steady yourself in the forward position, so this becomes more normal for you. Put your weight down into your heals to develop natural grip with your lower leg. Trail riding is so good to develop endurance. He is chewing nicely and is relaxed with you. Seeing the different hair styles was interesting. Thank you, Matt.
OMG I absolutely love this decision!💗 My horse got really sick of dressage after a few years of just dressage competitions, flatwork schooling and the occasional hack out but only in walk. She got so fed up eventually that in the middle of a dressage test she’d just grind to a halt and pretend to go for a pee 🤦🏻♀️ It got so bad I had the vet to see her and do all kinds of tests as I thought she might have had bladder issues or liver problems. My vet basically said he thought she was just trying to tell me she was sick of doing nothing by dressage, and that I needed to vary her work. So we started going to the gallops and doing some jumping, hacking out a lot more, go to the beach. She was a totally different horse from then on and even our dressage scores improved massively! So once a month I’d just take her to a local unaffiliated showjumping competition and even just doing the novice or intermediate class once a month kept her happy and wanting to work. We were terrible at jumping, but we had fun. I can’t see a stride to save my life, and she doesn’t like to be rushed, so against the clock we’d always be last 😂 But we had so much fun. And yes, getting to go shopping for new gear was the best part 😂😂 I’m so glad Chase has the chance to go out again and do something. He’s just too gorgeous to spend his life hidden a field. You could always look into Scoot Boots for him as an alternative for shoes. They seem to be really versatile and sturdy. Some do showjumping with them too, so they can work out great for that!
I love this. I took my jumper (my passion!) and I feel like you put it well..... she just didn’t love it. It had been years since I had done dressage, but I got her a trainer, and she found what she loves! It’s so important to recognize when your horse isn’t loving what he or she is doing. Their happiness matters most! Love watching your channel!

Flat work! Flat work! And more flat work. Lengthening and shortening stride. Cavaletti . Bounces. Lots of hacking. In all the old videos of Chase trying showjumping he seemed so excited to do it and handled it so well. Having a foundation in dressage is always an asset when it comes to showjumping.
I think this awesome ! I have Ex Grand Prix horse and I know some put a lot of Dressage bells on him and I'm doing Dressage with him he was high level and came from one of the best Hunter Jumper barns in US they think he came from Europe papers no one wanted to give up . He helped a lot of young ladies get their dreams and ribbons . At 30 something he is still going and happy ! I love that you listen to your horse not many people do that its about ribbon's and winning ! You will rock what ever you do with Chase !
They tell you if you have a special bond, they tell you and you listen. Bless you for getting the message , bless you for understanding your boy. My boy gets a bit bored with dressage, so we do chicken jumps, and go out on the trail. That way he will work in his dressage, but I know when he is bored. We are not high level because we are both senior citizens. But hey we have fun.
I think there is ALWAYS a connection with your FIRST HORSE. I'm thrilled and touched that you care about his joy and maybe found something that he can love as well. I love seeing chase again. I love all your horses, but chase is what brought me here to this channel. He is gorgeous, has great character and you and him are just so in harmony. I love it and I can't wait to see chase more often
I love Chase and all of you, so beautiful! I wonder if he stands like he's broken because he does have some minor back issues...I remember the psychic talked about that...
my first horse (warmblood) had pretty shitty feet when i got her too - they would crack and chip off and in the winter couldnt really keep her shoes on. She also hated getting shod. So we eventually let her go barefoot (a little against our farriers wishes) it took about a year untill she wasnt sore on everythting but dirt/grass, but it was eventually worth it. She has extreamly healthy and strong hooves now (at 5-6 years on) She gets an omega 3 supliment and a basic vitamin supliment along with her hay, and i think that really helps with the coat and hooves. but hooves can take a while to 'get good' after getting barefoot because the whole shape of the hoof (and the nail damege) has to grow out wich can take months if not a year or two.
So great to see Chase again! I'm also looking forward to more content from your home arena and maybe some fun challenges. It was also really sweet to see the doggy again, even if it was just for a short moment in the background

Love the bonds with your horse reminds me of mine I had to sale for him to have what he needed broke my heart. When you bond you bond hard with them and they bond with you! There such smart creatures! It warmed my heart you flew with him and stayed with him the whole time shows your dedication and love for him. You such a caring owner to let him have field time and not make him board or unhappy with his work. It’s amazing if you give him your best he seems like he loves to give you his best. Keep being such a great owner to that beautiful boy! Love the opening it was so funny I’m not just gonna use him and dressage was not our calling hahaha 🤣 he has a nice wide chest on him he will make a good jumper with slow steady training. Chase is like dad no I don’t wanna be saddled lol!

He helped a lot of young ladies get their dreams and ribbons . At 30 something he is still going and happy ! I love that you listen to your horse not many people do that its about ribbon's and winning ! You will rock what ever you do with Chase !

My boy gets a bit bored with dressage, so we do chicken jumps, and go out on the trail. That way he will work in his dressage, but I know when he is bored.
We are not high level because we are both senior citizens. But hey we have fun.

I love Chase and all of you, so beautiful! I wonder if he stands like he's broken because he does have some minor back issues...I remember the psychic talked about that...
my first horse (warmblood) had pretty shitty feet when i got her too - they would crack and chip off and in the winter couldnt really keep her shoes on. She also hated getting shod. So we eventually let her go barefoot (a little against our farriers wishes) it took about a year untill she wasnt sore on everythting but dirt/grass, but it was eventually worth it. She has extreamly healthy and strong hooves now (at 5-6 years on) She gets an omega 3 supliment and a basic vitamin supliment along with her hay, and i think that really helps with the coat and hooves. but hooves can take a while to 'get good' after getting barefoot because the whole shape of the hoof (and the nail damege) has to grow out wich can take months if not a year or two.
So great to see Chase again! I'm also looking forward to more content from your home arena and maybe some fun challenges. It was also really sweet to see the doggy again, even if it was just for a short moment in the background

Love the bonds with your horse reminds me of mine I had to sale for him to have what he needed broke my heart. When you bond you bond hard with them and they bond with you! There such smart creatures! It warmed my heart you flew with him and stayed with him the whole time shows your dedication and love for him. You such a caring owner to let him have field time and not make him board or unhappy with his work. It’s amazing if you give him your best he seems like he loves to give you his best. Keep being such a great owner to that beautiful boy! Love the opening it was so funny I’m not just gonna use him and dressage was not our calling hahaha 🤣 he has a nice wide chest on him he will make a good jumper with slow steady training. Chase is like dad no I don’t wanna be saddled lol!
