Can we appreciate that the audio quality of Mark's voice hasn't changed and still gives some pro streamers a run for their money? lol CGR was so far ahead of its time, it was FROM THE FUTURE
These reviews are short, sweet and highly entertaining. Exactly what's been sorely missing from youtube review culture. Mark hails from an era where it wasn't mostly ads and "plz subscribe". Where's his Patreon? He deserves monies!
Happy to see you doing game reviews again! And I remember playing this game a lot...on the Sega Saturn! Still have Tempest X3 on the original PlayStation, which I believe this is on. Don't have a PS5 but I will have to pick up the Atari 50th Anniversary.
RUclips has become so informative and has lost its original purpose. Thank you Mark for bringing it back to its roots! You will always be my favorite RUclipsr!
I've missed your reviews Mark, glad you got the show running again Also the 2021 Atari VCS is probably one of the best ways to play the original Tempest on modern hardware imo.
The vectors, polygonal stages, music, and lasers remind me of REZ - I wonder if those folks at Sega had this game in mind in… *checks wiki,* 2001? Conceived by Tetsuya Mizuguchi in 1994? Development cycle through 2000? No way that’s a coincidence!
I'm so glad you're back on RUclips! I enjoyed CGR so much in high school and college and missed your fun and awesome reviews. Love the humor and chill vibes. The old intro music still makes me feel nostagic, as does the running bit of trying to fit modern games in old consoles XD cheers from a fellow Pittsburgher (presuming you're still located in the area!)
I had the MS-DOS version of this that had a surprisingly great Adlib rendition of the soundtrack (the original soundtrack was still usable as CD Redbook audio). Didn't look *as* nice, but the gameplay was all there and accounted for.
Just when we need him, he came back. BTW I *just* started looking up CGR stuff again two days ago. To now see you back at it is fantastic. Stick around bud.
Another brilliant game by the savant developer Jeff Minter. Forward-thinking individuals should pick up Tempest 4000 for their PCs. You can even use a rotary controller!
Welcome back Mark. You are one of my favorite You Tubers since childhood I REALLY you needed again (I'm getting sick of Clickbait Gen Z You Tubers and I'm Gen Z myself Lol)
2023: The year of CGR’s amazing return! Thanks for coming back Mark!
Better late than never!
Even if these videos are brand new, they really feel like a little slice of the old RUclips. The short length, the humor.. nostalgia, man.
I wonder if it's true that he sold his collection 🤔
2 new episodes of CGR and suddenly 2023 is looking brighter
Glad to see Classic Game Room back but I honestly miss the old intro it was so iconic
new intro for new era.
@@sinbysin666 Good to hear from you, in the new era. You ever check out a band called Gunship?
There were a few intros I don’t mind.
it's 2085, a new intro is welcoming
The future is now.
It’s so good to have you back Mark! We needed some retro gaming retrospectives from one of the chilliest personalities in the gaming community.
Can we appreciate that the audio quality of Mark's voice hasn't changed and still gives some pro streamers a run for their money? lol
CGR was so far ahead of its time, it was FROM THE FUTURE
Hell yeah i agree
I’m honestly so happy to see this channel active again!
I've missed this humor, it is the return of the king.
"That's because people today are morons."
Yes indeed.
Great video as always.
Hail Lord Karnage!
This channel suffered from an identity crisis for the last five years, but now CGR is finally back in all of its glory! 🥳
This is incredible! Thank you Mark for coming back, we’re here for it!! :)

This is so spooky. Last week, I was browsing through old CGR vids, getting nostalgic about the golden age of youtube. And then this drops!! ❤❤❤
No one does game reviews like Mark does. Thanks for coming back! I need more CGR in my YT Feed.
RUclips has become so informative and has lost its original purpose. Thank you Mark for bringing it back to its roots! You will always be my favorite RUclipsr!

Jeff Minter - the mad genius, strikes again. You really can't go wrong with any version of Tempest.
You’ll see me again for sure. I never left in the first place! Welcome back. EDF!
