As an individual that wears hearing aids, this was the most fun part as a young kid. Because after filling my ears with putty, my audiologist would give me the leftover putty and I would make balls out of them and use them as a stress reliever at times. Miss those times!

@@sarahlynn3854 Yeah tbh not as often as every other month It just depends on like if there is any gaps or any issues with the mould cos ive had it rubbing so had to get them redone but probs half a year or a year sumat like that Idk if its different in different countries tho as I am from UK

Me being partially deaf in both ears since birth, getting my ear molds for my hearing aids was pretty emotional for me, because for years I couldn't hear like everyone else could, and when I finally got my hearing aids I cried my heart out because it would mean the end of my suffering, from getting made fun of, to not being able to understand my teachers in school. So getting the ear molds for me was the best part, also because of the feeling of the mold getting put in my ear.
This makes me remember when I went for one of my dentist appointments at India's most premium govt. Hospital AIIMS. My orthodontics not only said that to me teeth size is bigger than average, she also asked her nurse to get the "elephant sized teeth brackets", while looking at me like I will be treated like that and I can't do anything about it. She said it in Hindi and back then I was 16 year old having a glimpse how life will be down the line for me here. Since then, I accepted where I live and had faced much worse situations.
Yoooo they still are using the hand mixed compound we used to have them but now we use the injectors, allows us to take a bit more time with the mould and I actually kind prefer it the hand mixed stuff gives you effectively like 15 seconds once it is in the syrringe before it hardens
Custom earbuds are the best! But make sure your ear canals are clear of any wax first - when I got mine they didn't check my ears and it caused a pretty severe inflammation all the way onto the ear drum.

New moulds every 2 months? Are they made of silicone or just really cheap polymer that they break that easily? Usually a material that needs replacing a bit more often would be thermo-elastic-poly-urethane or ThermoTec for short and that only needs to be replaced every 2 to 3 years
That is by far the most odd part of it, training new apprentices is kind of more terrifying tho you won't believe how painful it is when the cotton pad gets bumped into your ear drum
When I've got ear plugs in both ears (like good ones that let you hear exactly nothing) I forget I need to breathe to survive so this probably is not s thing I should do

For everyone asking what the impressions are for… they are all getting custom in ear monitors (IEMs) made. Think of them as the best earphones you can get. When musicians perform, they need to be able to hear themselves and other band members. Custom IEMs are the best way to achieve this, along with a good monitor engineer (which I was) to create an individual mix for each band member.
