Very proper yacht. So here is a proper question: assuming competency and experience, what is the theoretical threshold for not needing a professional crew-meaning maybe a knowledgeable couple or family? I was told many years ago around 65’ but that was decades ago and things no doubt are different today.
Fleming just came out with their 85' model, which is designed to be run by the owner. They claim that's about as large as you can go without absolutely needing a crew.
That outside ladder is a work of art in itself. A lovely little ship. Curious about the range if you drop the speed back to displacement speeds... probably 2500 miles or better.
very2 nice yacht... i love the design very2 much.. simple yet so beatiful. i dream to have this kind of yacht. excuse me sir.. may i know the price, please?
i wonder can they build a Jaccuzzi on the fly bridge? there is enough space for it... but i only wonder if that's a option when u want to buy the boat?
I am the person that complains about boats with the same decor throughout large yachts. However painting a bedroom glaring white is a bad idea in my book. If I made an offer I would reduce it by 30,000 to restore that damage.
You have to pay for well over a 100 ft yacht to get the same Engine room. You will not find nor be able to acquire the amount of wood detail from the "usual" go to yacht builders. The hull although painted (looks awesome) it is fibreglass and thus the "not found elsewhere" advantages have soon run out.
Hugo quotes the range as 1000nm, but it is not clear at what speed. Displacement speed should allow the crew to deliver the boat from the Caribbean to the Med and back for each season. The engines seem oversized, and no mention of gph at 30 knots but it must be eye watering. A 30 knot top speed doesn't really fit with this kind of luxury gentleman's yacht, 22 knots top with cruising at 14 to 16 would be plenty.
Not sure what cruising speed is, but it's designed to be plenty faster; hence have more effective range for time limited, busy people; than displacement cruisers. It's certainly not a low carbon way to vacation.
