We should start with the fundamentals: VAR is a concept. Just because it's not been implemented well now doesn't mean that's the be-all and end-all. It's a new concept which hasn't been trialled sufficiently and has since been thrown in the deep end. There's a lot of problems that needs to be addressed, but it's also helped expose some of the flaws in the game's laws and officials -- e.g. not applying the spirit of the law, or the insane handball rule (any contact to the hand in the build up of a goal counts as a handball). The most important thing is that VAR shouldn't be there to make the game perfect, but just a little better. This means that it shouldn't be intrusive or reductive to the entertainment (e.g. spending 2 minutes for a simple video review). The decisions should be made almost instantenously by the officials watching it with multiple angles in their little booth and they shouldn't look to correct anything petty or that doesn't give the offender an advantage. Next, they need to make sure that the spirit of the law is always considered when decisions are being made. That's going back to the fucking basics but it seems to have been forgotten. That's my rant over.
Well done Stan. With all you've been through and all you continue to battle; you're a true inspiration!

Although Hugo Loris made that mistake that cost them the goal, he did, also maybe win them the game ? he made 3 or 4 great saves!
