As someone that played since Beta, I have no interest in Raids or Convergences. I am in my mid 50's and a hand injury means it causes me a lot of discomfort and pain to do builds with lots of skill rotations, I hope they don't lock things behind them, I have little patience these days for added stress of party compositions and players demands and chatter. I have nothing against a good team, but they are few and far between. I do understand I am not their target audience with this update that's fine, just don't lock legendary track, I hope the rewards are skins and more of rare ingredients that can still be got via other means, just more for success of groups and off course gold, if it takes me 3 times longer to grind to get to same values needed because I don't do that content I prefer that than being forced into it or I miss out on something that wasn't stated upon purchase I needed to do to get to say Spear or backpack. I like that they are addressing WvW, before we got elite specs there was a tournament in WvW that lasted several weeks with extra rewards for best servers. Scouting back then and communicating was necessary to defend and send out smaller up to 20 player groups to flip ill defended positions but also disrupt enemy lines of people supply, it was a lot of fun. I think they could do titles that lasted 3 months as well as skins (not sure how they would implement) but it would be bragging rights for most successful alliances and guilds for a period and something others would want to have and take away from others, with maybe a run of successes being rewarded more too, say get to access to permanent skins and titles. Just an idea.
That is totally understandable! I think the new convergence will be more like a meta event and quite easy. I also think that most rewards are in the raid AND the convergence so there is no need to play hard content. However, I think some stuff is only in those and you can't get them from the open world, maybe its sellable on the TP, but I doubt that. So let's see, because in the end, we can complain or be happy, but we can't change it anyways! Regarding WvW: I think those tournaments were a really good start, but as far as I remember, they were not totally bug free and not perfect in design. Hopefully, they find a way to implement meaningful rewards like that or bring an improved version back! I think your idea are good, hopefully anet has similar solutions :) Let's see what the future brings!
@@SyrmaGaming I was in a server in WvW in that competition that got to the finals, before there were mounts and such, we got ganged up on by 2 German servers, even though not supposed to, they never entered combat with each other till they had destroyed our keeps with each of the servers attacking from different sides and avoiding combat with each other on the way to us, Anet ignored the evidence, but still I got very burned out from it and didn't play GW2 for many years. However now with alliances and working together it fits that opposing teams could form a coalition and in the spirit of the new era of WvW if they get the distribution of points as to what constitutes a win, I see it breathing fresh life into the area and I may even come back into it if thus and lead like I did many years ago, I like map strategy and helping the team rather than zerging or roaming, roamers can play their part still enjoy their little head to heads but also disrupt stragglers trying to get to their main team. We'll see.
I'm ok with not getting a new map right now since, technically, the raid might be a slightly "new" map in a way if people would think about it carefully. Now, my understanding with WvW, they're making the pack dolyaks more important with a longer respawn time which now makes escorting a bit more important. I'm looking forward to the new raid and the convergence. Cheers :)
Yes, I agree the raid is for sure a "new" map, however some people who only play open world might disagree/be unhappy with that. And regarding the dolyak change I agree as well, I discussed that in a bit more detail in my summary of the wvw live stream video :) In any case, I am also looking forward to the update and hope it will be very good!
Sure, I totally understand that. That's a big reason, why I make these news video, so everyone can stay up-to-date just by watching my channel regularly :)
Welcome to gw2. The good thing about gw2 is, that even thou it feels like it is hard to keep up, everything, really everthing you do in gw2 will move you forward. So no hurry, just enjoy the game 🙂 By watching e.g. Syrma's Videos you can start to integrate some worthy short daily routines, which might ease life a lot in future plans in gw2 😂 Cheers
I would say, you can rather clearly see that arenanet is focusing a lot on another product, which might well be GW3. I really hope though, it pays off and in the meantime we still get at least some more good content!
I wish it were true. Unfortunately it looks like GW2 is going to be around for a little while longer. Anet just released the game on the Epic gamestore, and apparently the new model is still earning them money. You give less and still get paid. Win/win for NCSoft and Anet. Hopefully the rumors about GW3 being in the works are true, though i find that unlikely as well.

I totally agree with you! I just really hope, it will happen somewhat soon :)

The stat selectable exotic gear you mentioned will it mean getting celestial exotic gear wiol no longer be a hassle?
I think you can already get that from this vendor: wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/TEID-07_Unified_Vendor_System#vendor38
cant wait for convergences and the new spear
Same :)
please... consider getting darkmode.. :D
I agree, I should change to that, it is way to bright. The problem is the GW2 website does not have that afaik :(
I bought the latest expansion. Is it only one map right now?
Janthir Wilds released with two maps: Lowland Shore and Janthir Syntri. There will be a third map, it will release in February. I hope that helps :)
Thank you. Yes that is great information. I only play like 3-4 hours per week so its hard to keep up.

Gw2 is almost dead. What an empty update. This annual model means we will never get substantial content again.
I dont read such a bullshit for a long time.
