God the bridge of this song at 3:00 is so GOOD

I’ve been playing Dave Matthews songs since I was 19 years old and I play a lot of his tunes. For those of you that play I think you would agree with me that there are a number of complex rhythm patterns throughout this song. It amazes me that he never loses his timing.

The funny thing, he has a hard time singing without his guitar, which is why in the studio, he is allowed to bring in a guitar, it just gets edited out later in the mix :) He just feels naked and uncomfortable without the guitar in his arms / hands :)

The guy that listed all of those guitar players. You may be right as far as "lead" guitar goes and solo's, but Dave is a far better "rhythm" guitar player than most anybody out there, and most guitar players would agree with that. I've been playing for 25 years and I would say that to be a great rhythm player is harder than being a soloist. The right hand(for right handed players) is so much more important and complex than the left hand, which would be the opposite of what most people would think. So, yes Dave is one of the best in the world in my opinion and I think Warren Haynes, John Mayer, Eric Clapton and most any other guitar player that knows what they're talking about would agree with me.

Anyone know this guitar? Not a Rockbridge..
Gibson acoustic that he used to use for Raised B tuning with the band for a few years.
It's a custom dread that Dave had made with Gibson, he used to use it for Oh and Alligator Pie acoustic in 2010, looks like it made a comeback!
It's beautiful. Dave's collection is so wild, it's nice to see him changing it up
