Love the FMR RNLA, you can power it from a battery so, combined with a location mixer, can use it in the field and compress your audio direct into camera ;) Great informative video as always, pal!
Unlike you Harv, I have to bring down the low end frequencies from 500 on down. Not much, but a bit. But, it's mainly due to proximity effect, since i do a lot of close mic work. And that's mainly because I record in an untreated room. -- I know. I know. lol. Nevertheless, I agree with others about your audio being excellent. (And to think all this time so many were more focused on making their videos Look good.) Great video. Thanks.
This is great stuff. I had lots of trouble since my mic is Deity D4 which sound really thin and….shrieking, I think, when used with regular mic input on computers. I just now tried to add Voice compressor block in Audio Hijack app and holy shit - what a change.
thanks for this Video. I have an Apogee Symphony and have been trying to get a good sound using the built in plugins but have yet to get it right. I am not a professional by any means and trying to get the sound right has been driving me insane for around two years now. I am going to try to emulate something similar from your settings on your hardware and replicate this into the Apogee plugins and then try to bake them in OR apply in post and see if this improves my sound. I don't want to buy Hardware as I think I have spent enough trying to get this right :) thanks again.
Many thanks, unfortunately I don’t think there’s a direct comparison in a 500 series unit from HA. You’d have to get multiple units and even then there’s no compressor unit, so I’d say the nearest option would be their HA-73 EQ Elite rack and then pair a compressor like the FMR RNC. This would be about ⅔ the price, best I can come up with! 😅
@@HarvVideoAudioStuff, you know, I was just messing around with a voiceover in nectar; just slapping presets on the file. I ended up using the “intense movie trailer” preset and when I look at the wave file after doing so, it does look the same as files with compression that I’ve seen in your video and in other videos on youtube.
Enjoy guys, hope this helps 😊
Love to hear some examples of that processing chain

I subbed. You offer a lot of value.
Many thanks 🙏🏻
I use hybrid ❤Great voice
You asked what I would like for audio. I would like something which willl increase volume if it gets too low, and decrease volume if it gets to high.
Yep that would be amazing 😂

Thanks for the info
Great music❤
Harv.....I really enjoyed this vid. Which of the Heritage 500 units most closely resembled your channel strip? Thanks!

@@HarvVideoAudioStuff Thank you!
I love it, but i can’t bring one out in the field with me😢
Harv, this video would have been nicer if you had a comparison of your voice with and without the compression.
There’s no comparison 😂
What do you think of compression and workflow of the road caster pro 2?
Compressor before eq for a clearer sound vs eq before compressor for a warmer sound seems to be true by the tone I hear.
So how much gain reduction do you do?
Does izotope have any software that does compression?
Hmm maybe within nectar? If we’re going to third party compression I’d look elsewhere tbh, fab filter etc

How much gain reduction???
It depends 💁🏻♂️
@@HarvVideoAudioStuff just for a simple talking head
Tbh I dial it in until is sounds good, but vocals are so dynamic I wouldn’t have a problem with up to -10-15 if needed 😄
