You do realize, of course, that Americans took the melody from this song (which is actually the British National Anthem) and changed the words. I much prefer "God Save the Queen" over this weak and diluted version. Hail Britannia and long live Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second.
Say what you want about the Mormons. (and a lot can be said) they have the best Choir in the world.

Without a doubt and I am neither Mormon nor American but I absolutely love them.

My Country ‘Tis of Thee (also known as “America”) is a patriotic hymn written by Samuel F. Smith in 1832, while a student at Andover Theological Seminary in Andover, Massachusetts. The melody had traveled around Europe in several variations, including “God Save the King.” Even Beethoven and Haydn had used the music in some of their own compositions.
My Country ‘Tis of Thee (America) was the lyrical result of Samuel Smith’s drive to create a national hymn for the United States. In about 30 minutes on a rainy day, he wrote the now classic anthem. The first three verses encourage and invoke national pride, while the last verse was specifically reserved as a petition to God for His continued favor and protection of the United States of America.

I love this country more than anything in this world, unfortunately I was born in india and in a poor family it would be a long and difficult journey for me to get there but I will never gonna give up till my last breath, this is the reason I still alive today coz I don't want to die on any other land I want to die on you soil!
