Update; A lot of people have rightly asked whether the machine can be used without logging in. Perhaps in the advent that AtGames servers are taken down in the future, etc... So I contacted AtGames and this was their response; "Yes it can totally be used without signing in. You can use the built in games and OTG mode to connect a Pi or PC and play games that way. You only have to log in for online play and services, as well as log in once every 5 times you power on the device to use AddOn X and CoinopsX (COX). As to if the online services go away, I don't know what we could say there. We have no intentions of shutting online capabilities down. We're very online oriented. I guess if we completely had to leave the online world, we'd have a solution that would always be to the benefit of the consumer." My view on this is that, I guess they could potentially remove the Addon/COX modes at their own discretion (if they were hit with a lawsuit for example), even if you opt out of future firmware updates. This would still allow us to plug in a Pi to the HDMI, and use CoinOPs/RetroArch via that route. BUT that's not ideal. Wow, the price on this is crazy high in your neck of the woods. In the US, this typically goes for $500-$600 (~£359-£431 when directly converted), depending on where you get it from, what's included, and if it's on sale or not. For the US price, I'd say it's a good deal, especially if you connect a PC, Raspberry Pi, or MiSTER up to it. I also looked into how much it would cost to put one together by buying the parts myself, and as someone who isn't a woodworker, the cheapest solutions with good components would cost just as much if not more than one of these at the US MSRP. And those DIY solutions wouldn't even have the spinners and trackball like this does!
They can't even make an Atari 2600 clone correctly, let alone a Genesis/Mega Drive clone. So I agree why in the hell should we waste our money on this junk?🤦
Not sure about the mini consoles but the ALU is pretty good. I've had mine for over a year and love it. If there's ever an issue with emulation or features, it's fixed within a week or two thanks to the weekly updates.
You could plug in your PS or Xbox with an HDMI cable as well as the USB link cable and play whatever you want using the cab controller and display, am I wrong? If so, then when you treat is as an arcade control board + display it isn't actually that expensive. A decent arcade joystick/controller board with a decent IPS 24" display will already run you about half the cost of this thing, then add the built in emulation hardware, cabinet and features and it's actually pretty reasonable for what it is. IMO they should make a separate model that is just that, a display and controller cabinet that you can fit your own system inside, be it a console, Pi or a PC with emulation software etc. That would probably sell really well, particularly if you can swap out the controllers with other modular ones.
On one hand, it's more than the pieces of silicon that make it up. A hypothetical homebrew RasPi solution (probably) doesn't have licensed games, and a bill of materials for the timber, monitor, RasPi etc doesn't include the time and effort you put into making it work. So I don't think "processor X is slower than processor Y" is a useful comparison. On the other hand, I agree the price tag is VERY high, even with all that in mind.
Seems pretty reasonable to me. I think most people have no idea what it actually costs to manufacture products, let alone the development, support, and services that go into it. That said - no, I wouldn’t buy one. Sorry. If I’m going to emulate, I’ll just plug in a PC, Pi, or whatever, to my wall-mounted TV and spare the floor space.
I feel quite lucky with mine. Here in Spain, for 500 euros including delivery. I got a full sized arcade cabinet, with CRT old school screen. The cabinet is an original old games cab from what looks like the early 90s. It looks a little worn but thats all part of it! Its got coin slot (though that bit isnt functioning). Its got new buttons, and a "insert coin button". I had to fix some wiring and put a new bulb in for the marquee above. Its driven by a JAMMA pandoras box 4s with 999 games. A simple games selection menu. It doesnt connect online so dont need to register any accounts etc. It feels as authentic as it gets. I love it! Its got some classics, but missing a few would nice to haves. But the ROMs are hard coded so i dont think i can change them. (at least i dont know how to). It has one single speaker which I have wired a volume control to. I think i got a good deal. I know these pandoras box's arent using licensed ROMs though.
Happy Christmas all! Yeah. At that price and build quality you can keep it. In fact anything that says “sign in” that’s supposed to retro - you can keep it. :)
It's not if you want to use the built in games or hook a pi or PC up to it using OTG mode. The login is required for any streaming service, no different than PS or Xbox. If you want to use CoinopsX or AddOn X then you have to login once every 5 power ons.
Yes, it initially makes you login as its supposed to be a "connected arcade". After my initial login, it hasn't asked me to login again. Apparently, it makes you login again if you use the build in AddOnX tool after 5 attempts, but that's not something I've really used. I've heard that if AtGames ever bring down their login services, you'll be able to bypass, but it's definitely a risk/concern in any case.
I've had mine for nearly a year. I run everything through a PC. Othere people use raspberry pi. I changed the sticks and buttons to my liking, and it was really easy. I don't regret it one bit. It's way better than any of those arcade 1up systems and not that much more expensive.
Easiest to understand review I’ve seen on Legend Ultimate. Just subscribed. One thing that’s still unclear and missing from this review...isn’t the main point of the “on the go” feature to be able to hook up a pc via hdmi and to stream games from things like stream or more power hungry modern arcade game emulators like teknoparrot running in that pc? I don’t even think you need to use the USB port, but I’m not sure.

Every single one of these nostalgia cabinets uses an LCD screen, and that kills them dead. The display is what I'm looking at the entire time, and the nostalgia illusion is shattered if it's not a CRT.
Couldn't agree more! LCD is just wrong in a cab, it wouldn't be quite so bad if it was 4:3 but even then, it'd be replaced with a CRT if it was me. I bought an original Namco cab with a 16:9 24" lcd hacked into it a couple of years ago, first thing I did was take that out and replace it with a proper 28" Hantarex Polo CRT monitor (I have loads of arcade monitors stored), like it had when it was built originally!
I would def use one of these, but the $800 and assembly and all the steps to get things working the way you want.. plus no driving wheel is tough but it’s good you can plug one in, and playing console games with an arcade joystick seems rough so maybe plugging in a controller for some games? It’s tempting but I dnno.. Maybe if I had a spare grand to spare on stuff, but who has that these days besides people not affected by the pandemic? Edit: ok the light gun plus a sensor on an arcade cabinet seems really intriguing.. point blank or other games like a real arcade would be so much fun. I hope there’s a way to attach better speakers too, just in case. It seems like there’s a lot of customization with this thing, and that’s what I like.
I've been looking for a cabinet with pre-loaded games like this - mainly because I don't want to spend a couple weekends in building one and end up spending about what this costs in parts (right now at least) - I have one on order due to arrive next week - I'm guessing I'll upgrade at least some of the controls with better stuff but we'll see.
Just want to say I love the style of your videos, really informative, funny and so comfortable to watch, I'm an old man so this is a good thing. Continue with feeling!
I'm glad they have physical volume buttons. It would be really nice if it had a dial too (dials likely fail faster than buttons, so having both would be nice) and a mute button. A mute button is nice if someone knocks on your door or your phone rings or you hear a sound that you need to pay attention to.
Ouch, in the States the retail price is $600 USD, which is ... 445 GBP today. And realistically I would buy it at one store that sells it for $500 with included bonus pinball buttons on the side. Quite a different value proposition at half the price...
It goes both ways :). I just got my c64 Maxi 3 weeks ago, and that was leased over year ago in the U.K.? Though odd. I did get my theVic20 before getting my Maxi64. And that only took 3 weeks. My c64 Maxi took months an month. But I am happy. I have both happily sitting next to each other. Now I just have to find a HDMI to CRT conversion, and hook up an old school monitor. Another great show. I brightened my day, as it did not start out great.
I looked at Christmas Gift ideas and bought the Mrs Pacman Table for my granddaughter. I really liked the idea for myself too. I remember those tables from when I was a kid with Dig Dug. I ended up buying a Mortal Kombat table to have something a little different, then got Street Fighter 2 and Terminator 2 and I have a Dig Dug Machine on the way. I'm running out of space unless I make some changes in that room. I may end up getting this all in one game as well. Not sure yet. I still like the idea of several arcade games where people can play the game of choice. If you only have on unit, people end up standing around watching one guy play or taking turns. It's also nice to have the T2 stand alone machine or to walk up and play Pacman and Galaga without having to let the machine power up 10min and sort through so many games. I can see having it as a part of the collection though.
Best part is when he put panel backwards. Idk why but I died laughing. Like someone thought that was the coolest idea and he just ripped it a new one lol
To be fair, you can find full height arcade cabinets with retro pie builds chock full of games for similar price. Saw one in a shop in Poole today in fact.

Atgames Ultimate Legends is All I need. I bought 1.0 and 1.1. I just need to add some custom graphics. Gotta get the new CoinopsX. Over 1600 arcade games. Now that is awesome. Thanks to all the people who worked on this build.
Hmm, it is interesting. My first thought was the spinner looks really nice and weighty for Arkanoid, which you of course then mentioned. Nice having the trackball as well. But for the price I'd at least want proper arcade parts for the joystick and buttons. End of the day, at this price it might be better to buy a decent nick used original arcade cab, and (as you say) hook up a Pi.
Here is the 2 main questions i have in mind - can you add games yourself or you need to pay for every game you put inside and is there actually a way to buy 1 of those in europe ?
I got the Sam's Club version that came with the Pinball Kit. In the Control Panel Test screen the Player 1 Z and C buttons trigger the Pinball-R buttons, and vice-versa. The Player 2 Z and C buttons however do not trigger the Pinball-L buttons. I replaced one at the store because of this issue, but the replacement has the same problem. Not sure if this is a known issue, or if I got two with the same defect. Anyone else notice similar issue?
@@person749 Depends on where you get it. Most places have it for $600, while Sam's Club has it for $500, and their November sale was $450. Still much less than £800, that makes it a more compelling purchase IMO.
800 pounds would be as a whole emulation-grade PC (strong CPU like a Xeon, save on everything else) that would run you games up to PS2 perfectly and enough MDF boards to build a cabinet or two lol... now then, when graphics cards are so expensive, you can go with onboard Ryzen or consumer Intel and it will still run more stuff while stuck in a cabinet lol.
As far as multicade machines go that's not excessive. I paid £700 some years ago for a full-size two player multicade machine which had one of those 60-in-1 arcade boards. At that time there simply weren't that many of those types of machines out there. I eventually spent another £200 or so upgrading the buttons and sticks and replacing the board with an old spare PC running MAME, which made it a much better machine. The TN monitor isn't amazing compared to modern IPS displays, but it's good enough. I've also added a separate USB trackball and a Spinner as add-on controllers I can use for other games. I've also imported at great expense an Arcade 1-Up Star Wars machine as can't get them in the UK (Star wars is my favorite arcade game). That's one thing a multicade can't really do, as you need the yoke controller, which just won't easily fit onto a multicade panel, so there is a place for certain Arcade 1Up machines.
As a teen, using coin ops 3 was like opening a portal to an alternate dimension, where games never went past the 16-but era. Great times were had starting up random games I’d never heard of and trying to figure out how on Earth to control them and what was mapped where on my Duke controller.
I consider the “rich” cabinet options to be more like what Prime Arcades and similar companies produce. Those are upwards of $4K USD with custom art, but people seem to love them.
23:03 Hey not sure if this is your issue but this seems to be a driver issue. "Virtual Audio Cable" is an audio driver /program that is used kind of like a digital mixer. You should make sure you don't have it installed on your PC. Should be called "Virtual Audio Cable" or "VAC". Alternatively you could check "Manage Audio Devices" in Control panel and set your default devices. I hope this information may be of some help. Edit - I just realized how old this video is and now I know this information is useless at this point.
That is cheaper than on the continent. I bought mine from France to ship to Italy before Italy had distribution. It is €899 + shipping. I love it. I even got my wife to play a little. I added a few with coinopsx.
I have the new 1.1 version with side art already applied (from liberty games) as a vinyl !! nothing to hang down the sides - so I must have the v1.11 version lol
I don't think it was expensive for the hardware and features. I have built a full sized cab and a Bartop machine, and cost wise this stacks up nicely without issues of getting everything working well.
The Megadrive Mini was built well enough that people modded it to put on your own games. Seems AtGames has learned some of those lessons to involve the community. What people will build with it might end up being more fun than the base machine.
Quite a nice looking cabinet and bigger than the 1-Up versions, you can't beat the real deal or at least a close approximation of a full sized arcade cabinet. But a Raspberry Pi 4/400 is a faster (and more widely supported software-wise) than the SoC supplied. The software setup currently seems convoluted and you are tied into their ecosystem when adding games.
OMG it has Fix-It Felix Jr? I loved playing that back in the day. Never played the original Fix-It Felix, though. (Heard it never made it out of Japan, and ROMs are hard to find.) I love how they made a whole movie about the "villain" though. Surf Wisely.
I've had the ALU for a year now and play it more than my PS4. Street Fighter V and other Steam games run great via OTG. Without a pc you can run whatever mame game, nes, snes, genesis you want with just a usb stick. I'd buy another one if I could but that money is already reserved for their vpin cab.
I see this and the One Ups at the store, and honestly they do look appealing. I think ill be better off building or buying a custom build cabinet and installing my own screen and RPI. Retropie seems all around better.
Use MDF or poplar wood to make it since it's cheap sturdy wood for arcade machines. Plans are super easy to find on the interwebs too so all you really need is like a 3 day weekend to get it done.
It saddens me you said Street Fighter II was laggy. :( For that alone, I'd wait for a newer version. Any cab I buy needs to run fighters well. I'd def remove the spinners. They 100% are in the way of good controls for fighters. Then I'd either get a second control panel for them, or use some sort of external USB paddles.
Huh so this is basically a cabinet rig with a Rpi set up to run windows or emulators on boot. I really really like the supported modding potential, even going so far to change the cabinet art (and if you wanted to can probably design your own successfully) I am not a big fan of the sound issues and Frankly with this machine it seems that when it's bad, it's really bad. A firmware update should not be that risky. I'm really into the fact that because it's basically a windows computer, you can add modules to it to basically emulate anything. You could probably build a removable control board so you can set up any rigs. I'm mostly thinking if you were to build the thing up from scratch. I really want to do that but take some cues from this machine. Maybe make @games compatible? Idk
Maybe if that was 800$ CAD but for 800 pounds that's a bit steep. That's like 1.4k here. Could get a solid gaming computer for that and build your own cabinet on top of that.
Has anyone successfully changed the OS IE installed Linux, Windows or something else over the built in AT games thing, just curious as the specs and cabinet, buttons etc isn't bad it's self but plugging in a Pi or any other hdmi device device and having cables trailing everywhere isn't something i would really enjoy, of course you can get much better solutions out there but it's still a curious thing to know.
Hi. Just found your channel while reserching this cabinet. I am not a gamer as such and hate new modern games. But do love the old ones. And am thinking the unit would luke good in my man cave. I am gratfull that you talked about weather the unit would work without a internet connection or not as I will proberly not bother with connecting it up. I did origanally look at the games coffie table on Liberty Games web site. I read that all the games have to be streemed from there web site and the unit does not come with any games. I was worried that if anything happens to Liberty Games that lets say in 10 years time if the web site goes down then the table whould be usuless. I put this to Liberty Games. They did not get back to which makes me think that I was correct. So this will be the unit for me I think. Thank You very much for the review.
I bought a broken down arcade machine for £100, stripped it out (made back £50 selling the unwanted parts) added a 19 inch Lcd, fitted a dual X-Arcade stick thingy (£70), stuck a modded PS2 and Dreamcast inside and now i can play 1000's of retro games + any PS2 or DC titles, All for under £250 and i love it. (its the machine in my avatar)
That does look very very nice and I have to admit I would like one... Justifying the price is another thing but as I'm useless at getting emulation and PIs to work correctly I suppose one could save a lot of hassle and wasted time.
16:34 the sound of the year 2020 level of technology. It would be nice if there was a way to upgrade the part of the hardware that causes the lag. I dream of the day when we can just simply plug in a device that increases speed and allow us to attach hubs to plug more in, like a USB hub for processor cores. I know. I understand that the millimeter or nanometer length that a processors data has to travel, has a huge impact on speed, and so adding plug-in hardware, especially on an extension cord that goes to a hub, would drastically reduce the speed, possibly even making it slower than without it. However, it's still a dream of mine. I just hate getting something I feel is near-perfect and just needs a little more power and after the big purchase, maybe months or years later, it would be nice to be able to make a purchase to add enough speed or storage to finally have the perfect item. . In reality, you usually are stuck with what you have or incredibly limited to what you can do. Even a desktop computer, can only be upgraded so far, until the motherboard no longer supports new hardware, requiring you to buy a new one, usually along with a new processor/fan/RAM, which is almost a completely new computer (sometimes even a new case is required).
I'm really happy with mine. The assembly process is really cool, ikea could really learn something from it. Sure I could build my own cabinet, but my time is worth more than that. I feel it's good value for money.

799! May as well source a Candy cab and repurpose it as an emulation station!
why the f**** you'd need to register/login for a physical product like that. total showstopper for me
I feel quite lucky with mine.
I know these pandoras box's arent using licensed ROMs though.
you can just remove it completely and use raspberry pi
"... unless you choose fill, which in that case, you shouldn't be watching this... please leave" - cracked up almost immediately
Happy Christmas all! Yeah. At that price and build quality you can keep it. In fact anything that says “sign in” that’s supposed to retro - you can keep it. :)
WHOA WHOA WHOA HOLD THE PHONE, logging into an account?
Is that mandatory?
Sounds like it
Came here to say the same thing. Fuck that. I am going to build my own arcade machine. With blackjack....and hookers.
It's not if you want to use the built in games or hook a pi or PC up to it using OTG mode. The login is required for any streaming service, no different than PS or Xbox. If you want to use CoinopsX or AddOn X then you have to login once every 5 power ons.
Nope.
For this amount of money I'll build one myself with like a MiSTer FPGA unit.
@@aliasmcdoe I have looked into this. The big chunk of money is in the cabinet ($75-$375) and screen ($75-$150). Gaming PC board or ARM made emulator ($50-$110) EG Starts 4 Player Classic DIY Arcade Joystick Kit, Audio amplifier, and AV board ($128 for all three) So ($350-$800) US and you can piece buy and have a better unit. if you have any wood working ability you can reduce the big ticket item by 60-80% (Common: 3/4 in. x 4 ft. x 8 ft.; Actual: 0.750 in. x 49 in. x 97 in. @@nickm9102 TELL THEM AGAIN SON
@@nickm9102 I was about to say, there's some good kits on eBay.
@Hobo - Not even a MiSTer. A Pi 4 would run better than this... Seriously, that sound stutter in SF2 is simply unacceptable.
@@jesuszamora6949 there are and as a woodworking with 25 years of experience, I can't go buy the materials and make a cabinet for as cheap(including my time) as those kits are.
1) Buy a kit
2) Buy a monitor
3) Buy controls if the kit doesn't have them
4) Buy a Pi4b
You will be FAR better off this way. Plus the quality control (units failing after just a couple months/crap warranty) makes Atgames just not worth it.
@@toddmiller5322 There are some absolutely beautiful kits out there.
You're talking about the arcade cabinet but all I can focus on is the Captain Power Powerjet XT-7 in the background. LOL
For a nugget under eight-hundred quid I want effing perfection. Nothing less.
Nah, that's eight-hundred pounds; it's about eleven-hundred bucks.
That's pounds, not dollars. In the US it sells for ~$500
My pockets are deep and my arms are short. Oh well, back to pc mame.
Samsclub has them for 469.99 shipped today, membership is basically free, cause they give you the money back.
Just want to say I love the style of your videos, really informative, funny and so comfortable to watch, I'm an old man so this is a good thing. Continue with feeling!
00:12 seconds in and Im already hypnotized by the jumper
I'm glad they have physical volume buttons. It would be really nice if it had a dial too (dials likely fail faster than buttons, so having both would be nice) and a mute button. A mute button is nice if someone knocks on your door or your phone rings or you hear a sound that you need to pay attention to.
What switches, sticks and buttons are being used? how are the sticks gated?
I really like their handheld system with the sd card slot. It was on sale for 20 bucks in a post xmas sale. I bring it with me when I travel for work.
Surprised they didn't included CS Go in the arcade cabinet.
lol! Wouldn't that be something .... :D
I've Just Ordered one. Plan to install my Gaming PC Into it and run Launchbox / Bigbox on it, via the HDMi and Blue Tooth the controllers.
Have also got my USB's setup, with the Coinopx Front ends as well.
I just havent had the time to build myself a Arcade Cabnet and this full fills and my requirements.
WHERE DID YOU GET THAT SWEATER I MUST KNOW
Having seen the price, I'm ready to brush up on my MDF cutting and painting skills.
I feel bad for that obsolete company... it might be still here somehow.
But what the hey? this might be a great concept!
LMAO. They are CRUSHING it. This product is over a year old and they have sold 100's of thousands of them already. They just did a reservation for their new pinball machine and it got got over 2000 reservations in 3 hours... at $700 a piece... lol. Multimillion dollar "obsolete" company doesn't need your pity bud. Don't feel bad
Atgames Ultimate Legends is All I need. I bought 1.0 and 1.1. I just need to add some custom graphics. Gotta get the new CoinopsX. Over 1600 arcade games. Now that is awesome. Thanks to all the people who worked on this build.
The only "but" I have is the lack of power for more advanced games. Wonder if there's any chance to upgrade the system somehow.
I only paid 499 for mine at sams club in the USA...
I have my Arcade 1UP Final Fight cabinet. That's all I need. Nothing else.
Would you say being a fellow brit its worth the extra £239 for the bitpixel marquee?
Here is the 2 main questions i have in mind - can you add games yourself or you need to pay for every game you put inside and is there actually a way to buy 1 of those in europe ?
was the genies gun sound not synced?
I got the Sam's Club version that came with the Pinball Kit. In the Control Panel Test screen the Player 1 Z and C buttons trigger the Pinball-R buttons, and vice-versa. The Player 2 Z and C buttons however do not trigger the Pinball-L buttons. I replaced one at the store because of this issue, but the replacement has the same problem. Not sure if this is a known issue, or if I got two with the same defect. Anyone else notice similar issue?
£800 for that is absolutely insane! £800! I almost fell off my chair.
It's only $550 in the US, so about $400 less.
@@person749 Depends on where you get it. Most places have it for $600, while Sam's Club has it for $500, and their November sale was $450. Still much less than £800, that makes it a more compelling purchase IMO.
800 pounds would be as a whole emulation-grade PC (strong CPU like a Xeon, save on everything else) that would run you games up to PS2 perfectly and enough MDF boards to build a cabinet or two lol... now then, when graphics cards are so expensive, you can go with onboard Ryzen or consumer Intel and it will still run more stuff while stuck in a cabinet lol.
it's almost as if you're not buying the hardware but paying for the software licenses that comes with hardware. weird.
Filling the bottom with CRTs might give it some stability. Looks like it wiggles pretty bad.
As a teen, using coin ops 3 was like opening a portal to an alternate dimension, where games never went past the 16-but era. Great times were had starting up random games I’d never heard of and trying to figure out how on Earth to control them and what was mapped where on my Duke controller.
I take it this doesn't run Crysis then...
Not natively but you could stream it. Trackball arcade Crysis... Could be fun
Crysis will run faster on my calculator than this.
How about Cyberpunk 2077? X'D
HMMMMM... maybe.
Of all the implausible devices that run _DOOM,_ I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be the one device that doesn't.
I consider the “rich” cabinet options to be more like what Prime Arcades and similar companies produce. Those are upwards of $4K USD with custom art, but people seem to love them.
Thanks for the review, and Merry Christmas / happy holiday! :)
let me ask you something.. do you keep yours powered on?? or do you turn it off after you finished playing?
What is the reliability of the unit. I've seen a couple of reviews saying that the mainboard fails after 90 days
I can't get my wifi to connect- is there any way to reset? The available networks aren't even coming up anymore. Thank you sir!!!
what are sanwa switches?
Got myself the mortal kombat arcade cabinet. Loving it so far
What people will build with it might end up being more fun than the base machine.
so how exactly did you ordered one, being that they don't ship outside US?
Quite a nice looking cabinet and bigger than the 1-Up versions, you can't beat the real deal or at least a close approximation of a full sized arcade cabinet. But a Raspberry Pi 4/400 is a faster (and more widely supported software-wise) than the SoC supplied. The software setup currently seems convoluted and you are tied into their ecosystem when adding games.
I gave up on the product with the mention of atgames but I like that it has dials and trackball.
OMG it has Fix-It Felix Jr? I loved playing that back in the day. Never played the original Fix-It Felix, though. (Heard it never made it out of Japan, and ROMs are hard to find.)
I love how they made a whole movie about the "villain" though.
Surf Wisely.
Hi Nostalgia Nerd
How can you get virtua racing mame to work i have a nivia sheild and i cant get to work properly??
Huge question; Am I able to replace the processor, or is that not an option?
Where do we get the Sonic Heroes-like Winter Sports X-Mas sweater?!
It saddens me you said Street Fighter II was laggy. :(
For that alone, I'd wait for a newer version. Any cab I buy needs to run fighters well.
I'd def remove the spinners. They 100% are in the way of good controls for fighters. Then I'd either get a second control panel for them, or use some sort of external USB paddles.
Plain side art was the right move! Well done! Thanks
Huh so this is basically a cabinet rig with a Rpi set up to run windows or emulators on boot. I really really like the supported modding potential, even going so far to change the cabinet art (and if you wanted to can probably design your own successfully)
I am not a big fan of the sound issues and Frankly with this machine it seems that when it's bad, it's really bad.
Idk
I love Wrestlefest I spent a few quid on it back in the olden days of the 90s.
It looks lovely but I for this price you would expect a faster chip inside it and more RAM.
Pleasantly surprised that it's decent. For me, I wish it had a 4:3 screen, perhaps like the ones in the 1 Up cabinets, but a bit bigger.
What’s the first person virtual boy game at 19:11?
Well, the arcade Tempest had a vertically aligned monitor. So, fitting it onto a horizontal monitor format WILL squash it.
Mame used in rear for arcade???
This is crazy isn’t it cheaper to just stalk neo geo cartridges and build a cabinet with a real crt to get the true experience?
One Neo Geo cart could be more expensive than this entire cabinet so no, not really
AtGames didn't even learn their lession, did they?
Oh, also, imagine playing TF2 with a Trackball!
That does look very very nice and I have to admit I would like one... Justifying the price is another thing but as I'm useless at getting emulation and PIs to work correctly I suppose one could save a lot of hassle and wasted time.
why did they give it a 16:9 screen???
Economies of scale make 16:9 LCD panels much cheaper than 4:3.
because the largest commercial 4:3 made these days is 19inch.
12:43 What's the name of the game between Tempest and Final Fight?
Edit: found it. It's Big Run by Jaleco.
I was expecting an eyebrow to slowly rise on the SF2 Turbo section as you turned to look into the camera - CHRISTMAS IS RUINED :)
I'm really happy with mine. The assembly process is really cool, ikea could really learn something from it. Sure I could build my own cabinet, but my time is worth more than that. I feel it's good value for money.
Anyone know the Outrun style car game at the 12:55 time?
