Apparently, I need to tell people who watch this video that there could be snakes or alligators in the water. In Florida, if there is water, there are most likely snakes or alligators. They don't mess with people for the most part, but you should still be aware of your surroundings. Our rule is never to swim in dark water. Have fun out there, but also stay safe!

Even though it was old, the house was definitely clean! We loved the porch on the river. We are having an amazing time!

Our favorite part about this place was the porch overlooking the river! It was located near Florida Caverns State Park, which was awesome to see the caves. If you look under the house, you will see the old bridge plus across the river. The house was actually moved from another location. It is very old. Have fun! 🙂

@@sarahlynn6292 it is a cute old town! Have fun! The owners were pretty nice and will tell you all about the history of the house and the bridge if you ask.

So my husband and I just treated the video. Where is the parking ? Do the owners live on site?

@sarahlynn6292 the owners are in the house next to this house. The road you go down is a dead end, and you just park there. It is really easy.

I live in marianna. It's obvious these people don't know the correct pronunciation of chipola and they don't realize that aligators and positions snakes are in the Chipola. Not wise to advise people to swim without a warning.

Well, considering I have heard different people call it something different, how is someone supposed to know the true name of the river. Your college says Chi-pol-a and other people say Chi-pola. So, which is it and why does everyone have a different name for it? I think people need to remember we all have different accents and say things differently. Also, I didn't know we had to tell people there are snakes and alligators in FL Rivers. Truthfully, I don't swim in dark water, but I have seen many people swim in it. I will make a note. The home owner said it was allowed at your own risk so we were passing along the info. 🙂
