❤️❤️❤️ drone footage. This looks like a lot more fun than digging clay in the rain. The places you cleared on previous videos are greening up. Very nice.
I loved the old photos you posted for us - I can't help hoping that some 18th century gardener (could write) and kept a diary that they'll magically find somewhere. Keeping the brush piles is a great idea. If you got rid of them the mice/rats, etc. would just go in the house. Foxes, etc. would move to the out buildings!
My father-in-law said the same thing after he retired from an active job...he accused his wife of shrinking his clothes in the laundry. I love how fine it all mulches. Good work!
Happy to work alongside you Martin. Today my role was consuming buttered ginger loaf slices and enjoying a mug of tea. And I observed that good fences DO make good neighbours.
Watching your videos is like reading a good book, I want to get to the end, but because it's so enjoyable, I don't want it to end. Awesome transformation. Love your sense of humor.
I’m amazed at how much this garden has opened up! I hope you can show us how it looks in the spring with the grass and bulbs coming up. I see you’ve found a fence too, so you’re getting to the boundaries. This has certainly been a labor of love
The garden is massive and getting better each video. I can't wait for spring when you see it come back to life .great job as always with lots of humour added.
I'm glad you think so to, I keep thinking I've found the boundaries, and then some more garden appears 😅 fortunately, I've actually found the edge now. So the real work can begin 👍🤞 I'm glad you don't mind my mad ramblings while I'm working 😂 I've a sense of humor that takes some getting used to. Thanks again 😊
You mean to tell me that there is a boundary and that you actually found it?!!! I thought we would be watching a documentary about a guy going into a backyard sporting a strap on bramble trimmer type thing and never being seen again. Hope that made you smile. It is very important to keep the habitat for winter survival especially for hibernating critters, come springtime new growth will benefit from the cycle of slug and snail damage. Bugs have a purpose too but the whole cycle depends on each other and without gardeners like you, wildlife will struggle. Hope your friend that has the other natural garden is doing better with his back now too. You definitely packed in a lot in the hours spent here xx
I can only imagine how beautiful this property is going to look next spring and summer. Wonderful job today, you got a lot done, I’m enjoying watching all this progress as it unfolds 🙌✨🙌✨🙌✨🙌
Blows my mind to think that house is older than my country! (I'm a Texan) Looks amazing! Love this series Martin. Hopefully we will get to see some video of it in the spring! Thank you for taking the time to restore something so special! God bless!
Martin, so glad the new mulching blade did so well for you. You have come so far in this garden. And as much as I enjoy seeing this garden opened up, I am very glad you left some of the brush piles for the local wildlife this winter. Thank you. Please stay safe.

I hope they will, too. It's horrible stuff. Why on earth they decided to put that compound in every sort of material is beyond me 🤯 Unfortunately, now, it costs an absolute fortune to dispose of professionally. I, too, am looking forward to spring. This place is really gonna pop ☺️

@@martinthegardenguy Oh, Alaska is on my bucket list! We do have some wildlife here for sure. I love to see different cultures, countries, so much on my list. Have a great week! 💚
We have a couple different varieties of "rambling roses" here in Indiana, USA, one of which is non-native and invasive. I have been battling them at a new property we purchased in January. I hate those buggers. I saved the native varieties. I really look forward to seeing this property in Spring and Summer, and especially seeing your rambling rose bloom. You are, by far, my favorite garden guy, Martin!! You inspire me to keep at it! LOL, your clothes shrank in the wash.... yep, mine too. You'd think all that hard work would keep the weight off. Nah!

Mornin Cowboy! I love knowing Fridays will start out right with my weekly dose of Martin and his Epic Gardening Adventures! I REALLY REALLY loved your intro, as we were taken back to 1500's (🤣) and a recap of all you have accomplished so far... so incredibly edited/filmed! Congrats on your new addition, your little devil Drone! How fun to see such sweeping overhead shots. I'm so glad you weren't decapitated, though it *would be fitting, given the garden's history. 😉 You dodged a bullet today, my friend. You have come so far in a very short time on your channel. I mean look at you go!! A long-handled shovel, a lawn mowing robot, Hand-held mini saw, a drone, and FINALLY the Oregon mulching blade. Now all you need is Battery Operated Hand Pruners! These have changed my life since I've lost hand strength, and it's so hard to use my Secateurs now. (There are so many brands on the market now, to fit any budget. I have the Milwaukee brand M12 12V Cordless Lithium-Ion Brushless Pruner Shears.) So happy that you've joined the dark side finally, though I think you will always be a traditional gardener at heart. We just need a bit of tech help as we age. Well *I* age.. I am 58. And,...you're not alone with shrinking clothes, but it's like Voldemort... I dare not speak of it!😭 I thoroughly enjoyed this one, Martin. Well, I am off to the back garden here at Dove's Nest in Lakewood, and with the chilly 40*, I doubt I'll be out long. Enjoy your weekend. Blessings from Washington State 💛🖤💛
Good morning, cowboy 😅 I like that 😂 I wish I lived in Texas, I could be a real cowboy then. Instead of an English garden gentleman 😂 There have been a few companies trying to send me some of the cordless pruners. I've put it off up to yet, but they do look fun 😁 one set, even came with an extendable pole that you fit the pruners on to, and it's help them reach further. But the ones you have are far better quality if they are made by Milwaukee 👍 great choice. Have a great weekend, and as always, thank you for the excellent comment read 👍🙏😊
@@martinthegardenguy For some reason, I doubt Texas would live up to all the U.S. hype! I will never go, myself, as it's excruciatingly hot, and there are no awesome English Gardens to tour. My favorite place to go visit is actually Lincoln City, Oregon. Wonderful beaches along the coast, Sea Lion caves, a quaint little city and, the best Casino I've ever been to, The Chinook Winds. 🎰 It is also where many of our Pool/Billiard tournaments are held. 🎱(I've not played for several years due to the dang health crap, but I go watch and live vicariously through others. Oh I miss it! ) I do have a pole extender to use with my Stihl 4" Saw, which is a handy accessory, but not one for the pruners. These things are fantastic though. I hope you can get some, and I bet you will have the same reaction as the Oregon Blade. As you expand your garden equipment, I almost imagine you showing up in a Knights garb, complete with helmet, chain mail, and your insignia on the breastplate! In one hand your Pole Trimmer and your long handled rake in the other. HAH! Well, I survived some pruning, but now I must be an American stereotype and get my HUGE, hot cup of COFFEE!!! I hope the owners have got a sit on mower as they’ll need one when all the grass grows back! Love that mulcher blade. Made it so much easier for you. Well done Martin.
I hope they get one to, when someone finally buys the place 😅 but I've a feeling I'll still be looking after it until then. It's hopefully going to be my life's garden masterpiece 😂
And, thank you for watching 😊🙏 I try to dislike the tech, but I can't 😂 some of it is simply too cool for words 😅 and I'm not getting any younger, so the extra assistance is always welcome.
Martin, I really enjoy your videos and your humor. And in watching your channel and other British gardener’s channels I’ve noticed you all drive vans. And you put your trash and cuttings in your vans. Here in America lawn care and gardeners drive trucks with trailers to house their equipment and cuttings.
Yeah, I'm aware 😁 unfortunately if we drove trucks over here, half our kit would be stolen on our first job 😂 Or at least, that's the feeling of what would happen. Touch wood, I've never had anything stolen before 🤞
I so enjoyed this episode. You made me laugh and I’m in awe of your work! That Oregon mulching blade was a great investment. I’m looking forward to the next episode.
Thanks for watching 😊 I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. The blade certainly was an investment. the only problem is, now I'm gutted that I didn't get one years ago 😂
Wow what an amazing difference!! I am so amazed by the work you did today. That Oregon Blade was epic. I know you would have worked until you achieved the same amount of work regardless however I hope that made your work there so much easier. I love that the garden has such historical history. They really did build those houses strong back in the day. I hope you are proud of what you are achieving there. What a privilege to work somewhere so old.
Oh, thank you 😊 that's mighty kind of you to say. I will probably be far more proud when it's ready for the spring. Although many of the villagers are blown away. As most have seen, the place deteriorate over the last few decades. Thanks again ☺️
So happy to see your attitude to wildlife hasn’t changed! My aptitude with the drone would be the same as my aptitude with the remote control mower,it would end up in a tree or the nest county. Excellent job but it always is🌳🌺🌹
I think our skills with robots and drones are quite similar 😂 don't forget I have the lower of a very funky editing package to cut out bits where I damage things 😂 I almost ran myself over with the robot mower. My own fault for turning off all the safety measures 😅
Loving this place. Martin you are killing it! The dates of these places are remarkable. My dryer does the same thing sometimes, however, I think the refrigerator may have something to do with as well.🤣 Be safe and God Bless you Martin ❤️🙏😎
Haha, yes, indeed. My fridge definitely needs to take some of the blame for my clothes shrinking 😅 although in truth, it's actually all my fault. But I'm working on it 😅👍 Yeah, the age of these buildings is awesome. The history is oozing out of the place. You can actually feel it when you work around such places. Thanks ☺️
Having the right tools definitely helps and that brush cutter with the Oregon blade made short shrift of the overgrowth! Were you not tempted to take that overgrown rose down much further ?? Great video too!
It must seem like an never-ending job, (but just think of how much mischief it has kept you out of), it will soon be done especially with those awesome tools you now have.
Good day Martin!! Awesome! Awesome!! Awesome!!! I loved the drone views and I can now see more of the beautiful garden! This was a fun video and it was plain to see that you were having a lot of fun as well. I always think, why not whistle and have fun while you work!! Now where have I heard that before?😂😂😉🤔 Anyway, please take care and God Bless you and your sweet family!! Sincerely, Diane from Missouri☺
Thanks Diane. I'll get some full coverage next week with the drone, and you'll be able to see the whole lot. I just needed to learn how to fly the drone first, I don't want to crash into a tree or power cable. Which happened quite a few times! 😂
Yeah, the whole lot would have been sherwood Forest. This place is located only a few miles away from The Major Oak. Which is the place Robin Hood is reputed to have lived 😂 although I think this is highly unlikely, it's a bloody good story, though.
The garden is really looking good Martin❤
You know what they say. The appliance most responsible for shrinking clothes is not the washer dryer. Its the fridge.😂
😅😂😂😂
I've never heard this one before, but I love it 😂 and I may even use it myself.
Excellent, it made me chuckle 😅 thank you.

I dare not speak of it!😭
I thoroughly enjoyed this one, Martin.
Instead of an English garden gentleman 😂
There have been a few companies trying to send me some of the cordless pruners.
Oh I miss it! )
I do have a pole extender to use with my Stihl 4" Saw, which is a handy accessory, but not one for the pruners.
(lots of sweet creamer, please) ....Guilty. 👈🤦♀☕

Thanks so much for realising you were making wildlife homeless and doing something about it! Great video.
Thanks for watching 👍 I'm glad you're a fellow wildlife enthusiast 😊
Great job Martin well done 👍
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you 😊 🙏
Martin, you are amazing.❤❤
And you'll make me get a big head 😅 but thank you very much.
It's greatly appreciated.
Looking good Martin. I've seen one of those mulching blades in action before. They save a lot of work.
I'm just wishing I'd have gotten one years ago now 😂 I'd look 10 years younger.
Great progress 😊
I love the Oregon mulching blades too nothing comes near them for getting rid of brambles.
So true 😅 I just wish I'd have gotten one years ago when everyone kept telling me to.
Super video Martin! Looking forward to the next one! ❤
Thank you 😊 🙏
Love those mulching blades. lol you’re funny ‘tech guy 🤖’ 😂 .Thanks great vid Martin x
And, thank you for watching 😊🙏
I try to dislike the tech, but I can't 😂 some of it is simply too cool for words 😅 and I'm not getting any younger, so the extra assistance is always welcome.

Здорово!нравится ваше отношение к этому месту.хозяйство интересное!спасибо.
Thank you for watching ☺️ 👍 🙏
Martin, I really enjoy your videos and your humor. And in watching your channel and other British gardener’s channels I’ve noticed you all drive vans. And you put your trash and cuttings in your vans. Here in America lawn care and gardeners drive trucks with trailers to house their equipment and cuttings.
Yeah, I'm aware 😁 unfortunately if we drove trucks over here, half our kit would be stolen on our first job 😂
Or at least, that's the feeling of what would happen. Touch wood, I've never had anything stolen before 🤞
Man, that's mulching blade just chews through everything! I need one of those!
It was amazing, wasn't it, I should have gotten one years ago 😂
Like a gardening Tyson Fury 🥊 enjoying this series - cheers
😂 Tyson, the garden guy.
Thanks for watching 👍
What a progress!
A drone! Wonderful!
Indeed, it is 😅 I just got to learn how to fly the bloody thing without crashing now 😂
Thank you for again a very enjoyable video. Seems the neverending story of Martin and the Brambles is ending anyway..... Have a nice weekend!
You to 👍🤞
Where the garden is concerned, I'm guessing I'm about halfway through the things I want to do. So plenty more to come.....I hope 😅
Thanks
Thanks again ☺️
so cool!
Great job
Мартин, ты потрясающий!❤
You are too kind 😊🙏
Very good job! You are great! I like this garden. Greetings from Poland.
Greetings Poland 🇵🇱
I'm glad you're enjoying the videos 😊👍
@@martinthegardenguy Thank You
Awesome
New van, mate! Things are looking up! Keep up the good work. Project is coming along.
Yeah, had the same thought about the chipper 😂
Haha, the old van died on me 😅 although in all honesty, I've been waiting to replace it for ages. I need more space 🤯
Brilliant Jon looking good.😊😊😊
Cheers 👍 so far, so good 😅
So happy to see your attitude to wildlife hasn’t changed!
@ The only job my husband has to do in the garden is mowing now if I could get a Landrover robot mower he might feel more inclined to do it!🌴🌺🌹
Loving this place.
But I'm working on it 😅👍
Yeah, the age of these buildings is awesome. The history is oozing out of the place. You can actually feel it when you work around such places.
Thanks ☺️
@ I’m working on it as well! The way you work, I think you’ll be fine. Looking forward to the next amazing step on that property. ❤️🙏😎
The old church, the old house and Sherwood Forest,oh and my mother in law.were about then😂.
Having the right tools definitely helps and that brush cutter with the Oregon blade made short shrift of the overgrowth! Were you not tempted to take that overgrown rose down much further ?? Great video too!
I probably will take it down more, but I'll wait for mid winter to do it 👍 I'll see how it fairs in the meantime.
It must seem like an never-ending job, (but just think of how much mischief it has kept you out of), it will soon be done especially with those awesome tools you now have.
Haha, I think you are probably right. It certainly keeps me out of trouble 😂 you know what they say about idle hands.
Sherwood Forest! I’m from the US and had no idea where you were located. Now I can look it up. Great job on this massive mess.
Yeah, the whole lot would have been sherwood Forest. This place is located only a few miles away from The Major Oak. Which is the place Robin Hood is reputed to have lived 😂 although I think this is highly unlikely, it's a bloody good story, though.
Oh no Martin......you need a proper ventilator for that🥺
