- On the playoff preview episode of Inside The Leafs, Postmedia's Rob Wong chats with Toronto Sun Maple Leafs writers Lance Hornby and Terry Koshan about what the Leafs need to do in order to beat the Bruins, players that could be x-factors for the Leafs and who they think will win the series.
At this point, might as well just support them. anything more than 4 games is a bonus! Enjoy brothers and sisters, we deserve this!!!
ALL talk , but no action in the Playoffs for the past 6 years 1 more season HISTORY
It’s that time of the year again. LOL
Leafs in 7, baby! The regular season is over and the PLAYOFFS are a new beast. Anything can happen and usually we witness a few upsets? GO LEAFS GO!!!!
I wouldn't say so too fast buddy
Bruins have the better D, PK and goaltending. Toronto went into this season with weaknesses on D and uncertainty in goal, neither of which were answered during the year. Our best players have not been our best players in the playoffs these last 8 years. They’ve all been inconsistent at different times. Leafs are going in on a 4 game losing slide and Toronto hasn’t shown the ability to reach deep down and find the guts to win since we Pat Quinn leading Mats and Cujo. We’re out in 6.
spot on.
i hate how the media talks the team up. they aren't tough. samsonov is totally unproven, or proven to let in a weak goal per game in the playoffs. the d is a shambles. reilly is nowhere near a top d-man. gio is ancient. benoit is inexperienced. on and on ...... should they beat boston and face fla they would get trounced again.
@@TheBillaro Not enough practical Leafs fans out there today. I love the Leafs and I have for decades. Now you either must have blind faith in the Buds or you’re not a real fan. It’s absolute thinking and it’s bonkers. Tampa skated us into the ground last spring and we won due to timely goals and strong goaltending. Those are things Leafs fans shouldn’t count on vs the Bruins.
I hear toronto is moving to Phoenix
What Leafs' fans (and Leafs management) fail to realize is that the playoffs are a different animal. Games are won 2-1, not 9-8! Defence is the key. Now take a look and see where the defence matches up to their opponents and speculate how they will fare. And the answer invariably is: not very well.
Fans and management are well aware. What you fail to realize, is that the Core-4 have failed in the past, been non-existant, and the Leafs had zero grit.
The sand has been increased, big-time, and if the C-4 show, there aren't too many teams that can handle their offense!
You cannot base the Leafs on history, history will tell you no C-4 and no grit...but it is there.
@@geographyinaction7814 You said, “What you fail to realize, is that the Core-4 have failed in the past, been non-existant” I realize the Leafs haven’t won a cup since 1967, over 50 years. My point is, the “C-4" haven’t performed in the past, in the playoffs. What makes you think they will perform now? They won’t! You can’t turn it on in the playoffs. Many teams try, but it doesn’t work. Bad habits are hard to overcome. Bad habits die hard! You can add all the “grit” you want to a team, but if the “C-4", whom you depend on for your scoring, are not used to playing a tight defensive game, they aren’t going to change in the playoffs. They won’t get past Boston. Boston doesn’t have to turn it on in the playoffs. They have been playing that way all year long.
Mathews - Soft, Marner - Soft, Nylander - Soft, Tavaras - Soft, O'Reilly - Soft......should i go on ?????
THE WORST in the NHL is the TURTLE , BIGGEST Pansy ever on the ice NEVER drops the gloves or hits the other player..AGAIN ALL mouth NO action
Bruins are thrilled to have a soft touch to start their playoff run
@@dwanderful1 ..The ONLY soft touch they will have is holding their NUTS after they get kicked
@@dwanderful1 Thrilled beyond belief!!
@@hockeyaddict7007 Marner, Matthews, Nylander and Tavares are all scoring points, no thier not tough but they shouldnt have to be either thier star players, thats why you have guys like Domi, Bertuzzi, McCabe, Edmundson, Benoit aint a good fighter but he wont back down either.not every team is tough.i think next year will be better when Tree can get a better goalie and defenceman.mind you this D is better than they have had in the past 7 - 8 years.
Maybe
I think they need to get those cameras a little closer.
I’m definitely not a Leaf fan I’m hoping for Boston but I think it’s gonna be a tougher series than most people are predicting
key is nylander to jumpstart this offence. he seems to be the one that really is a spark when going through the neutral zone and offensive zone entry. if he's not available for game 2, its another bruins win and i dont see this series going past 5 games.
Scary first rounder ...get your popcorn 🍿 & brewskies 😅
Best way to for TO to win the Stanley Cup is SELL THEM.
ill buy them and give all their assets to boston
Why doesn’t somebody buy a second NHL team for Toronto & build it using the Vegas model? That has more chance than the Leaf Core 4 (four forwards with $11 Million contracts) experiment. 😀
One misconception of the Bruins centers. Saying they had a step down with Bergeron and Krejci leaving would be true, but Coyle and Zacha actually have better numbers this year than the old guard last year during a record breaking regular season. Think about that. The Bruins had the greatest regular season in history with a Hall of Fame center and a Hall of Very Good center, and their replacements have done BETTER.
So while yes Bergeron and Krejci are amazing centers, they aren’t as weak down the middle as everyone thinks they are.
2:16 👻As soon as he starts talking about ghosts, one shows up above the left side of his head (our left), then floats down the left side of the screen.
Logically, it's Boston in a short series. Boston swept the season, Boston has won every playoff matchup in recent memory, Leafs played the last 4 games like anything BUT a playoff team. Emotionally, it's Toronto in 7. Last time the Leafs hoisted the Cup I was graduating high school, there were only 6 teams and only 2 rounds of playoffs. Toronto would have to do something they've NEVER done before, that is, win 16 playoff games, beat 4 playoff teams. It's unlikely but hey, the Rangers took 54 years before they did it, why can't it be Toronto's turn?
Boston in 5
Hopefully the leafs pain will be short and quick.
Well, Bruins were 4-0 and out scored the Leafs 14-7 in regular season. I don’t know why Leafs fans expect to win in playoffs. They are soft and their style is not meant for the playoffs. The Bruins way outscored their vaunted offensive this year with ease....am I missing something?
Bruins did not "way outscore" the Leafs, Leafs scored 303 goals, the Bruins scored 267.
Sure! Why not? Winning is an option for everyone.
That'll happen first Tuesday after never.
At some point - it must be statistically impossible for this Leaf Core 4 to keep on with their yearly playoff disappointments. 😀
Some point.....just not this year.
@@CoreyTourigny It is interesting… just when it happens, who knows? 😀
@@jimlangdon1947 I just don't want it to ever happen is all 😄
@@marchandsmom It happens when it happens 😀
BRUINS!!!!!
Play in the leaves in the playoffs is like a free first round. There’s not a team in the playoffs that wouldn’t want to start with playing against the Leafs. No heart no desire in with this core group. Nylander has already checked out.
I say someone does to Marchand what he did to Liligren, slew foot him 3 feet from the boards and take him out, he does it every time he feels like it and gets away with it...sorry if that sounds crass but guaranteed if he gets the opportunity to take someone out, he will do it.
Break out the rakes everyone!!!
got to hit back hard but not to get penalties. You can't play from the penalty box. Go leafs go to win. True blue here
The answer is NO
I think they can.
Nope!
Unlikely
Laffs top line will turtle vs Marchand line
we have no defense and no heart... Bruins have plenty of both... I'll be surprised if the Leafs make it to six games.
Bruins have won the last 6 series, I'd be thoroughly shocked if Leafs win the series.
Bruins in 6 😂
Yup!
one more game and its over
No
Bruins in 5 games
Samsonov HAS to put up the WALL from start to finish every game to beat THE Boston Licker and his Bruins .. REAVO has to shadow the Boston Licker and other players have to shadow Pasternak
uhhhh so u going play reeves 20 minutes a night lol
and what about patrick maroon and trent frederic them and marchand are all on different lines

Bruins in 5 or 6
I would love to see captain underpants and the leafs go down in 4 bwahahaha
Horrible defense and goalie. 4 games Boston.
Leaf's are their own worst enemy, never improves their defense or goaltending. Always praying for offense to win it for them. Defense trumps offense. Boston in 4 sweep.
Why are all your webcams like 2 inches from your face? Get some better production damn
Very generous with your inches like your wife does for you.
Leafs 4 straight wins over Bruins...
Well, you're a moron!
Leafs in 4 games
I agree!!! 4 games and then the Leafs will be hitting the golf courses once again in April!
TORONTO MAKE BELIEVES......Out in the first round. 😂😂😂
Too many pretty boys on the Leafs.
NO !
Boston plays playoff hockey leafs don't
F89k the bruins leafs in 5
Hahahahaha ya right. JT has been the biggest mistake in franchise history, if the captain doesn’t hit, fight or care why would anyone follow. He’s a chump move on from him and Marner and trade Morgan and maybe they can finally build a proper team.
Go Boston Go! Leafs Suck!
Go-lf Leafs Go-lf hahahahahahaha
No way. Bruins in 6.
Even though I'm a leafs fan. Simply put. NOOOO.
