In this video I share with you my top 10 best/favorite iris fragrances in my collection, both designer and niche.
Iris is one of my all time favorite perfume notes, being earthy, woody, powdery and buttery.

My faves: Molecule 01+ Iris for a clean iris and both Balle Rouge and Le Point G by Veronique G for a classic lipsticky iris
L'Attesa is an amazing fragrance. One of my favorites from the Masque Milano discovery set. My 35ml bottle arrives today. Looking forward to sampling them all. PLUS the Chanel fragrance you mentioned ina later video.

Great review!! Thank you!! I'm a huge fan of the iris notes in fragrances. I love that lipstick 💄, make-up smell in iris.It's sophisticated. I have Prada L'homme and I have Dior Homme Intense the original formulation. I feel sophisticated and high-quality whenever I wear it. Heck,I love floral scents too.I want to stand out in a crowd.
I have just recently gotten into iris. My favorite so far is Atelier des Ors Iris Fauve. I also like Guerlain Iris Torréfié.

Hi Joao. Great list. I also love Prada Lhomme. In as much as i should be sad that its only 9th in your list, im happy that you pointed out its longevity and thats its soapy clean even if its linear. In this case i have to say linear is good especially when you want the iris pretty much there from top to drydown. Great review. Might look into L'attesa given your description of it. Continue the great work!

I have travel sprays of Splendiris and L'Attesa and a bottle of DHI. Love them all! I'm going to need your #1 & #3 for sure. The Baruti is readily available here so I'll be checking it out soon! I feel tempted by this fragrance,now seeing for you is number 1 I will order a 5ml decant so in case then I'll go for a bottle. Was my birthday few days ago and I am trying to choose a fragrance for myself :)

Iris is one of my favorites and Florentine Iris by Zegna is a love for me. I just got a sample of Splendiris...quite beautiful. Will definitely be checking out your other choices. Cheers, João.
Great picks Joao! L'attesa sounds amazing. I like Splendiris myself, but I agree with your points; i wear it more for the violet and carrot seeds than for the iris.

Yes, Splendiris is more about those notes than iris itself, but it's still a wonderful fragrance

I ❤l’attessa. A sophisticated iris and leather scent that I believe men can wear formally. Great list. I also love molecule 01 plus Iris!

I have 4 from your list. I think I will end up buying them all haha. Your list sounds amazing your taste is impressive. I know choosing from the top 4 or 3 must be hard haha but I love the note of iris too much
Fragrance du Bois Heritage , Angelos Creations Olfactives Irida , Anatole Lebreton Incarnata , Providence Perfume Irisque , all you must try .Love all that you mentioned ! Roja Dove Great Britain is a complex fruity leather with a wide slather of orris butter .

Dior Homme Intense is my most complimented fragrance and my favorite Iris. I also have really been enjoying Ermenegildo Zegna-Florentine Iris especially during the spring.
Amazing list Joao and surprises as well! I dig iris too & really wanna try ur top 4!(numbers 3&4 shocked me and couldn't wait to see 1&2! Lol). Dior homme line got me into iris too I also like Homme Eau. I tried and enjoyed Carner Barcelona D600 and Teo Cabanel Oh La La also MFK Amyris Homme edt & extrait even if they're not the most complex. I own Gallivant Bukhara very unique orris based scent and Van Cleef & Arpels Bois d'Iris(similar to Dior Bois D'Argent which I liked a lot also). Have u tried any from Maison Violet? I have their sample set on the way. Sorry for writing a book lol I blame it on the wonderful video!😂 Thanks so much & take care Joao.

I tried a sample of iris malikhân based on your recommendation and I loved it. I like the way it opens with iris and green galbanum. Dries down to a vanilla base but not too sweet

Loved Chanel 19 from when I was in middle school. Now I know it was the Iris I fell in love with. Currently trying a decant of Iris Malikhan. Trying to figure out the longevity.
Dior Homme Parfum, I agree with you my favourite designer fragrance of all time.
I thought you were leading up to Amouage Black Iris, but no. Perhaps it wasn't released when you made this video, I don't know. But it's my current favorite Iris behind DHP. Some of your choices I've not tried, so thanks for the ideas!
I really love Infusion D’Iris- it is just so elegant- I can’t get over it. I have a slightly weird one called Sibet also which has a lot of carrot seed or iris- not really sure, and animalic, kitten type notes. At first I didn’t like it but it is growing on me..
I love iris and there are a few I want to try like that SHL that sounds really nice

I’ve had L’attesa for quite a few months now, and at first didn’t like it, too many different kinds of Iris in it. It had the lipsticky, waxy, iris which I absolutely adore but it also had a type of iris that I don’t care for much. Fortunately it doesn’t overpower the other iris notes. I’ve grown to appreciate it, and now I quite like it. Btw, I just ordered a bottle of “Dama Koupe” from Baruti today!
Have you tried Cire Trudon's "Bruma?" It's a gorgeously dusky, blousy Iris with a touch of suede. I'm in LOVE with it, it may honestly be my favorite Iris-centric fragrance I've ever smelled.
I have the Baruti sample pack, will reach for Dama Koupa tomorrow.
I've struggled a lot with iris in the past. But I've discovered 3 I really enjoy:
- Aaron Terence Hughes - Homme
- Parfum Satori - Iris Homme
- L'Orchestre Parfum - Encens Asakusa
I prefer Prada Infusion d'Iris the most
That's a fantastic soapy iris too 👌
Check out YSL Trench. It's iris, fig, ambrette and neroli. It's DHI for spring and summer imo

Among a few off your list which I'd also include (the ones I've not yet tried I certainly need to!), Velours - YSL, Feu Secret - Bruno Fazzolari, Iris Nazarena - Aedes de Venustas, Iris S.M. - Serge Lutens. Once Sebastian (Smelling Great Fragrance Reviews) adds an Iris shirt to his My Perfume T-shirt store 🤞... expect one to be sent your way ✌️
That's a list that I definitely need to explore!

L'attesa is also my favorite iris. I just wish it would stay irisy makeup like the top, it gets too woody leather on me as it dries. It's still beautiful though.
Even though the Hermès Hiris is marketed as women, you’d say it’s unisex? My wife has a blue bottle one and I really do like it (I feel a bit self-conscious about wearing it lol)

Can you tell me what other iris fragrances utilize iris in a fresh soapy way or buttery orris? I dont like dior homme intense. I dont like the makeup iris. But id love to own a nice iris/orris fragrance that is soapy and buttery.
I think you should review Iris Chypre from Elixir Attar

I have a sample of it and unfortunately I'm not very impressed with it... Great opening, with a big, full bodied iris, but falls flat and the iris fades away rather quickly... Need to test it more, I guess 😅
