@@masakazuhiruko550 even before the p*ndemic happened, musicians have been streaming live performances with no live audience? it’s fun. they can do adlibs and play around. if they perform wonderfully, that’s great! but even if they mess up, it still brings something new and interesting to the table?

@@masakazuhiruko550 I disagree, if you're an idol you should be able to sing live and dance at the same time cause that's your job. Lip syncing from debut to now isn't something I would like, like what's the point of doing the choreo and just lipsync... Just make it a live dance and don't even set the mics then. Having no audience isn't an excuse to not sing live. Another group does sing live every performance and without audience....
I think it's because they're still technically rookies in their first year. kind of a safety net for them. their encores were pretty good though!
In my opinion, sm ler them do live a few times only bcs they're new and alrd getting lotsa hate. Therefore if they make a single mistake haters will come for them which will make it worse. To conclude, it's a protection. But their live performance was too good, although ning2 was a bit shaky by the end.

All sm artist can sing.. singing is the main foundation of talents by their artist..from low to high notes..as long as you can sing... Even if you already debuted thay still having a lessons.evaluations etc.. they were very hardworking artist.. the thing is they make exemptions when it comes creating your own musics etc. . .

@@randual123 cuz SM wants that stage performances looks and sounds good mostly focus on the dance and visuals and especially in the first days of promotions, they barely let them sing like like in the stage encore and that makes me kinda sad because is a fact that girls definitely can sing live

@toddy to be honest, I don't know where YG ENT direction right now. The last I check BlackPink is still their top artists. IKON seems to be on hiatus now, Treasure seems to focus on content making now, and I haven't heard the news with Winner.
In terms of stage presence, example Blackpink, because I rarely see them perform, I don't get to see their stage presence often. Last time I remember was their Coachella performance, that was the moment I saw how strong their stage presence was. It's kind of unfortunate, we don't get to see them performing often.

Ningning: Powerful vocal, nice vibrato, has good control of her voice, and has good technique.
Winter: Angelic voice, very high pitched vocal and has good control of her vocals too.
Karina: Incredible low notes, phenomenal deep voice, unique vocals and an amazing vocalist too (an all rounder indeed!)
Giselle: In terms of vocals, I would say she has a pretty good control of her voice and has a decent vocal capabilities too. But her main strength is her high pitched raps which is kinda new to me, and it's an amazing asset.
Over all, they are all good vocalists. STAN TALENTS Y'ALL

They are, even if Ningning isn't the best main vocalist of the generation. Winter is 100% the best lead vocal, and Karina and Giselle the best sub vocals of the 4th gen. People don't talk much about it but aespa is the most skilled group in SM in terms of vocal (on average if you count every member)

they CAN sing live, they just rarely do, and on reality TV shows like Knowing bros, it's most likely that autotunes are added so that it seems even more 'perfect'. of course it's not the girls' fault, it's just that the shows, SM, and the kpop industry in general is obsessed to make everything seem 'perfect' even though the girls are genuinely talented and sing amazingly live

I know Ningning is the best vocalist in the group, but I'm allowed to like Winter's voice more, when she sings I hear someone much more confident, in next level and savage she has so demanding parts. All of them are actually great vocalists, but when you are confident you have advantages. I hope our Maknae queen can find her confidence in the future performances
She’s more confident than winter especially in the behind the scenes recording. But it’s not even about her being not confident in her voice it’s the fact that she’s aespa most bullied member , she literally got bullied for being Chinese and “ overweight “ . She’s not confident bc eveyone stripped her confidences away. But even with that being said Ningning literally always eats everyone up in these recording behind the scenes.

I view both Winter and Ningning as main vocal type singers, just with different vocal flavors. They're both given a lot of demanding parts and difficult high notes, and honestly seeing aespa for the first time all I could think was that each member seemed like an all-rounder solo/center type of level

There is no doubt they can sing LIVE. However, I want them to sing LIVE while dancing. Dont get me wrong. I have been a fan since black mamba to Savage Era but, they lip sync majority of their music shows which makes me sad because there is NO SINGLE doubt they can sing live.
From what I hear it’s just trendy for k pop groups to not have live vocals. I don’t know why Aespa is being called out specifically when it’s just a fact across the board. Like I understand that not doing live vocals for a dance, especially if it’s a hard one, because it must be so exhausting. I get that. But it can be done and groups should do live vocals if they want to. Not lip sync because everyone else is doing it. I imagine lip singing in Korea isn’t a big deal seeing that this is the case

I’ve been a kpop fan for years and I still don’t get fans’ obsession with wanting them to always sing live while dancing with very tough choreo LOL. It’s either the choreo is too boring for them or they’re doing pre record, nothing is enough. Personally for me, it’s never bothered me whether someone sings live or not especially kpop idols who work x10 harder, I’m just here for the music. No one gives a crap when Western artists lip synch.

sorry to break your lame reason for having an ok on idol not singing live on music shows but for me following kpop scene from 2nd gen until now it's a pretty big deal for me cuz this is the worst group to not even have one savage live performance except them doing encore stage and radio shows, why their great senior can sing live while doing hard choreo but when it's aespa is ok for them to lipsync? having train for years just to lipsync on stage? whats the point of debuting? f(x) and snsd sing live starting from debut and now aespa having their 3rd comeback still lipsync to their own song? what a joke

I believe these girls are amazing vocalists and can do amazing things but all of their performances with the exception of their debut has been lipsync and honestly idc about being perfect I just want to hear them sing live and do what they are meant to do! they are singers and are dancing at the same time! NO ONE should be expected to be perfect while doing so much! SM needs to let these girls show off their artistry the correct way, not by lipsync!!!

I don't think people mad about they can't sing. It's just their raw vocal never shown on their performance. It's always their autotuned performance, encore with MR, so basically they never have chance to show their raw vocals for an entire song

just wanted to point out that all the clips from the variety show were autotuned vocals. you can hear the slight metallic/tingy tone to them. but aespa is seriously talented and i wish sm would actually do more with them.
