So does anyone know if The Departed still perform CCR songs regularly? Being from Ohio I would need to make a trip to see a show and I really loved CCR

Thats pretty much all they perform now. Because 2/3 of his band is Ragweed alums, he has no problem with it. Yeah, their set list is mainly Ragweed stuff.

Wrote Cody a poem for this song:
    THE LONELY GIRL
    Hearing Cody Canada sing
    LONELY GIRL
    It moves my heart
    In sadness here
    Thinking of the flag
    That's there
    On the canola elevator
    Flying free
    Alone
    She moans in
    Helix Wind
    For someone to take
    A picture
    Identify with her
    Tall and strong
Where she should have been all along
    To remind
    Yesterday is far behind
    Have to fly into
    Another day
    Waving bye to the practice
    That plays
    On in her colors
    That girl is
    Red White and Blue
    Dancing up there for you
    Proud and not fearful
    The lonely girl
    Hears you
How you want to stand proud
But you're much much too loud
And some people don't like it
    While some others invite it
    Remember that one band
    That once came to town
Before the lonely girl up there
    Was here flying 'round
    Well it was
    THE DEPARTED
    Somehow took my heart
Fried it up in SOUL GRAVY
    The lonely girl
Will never be the same maybe
    So I go to visit
See her waving from my window
    I know she is lonely
    While she's proud
    She'll pretend to
    Not to notice
If you can't give her a wave
The band will sing her a song
    To save
    Her world from the injustice
That her America is now enslaved
    By laws quotas deficits
    Police brutality
    Can't vote on
Half the stuff is the reality
She sees it all there up above
    Waves to below
    Freedom and love
    The love of God
    Of kith and kin
    Where have we gone
    To total sin
    She's the lonely girl
    There's the whole world
    Trying to control her
    While she just wants
The band to come to warn her:
    Whether gray dirt
    Or the red dirt
    When you hit it
    It just might hurt
    To go down
    Where you can flirt
    In a song
    To the lonely girl
On the canola elevator waving on...

I used to see them growing up in Oklahoma all the time. My dads band used to play at some of the same places he did. Saw them at tumbleweeds in Stillwater Oklahoma my first time as a child and have listened to all of his stuff since then. I’m 30 now lol
