I love videos like this so much. Im a relatively new player and I put so much effort and time into making 2 brewed decks tailored to myself so specifically that im content not even buying more cards. Because of that, by extension always enjoyed watching people pulling and imagining what types of playstyles and chases more experienced players go for, so im living vicariously through you and these sets. Its very fun to watch. Its like I already have my plate of my favorite cake so im enjoying everyone else getting things they've been craving all the same
@@RipAndShip While I think it's a cool idea too many of versions look like they could be a different basic. I could see someone mistaking the autumn plains for a swamp, the summer/autumn forests could be swamp/mountain, and spring/summer swamp could forest or plains. Would be interesting to see if all the bundles are like this or if the foils set is random
@@RipAndShip It just seems like they in general are trying to push more towards Collector Boosters. Those are the only ones with full art, anime, and the critters, whilst play boosters only have a handful of alt arts, and the tiny chance of aguest showing. Now they also nerfed the odds of getting more rares in play boosters... It ain't nice, and collector boosters are still way too expensive to be worth it. Usually 1 is the same price as 4 regular boosters where I shop.
Yea it is. This will be my last purchase of new product after seeing how much they nerfed the play boosters, as far as variety, yet didn't nerf the price. I don't get to play often but love to collect and set boosters were great for that.
My #1 reason for buying bundles is ONE OF EACH BASIC LAND TREATMENT. This set split the lands up by "season" which is coll and all but I don't get one of each foil and non foil in my bundle. I'm very disappointed.
As a commander player who craves variety in his cards, I'd be very sad if I opened up this bundle. Duplicates of 3 rare cards? That's just heartbreaking. But I'm glad you liked what you got.
Awsome bundle I love Bundles! So sad, they got rid of the small box inside, it was really useful. Also sad that this set didn't get a special or gift bundle, would be such a great Christmas set for the whole family like Ixalan, will not buy duskmourn for my kid or wife.
True, but 1. We got additional dice/Box for the set we love 2. and in bundle it was cheaper than the components. For BLB my wife and I got a collector display anyways. Just happy about this set, will need to skip duskmourn because too gruesome for my family.
Lmfao I'm so happy that we have play boosters now...half as profitable as set boosters and way more expensive. Each pack is damn near the exact same as a draft booster. WotC is completely out of touch with their customers.
So just wondering. WOTC changing their policy to include a '4 day' clause which asks not to post anything until 4 days before prerelease. And they are contacting people, you might wanna be aware.
This bundle looks identical to every other one. This is Groundhog's Day just with diff art slapped on and instead of commander cards, they went hard on mostly a self contained set. Outside of prerelease and draft, no one is gonna care much about this set.
Is it me or are play boosters just bad? With so many alt arts on Collectors and such low odds of multiple rares on Play Boosters, Wizards is just trying to get more people to buy collectors.
@@RipAndShip last we played was war of the spark, prior to Covid, we stopped as wotc kept releasing stuff during the pandermic and if anything they seemed to have increased the number of releases per year. In addition there seemed to be more and more reprints. At the same time there seemed to be less and less play testing such that more and more cards were getting banned in standard upon release. I personally think wotc lost there soul, and have become far too corporate, just look at the mess that d & d is these days. I speak as a player who got into magic at antiquities and stayed with it more or less up to war of the spark. And as to the dnd dark sun was my favourite setting but with all the woke pandering they have ruined the game!
You skipped over so much. I wanted to see if you got all the seasons of the full art lands. They clearly weren't all winter but you went so fast I couldn't see if all four were there.
@@RipAndShip I'm not sure Dave ended up telling us all the details within the company, and I don't think he will. However, this whole set screams of AI art generation. No it's for 1. The set symbol is 20. Mtg d20's are spindown dice NOT randomized. The only ones that were random were for the dnd sets because it was in theme.
A lot of the “older players” feel that way. On the other hand, I love the set. It will appeal to a different audience, and this can only be good for the game. The more people play it, the better chance it has to survive in a capitalistic society.
a set geared specifically at kids every few years is probably a really good idea, also this set has a lot of keywords and mechanics, and seems more geared towards millennials who liked Redwall. IDK, I was hoping to use this set to introduce stepkids to it and it might just be complex enough that waiting for the new Not-Core set might make more sense for kiddos
It's too bad they stopped including the little square box in bundles. They are perfect for holding Commander decks and cards that need sorting.
A lot of people miss those
I miss them a lot.
They stopped including them???? I haven’t bought a bundle in a while. That’s a shame
@@owenmcclendon8699 unfortunately, yes. They stopped including them right around the switch to play boosters.
they are good for so many things. i love using them to hold the cards up in the bundle box when i dont have it loaded up
In worldwake they showed they can just do full arts in a bundle. Glad they did that here
I was glad too. I just didn't expect it so I didn't even open it. That was my mistake!
They did in BFZ and Oath, and then Assassin's Creed.
In assassins creed, all the lands with the promo were foil full arts. Sad they didnt do it again

Never played magic in my life, but I want this set so badly!
It's a fun game!
Lance, thank you as always for showcasing the bundle Spindown. That die looks amazing and can't wait to get some. Awesome set altogether.
It is an amazing die!
So, it looks like you get a foil summer version of the full art basics and a non-foil of the spring/autumn/winter full arts
Nice. I can't keep em straight haha

@@Liko_C agreed they look confusing from a mana standpoint
Missed chance to make winter lands snow covered lands damn
I'm saying I was hoping this would play well with my kaldheim deck for snow lands but nothinf at all from what I've seen
Kinda difficult to justify snow lands if the set doesn't support it as a mechanic
No snow in the set so it doesn't really make much sense to me
@wesley147208 but MH3 have snow lands and it doesn't even have it on ts mechanics
damn the play booster nerf is a bummer. i loved getting so many rares in OTJ and the booster fun was actualy fun now its just bad

im sure those basics (non-full art) also exist in the commander decks
Probably true!

@@Horrorcubus yeah you have to decide what is best. They haven't shared too much about the set yet
Was the die smaller than normal? I noticed Assassin's Creed they went small spin down.
No it was the usual large bundle spindown.

I love the land art!
Yay!

24% are better than draft boosters. They don't make the game for customers to profit , they make it for playing.
They dont make it for playing, they make it for profit… If they made them for playing they would not care about precentages.
I usually hit at least 2 mythics per bundle, surprised you often don't get any
It's just luck of the draw.
I miss set boosters they were so much better

I haven't heard of this. Passed it along to our owner and I imagine he's investigating.
Scared of everyone canceling pre orders again?

WotC is really shooting themselves in the foot. I don’t want to play Commander, bring back the damn deck builder tool kits and standard starter kits.
I prefer 40 and 60 card formats, but Commander is by far the most popular.
