      One of my best friends is (well, used to be) a moderate Republican. He feared and hated Trump during the 2016 election. Now he is 100% all in on Trump. He was relieved to see that Trump governed as a reasonable human during his four years, but the main reason for his support is the persecution that the MSM, the Ds, the "in"justice system and the deep state have put him through just because he's a DC outsider and won't play ball with them.

      @NickYankee Месяц назад

      @TheJeffSux No it's not. The DNC and Clinton campaign settled with the FEC essentially agreeing to the civil charge of mischaractarizing campaign funds. They didn't falsify business records. They mischaractarized campaign funds. They hired a company that hired Fusion GPS, similarly Republicans hired Fusion GPS to conduct opposition research on Trump as well.
      Also, Donald Trump celebrated that settlement.
      In this case, Donald Trump is claiming he did nothing wrong. Interesting that he would have thought Hillary did something wrong, if this is the same thing.
      Weird huh? In this case, Trump falsified business records in order to pay someone to conceal information that would harm his campaign. Falsification of business records in coordination with other crimes becomes a felony.
      This is very much different. But for the fool looking in, it might seem the same.

    • @NickYankee
      @NickYankee Месяц назад

      Nonsense. The FEC fine was settled based on campaign finance mischaractarizations, which is pretty common. Especially among Republicans.

I'm sorry that the "journalists" on rising are incapable of actually distinguishing between the two situations. This is not a hush money trial it is a knowingly lying in the businesses books trial.

    So this is something that people get wrong all the time about the law. Intent matters. A ton of criminal law is not only taking into consideration the act but also the intent as well as the logical expectation. So In the opposition research paid by Hillary, it was obviously a campaign donation and a depending on how they negotiated with the law and the facts of the case, they probably presented a case where its logically can be seen as a "error in reporting". On the flip side with trump, the evidence points to a calculated attempt to provide hush money and then cover it up. The fact that he divided the payments to Cohen over 20+ entries and the fact that communication was handled via encrypted channels, etc. Speak to an intent to deceive.

    • @bradleywhite6815
      @bradleywhite6815 Месяц назад +2

      This is a big difference between trump, Biden and pence when it came to confidential documents. Biden and Pence both had no problem giving up the documents when requested and were found to have done so with no evidence pointing to their intent to take and maintain custody. Trump on the other hand was requested on multiple occasions to provide documents and he intestinally tried to hold on, hide, and maintain ownership.

    • @charlessavell3641
      @charlessavell3641 Месяц назад +4

      That doesn't prove intent. Intent is an incredibly difficult thing to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. The intent has been determined in the sense we know who paid the money, we what the payments were for, and we know they were incorrectly identified, we know the moment election was the exclusive right to the stories were dropped. The amount of cope around its very high because Trumps main defense as per his lawyers opening statements is that he didn't know anything going so there fore he cant be held responsible.
