At this point we don't know that Fauci is guilty of anything other than trying to cover up that he knew anything about gain of function. I'm not sure that is a crime in itself but it seems pretty obvious that there is so much more to discover from this. At one time, it seemed very possible that China released the virus purposely. Some of the people who supposedly worked in the lab even said so. It's not even clear that China might not have been right when it said that the American intel agencies planted the release. Knowing how far they have gone to try to undermine Trump even makes that a realistic possibility. Investigations that don't have an agenda are very rare in Washington. And the chance of the investigations ever being reported and gaining legs by the insider establishment press are even less likely if it will implicate others within the Washington insider club. Transparency is apparently a virtue condemned to the past by the current deep state occupants.

Does Congress have no enforcement arm? As the executive, does the President have the power to refuse them? Do the public service unions protect the government employees from consequences for refusing?
I can see that the President has to be protected from arbitrary demands at some level. Otherwise, Congress would have people sitting at the table when the President discusses policy. But there has to be some limit to that protection from scrutiny, especially where there is suspicion of wrongdoing.

I figured that out in 2020 when I looked up gain of function research and Fauci on Google Scholar. At least three papers written or co-written by Fauci, at least one mentioning the Wuhan lab. He not only knew the truth, but he was absolutely complicit. I never understood why no one threw that evidence in his face.

In March of 2020 Dr. Francis Boyle, who wrote the US Bioterrorism Act, knew and said pretty much all of this - and more about the US patent smoke trail. He came forward at that time to declare this openly in interviews on RUclips. He was pretty much ignored by most media outlets.
