The reason you get confused with the latitudinal comparison between North America and Europe is because we have the gulf stream providing warm currents in Europe, resulting in warmer climes relative to the equivalent North American latitudes.
I know this is an old comment, but thank you! I was surprised to see that London was actually located further north than St. John in Canada, and NY was around the same level as Madrid. That was confusing. But now I get it.

well, when you think that Greenland is the 13th country by area, and it's population is equivalent to that of a small to medium size town (55992 in 2019), you can see why :D it's also the country with the lowest population density in the world, with an astonishing 0.028 people/km2

They're indipendent nations, but due to their particular situation (namely the very low population), they depend on other nations for some parts of their governing power... take Nauru for example: it's an independent nation, but it's completely dependent on Australia for basically everything. Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark just like Australia is a part of the Commonwealth. Would you say Australia is an autonomous region of the UK?

I have already seen most of the maps you've shown in this series, but they're still very interesting, and I still like to see your observations on them. And of course there are some I first saw here, like the food/income map, which I thought the same thing when analysing the map; the relevance of local income relative to the rest of the world, and the access to food, both related to the country's agricultural output and industrialization level. Around 5 years ago I almost made a RUclips channel with the same name as this, I'm glad you did instead because I don't think I would've gone anywhere with it.

In Poland, this is not the result of lower salaries because food in Poland is very cheap. This is due to the Polish tradition of hospitality according to which you always buy more food to always be enough for potential guests

Saying that you can argue over whether the mongol or British empire was bigger simply isn't true. The British empire at its height was FAR larger than the mongol empire (35.5m km2 vs 24m km2) so whether you consider control of the oceans or not Britain was the biggest.
An interesting thing about maps of world dimensions is that there is always a distortion in the size of land masses. An example of this is the comparison between Brazil and Greenland, which appear to be almost the same size on the map, but in reality, Greenland has 2,166 million km², while Brazil has 8,516 million km².

That food one doesn't show the whole picture. When your nation's monthly rent can be 1/2 of your income of coarse food is going to look "cheap".

It's the Gulf Stream, it transports the heat of the Carribean up to Europe, which makes it as warm as the US, although it's much more north.
It's weird how some of the most sparsely populated places have some of the highest housing costs.
