IDK how people can give this a thumbs down. Like to see them try to play this. Finally a solo that makes jazz look inferior to metal chops, awesome...one of the best drummers ever.
Honestly, in the editing of The Spirit Carries On, I feel like they kind of gave him the shit end of the stick and made him out to be a somewhat lacking drummer. Like, they really only highlighted his mistakes. But watching him in other videos, I am sufficiently impressed and damned well wish I had this kind of talent.
that shit was staged man!!! they already knew that Mangini would be the drummer for dt ruclips.net/video/6q1KkuiJljQ/видео.html&ab_channel=MrOnlineDrumsTV
Incredible performance, Priester is a phenomenal drummer and definately does not get the recognition and respects he deserves. Serious thumbs up for this performance.
just when I think he's only a one trick pony, he pulls out a monster drum performance like this, making a circus song sound bad ass. wow, I love this guy.
the guys at those auditions were basically the best out of the entire world. i only know about aquiles because of the auditions, and i'm sure thats true of a lot of people. pretty easy for us all to see he is a beast and a highly creative guy. :]
i agree with you, its sorta like how in a reality show they always make one person that bad guy ya know? they just made him out to be the lacking drummer even though he is clearly amazing!
@metallifukinca Dude. He's playing with a metronome. He starts the metronome with the backing track so he gets at least two bars before the song starts to play so he's ready. He's not using triggers of any sorts to make the music play. He's using a metronome, and just playing along to the backing track.
Ele tiraria as músicas do Slipknot facilmente.
Even though I dislike Mapex & for the most part Paiste, Aquiles is a good drummer and had some great talent, fitting with the music well, @ the same time is was somewhat complex and awesome to listen to. If he played with Pearl and zildjian it may have even sounded better!!!
I'm a huge fan of Lang and Marco, they were both amazing playing with them but I wouldn't have been able to listen to either drummer from then on if they got in so I'm very glad that didn't happen
Huh?? Just off the top of my head: Steve Smith, Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Phil Collins, Karen Carpenter (look on my channel for proof, and she's singing, too), Jeff Porcaro (Toto, Africa, Roseanna*), Bernard Purdie ("Home at Last" Steely Dan*), Kenny Aronoff ("Sunglasses at Night" from the 80's using Simmons "V-drums", John Fogarty, and the movie "Danny Collins")...Danny Seraphine (Chicago's hits period, specifically mentioned by Buddy Rich), Louie Bellson (Soul on Top with James Brown), Michael Shrieve (Santana, at Woodstock), John Bonham, and....maybe look into some online drum lessons. I'll help you. Grab a Sakae Pac-D kit for about 544.00 and some cymbals and we'll talk. There's opinions, then there's facts. To say a Ford can outrun a Ferrari is NOT a fact. :) Opinions need to be based in reality.Don Henley, Hotel California. Levon Helms (that gets you his daughter, Amy Helms, and Susan Tedeshi of Tedeshi Trucks (GREAT voices on these two). Tedeshi Trucks is a rare two-drummer setup (like Phil Collins) and they are using Sakae, also rare. A very nice, generally inexpensive, tough, shockingly boomy kit. Pac-D DOES need better heads, Remo coated Ambassadors work well. *Yes, drum things need footnotes: The Toto/Roseanna half shuffle from Jeff Porcaro was mooched (he said it) from Zeppelin's "Fool in the Rain" and Bernard Purdie's "Home at last" with Steely Dan. Drummers are so cool, we mooch off each other all the time, and they're so cool, they don't even care. OH! Nick Mason, Pink Floyd. A big personal favorite. I like rhythmic players that sound easy to play. Bernard Purdie is nowhere near as fast or complex as Danny Seraphine, but I like his feel. And he's close to the most recorded drummer ever. Or you can compare Buddy to Gene Krupa and Louie Bellson. Buddy's ridiculously complex. People liked Krupa and Bellson because you can follow them. It kinda sounds like you could go home and play it. Danny Seraphine has a great story here: "The Hairpiece that Saved my Life." He's a very nice man. And I'll also recommend Buddy Rich's snare drum book, forget the overpriced and incomprehensible dvd, Tim Weimer's snare drum dvd, and just for fun Carmine Appice's Classic Rock Drum solos. His stories are excellent. He knew all the guys on the video. And drum-wise, I'm still not into him yet. I've bought most of these, and I get bored in about 5 minutes with almost all of them...you could do "Toto live in Amsterdam" (NOT Porcaro, he's dead by then*). Rush in Rio buy it for "One Little Victory" and turn it UP. *the drummer, a Porcaro brother, I thought, makes a funky (BAD) mistake on Africa, but it's very cool anyway. Another example, Bonham's tech did a video, Trust Your Ears. They set up kits just like he had, and NONE of them sounded anything like JB. So, feel is everything. We're moving into a place where double bass and flailing (not that he's doing that, but it's everywhere) matter, and not feel.
IDK how people can give this a thumbs down. Like to see them try to play this. Finally a solo that makes jazz look inferior to metal chops, awesome...one of the best drummers ever.
Yeah. I bet Dave Weckl and Vinnie Colaiuta are scared of this solo. Hahahaa
Honestly, in the editing of The Spirit Carries On, I feel like they kind of gave him the shit end of the stick and made him out to be a somewhat lacking drummer. Yeah dude, you're absolutely right. And also looked like they already wanted Mangini. The role thing had no point.
i agree with you, its sorta like how in a reality show they always make one person that bad guy ya know? they just made him out to be the lacking drummer even though he is clearly amazing!

MAPEX + PAISTE = Dream drum sound
You probably find it boring because of the lack of camera activity. You should notice the drum playing! Its incredible.

Excelente ¡
Ele tiraria as músicas do Slipknot facilmente.

If I wasen't a DT freak I would have to agree. I also like mangini a lot though. This guy is completely ENCREDIBLE, have to admitt.
Um monstro né 👏👏👏
Everybody makes mistakes, right? It's how good you are at camouflaging them that tells ppl how good you are :P
I'm a huge fan of Lang and Marco, they were both amazing playing with them but I wouldn't have been able to listen to either drummer from then on if they got in so I'm very glad that didn't happen
Allucinante
agreed - this solo has melody and space and sounds like he's playing the song not the drums
Aquiles is the perfect fit for A7X.
you're damn right!
muito bom eu gosto demais
In the top 5 drummers in the world my choice the best my opinion sorry but he is a great drummer love the paiste
