Our home is now completely dried in! After we get the addition all sealed off and are able to keep the bugs out, we install the tongue and groove boards for the ceiling over our deck. We are so happy with how this addition is turning out so far and how it helps tie everything together.
someday when someone asks who built your house and you will be so thrilled to say we built it ourselves.

I can't express how much I love what you are doing for the house, for each other, and for the people you are teaching about how much love comes from fully supporting one another and working side-by-side as a team.

Been watching you guys practically since the beginning (went back and watched the few I missed). I know Spencer has done a lot of research in how to do things. And that's impressive. But what impresses me even more is the amount of forethought that has to go into all the steps. I'm amazed at how few things you've had to redo! Sorry about the wasps.

For tongue and groove flooring boards I place the last 2 boards as an A, then I push them gently down. 2 boards overhead as a V may be a bit more tricky ...
The baby praying mantis was adorable! I once had a whole family of them. Great idea to plan for Christmas lights! My ex-husband and ai designed and built a home with candle light outlets under each front window, to a switch, and outlets in the soffett on 1st and second floors to a switch, for Christmas lights. I actually thought of it from watching Christmas Vacation where the switch in the garage turned on everything! LOL!

I don’t know how many times I used a level to hold a board tight for my husband. There was a lot of that on the gazebo we just built. When you start on your interior ceiling, make sure you rent a drywall hoist...the greatest invention ever.

Suggestion: before you close up all your interior walls, possibly run plumbing and electrical in a spot that you can easily tap into if you ever need to add an additional container expansion.

Does soffit vents come as spotlight cups in plastic but with netting instead? Just drill a hole with a holesaw and screw ! Iffnt it not exists make them from plumbing tubes and wall
fittings!
Use closed cell foam and you don't need a vent.
I too,added 'extra fittings inline'for possible future tap ins when I plumbed a room like they just built.I had a sink,toilet,and washer plumbed,and vented,and out of the room,in the main basement,were the caps and shut offs for future water,and waste pipe additions on the pipes in.We added a 220,and additional 20 amp feed lines to the room for the dryer,and I'd added 2 lights and a ceiling/vent fan,plus an outdoor outlet through the wall too.We discussed a future 2nd floor 3/4 bath is why the taps and shut-offs.(turns out they froze and broke a line later,and just tapped a cap-off)

I'm not sure if you've thought of it, but if you put a door between the shipping container and the extension you would be able to live in that room. You wouldn't have to worry about humidity in that room as the outsides of the shipping containers are fully painted.
This would allow you to get out of the small trailer and have a bigger room that you can stand up in! Just move the air-con over to one of your new windows ;)

Brenda Schwieterman I just recently learned...like in the past 2 weeks...how much money content creators on YT can make from their videos. So, the answer to your question is they make money from this channel and I’m fairly certain that they used money from the sale of their first house to get started on this project until the channel started to grow and become profitable. They’re such a cool young couple and they definitely found a captive audience for what they’re doing building an off grid house.
