      I'm hoping the boss fights are harder as weeklies or in sim universe or wherever.
      I bumped my team from 30 to 35 right before Svarog fight. He has an interesting mechanism in that capture move but he only managed to use it twice. I read he's supposed to do something with that, but freeing people was so easy I didn't get to see any follow-ups. The rust bucket went down too easy to really appreciate the fight.
      Approaching the final battle, I bumped the team from 35 to 40 (but couldn't ascend, obviously). The Cocolia echo fight is funny as the game sneaks it on you without giving you time to prepare. In my case I didn't have a single person who could exploit her weaknesses, so the whole fight was a grind agains her higher elemental defenses. But just destroying the summoned popsicles was enough to keep the dps in check and Nat carried me through the fight, keeping the team at nearly max health most of the time.
      The final battle is a great spectacle. But the only real threat are her ult and being stupid leaving the popsicles up to snipe at you. Nat's ult rotates up easy in this fight so you can just negate the ult damage the second Coco casts it. Bran says here it was a lot of damage but a fifth of your health bar IS NOT A LOT. FMC plus Nat carried the fight, so I've been wondering since if the fights are coded easy on-level or maybe Nat is just OP healer.
      (More recently still on lvl 40 I met Gepard in Sim world, where he is 45. Again Nat carried the fight. You can tell after two minutes you will win as the enemy lacks damage to take your team down, you just have to do the terrible grind against Gep's huuuuuge shields to get there.)

      He could be one of the Stelaron Hunters. The Stelaron Hunter page in the archive mentions the names Silver Wolf, Blade and then "Sam...",which seems to be an incomplete name. Sampo obviously came from outside Jarillo VI. Based on the Luofu story and Kafka revealing their goal was to assist the Trailblazer and make them a hero to obtain the favor of the Luofu and the power of the hunt, it could very well be that Sampo is indeed the mentioned "Sam.." and his goal was to assist the Trailblazer on Jarillo VI and help them earn the favor of Belobog and the power of preservation. He was there every time when you needed help and his mission seems to have completed the moment the Trailblazers fixed the problem.

    I can understand Bronya's and Seele's decision - once trust is broken, it is nigh-impossible to restore or earn. It will take nothing less of a complete restructure to solve - because the people will have a lack of trust in the current system as well. That takes a lot of time and honestly will probably be detrimental given that Belobog still have external threats.
    It's.. a difficult topic. Not lying is ideal, but seems either way there are cons to contend with.
    That said, this is an amazing way to tell a story that people can have divisive opinion about. I'm glad Hoyo doesn't shy away from such difficult topics, or pick the "happy ending" path where they didn't lie and somehow the people magically accepts that.

    • @Mrs.Ragnvindr
      @Mrs.Ragnvindr Год назад

      Yeahh, because it's a lie so someday someone will find the truth but rn they have the external issue to take care for so if they tell the truth, they'll be too busy on the internal issue... Some people might be trusting Bronya (people that ACTUALLY know her) but for the people outside??? People would just think she'll be the same, where there seed of doubt, there'll be people trying to question it... (And the stupid people that just think of themselves would try to gain the authority) At the very least with a tight lie they could prevent that to happen and resolve the external issue first and foremost because it's the most urgent ;-;
      Mind you when I play this the first time I'm all for the telling the truth, just like Bran, (it's annoying because Cocolia deserve all the truth to be out for all the thing she did...) but when I actually sit with it... This make the most sense for the situation ;-; don't like it... But it is the most ideal solution just like you said 😩

This would explain some of his decisions such as leading the astral express crew straight into Gepard’s hands and taking Bronya to the underworld. He’s probably an off worlder not native to Belabog. Think of the reality of telling the people of Belobog the actual truth:
    The guardians have known of the Stellaron and covered up the truth of the Eternal Freeze for 700 years. The current guardian Cocolia, who's entire role is to protect and preserve Belobog has actually abandoned the path of the Preservation and was intending to use the Stellaron to destroy the world and recreate it.
    First of all, who the heck would believe all of that? A couple days/weeks ago they didn't even believe the outsiders actually came from space. Then, these outsiders were usurpers trying to take control from the architects. Now, all of a sudden, these outsiders have saved our planet and our Guardians were the ones endangering us after all? Sounds more like the usurpers actually succeeded and Bronya is merely a pawn in their game.
    That's already hard to believe, but let's say people do. People would start to lose faith in the Architects and the guardians. Heck, people would start to wonder if the Amber Lord even cared about them. The guards who sacrificed their lives, the people suffering in the underworld. Everyone would collectively start questioning their leadership and their existence. A similar thing happened in Attack on Titan if you need an example. It would be neigh impossible for Bronya to take control and unite a city in that kind of state.
    So, the people have either outright rejected the truth or accepted the reality that life on Jarilo-IV is completely hopeless. Seele is correct, it's better to lie and keep the hope of Preservation alive than to tell the truth and try to pick up the pieces of an already dying world.
    And on the point of people finding out the truth. Literally 5 people know what actually happened, 3 of which aren't even staying on the planet. Unless Bronya or Seele record the actual truth, there's no way anyone else will find out. And let's say somehow they do find out the truth a couple centuries later.....well, the underworld and overworld would have been united for some time. People would have started seeing the positive effects of the Stellaron being sealed. If the truth came out at that point it would be easier to digest than it is now.

      That doesn't mean it doesn't suck xD
      Edit: Even then, Cocolia being evil or how she died is irrelevant in the big scheme of things, hiding the Stellaron existence to the public in the past, was the issue.
      And at least in this _new_ turn of events, Bronya will admit they already knew it existed since Alisa Rand and didn't do shit:

      That could very well be spun as the Architects lost the power to deal with it, or even knowledge to it, since the fragmentum was ever expanding these past 700 years.
      I would even say during Alisa's rule the Architects were at their relative prime, and they only get weaker as generations went by.

      Even more taking into consideration the next line.
      So again, she admitted that the thing existed, and even more, the weakness of the prior Architects in getting rid of it.
      So, all things considered the lies could be much worse than painting Cocolia as a saint.
      Cocolia was just one individual in comparison with the generations of Guardians before her that lied about it, and if the words of that childish representation of their collective will indicates something, is that Cocolia wasn't the first one to give up to the Stellaron.

    Lying to the people of Belobog doesn't feel good, but it's honestly the best move to unite the Overworld and Underworld. The Overworlders and Silvermane guards are completely loyal to Cocolia. Not everyone is going to just accept the truth, and may even become zealots who see her as a martyr (as someone who lives in the US, I know full well people don't always care about the truth). And the Underworlders were already beginning to doubt her motives. If they tell the truth, that completely destroys any good will the Underworld might have towards the Architects and the Overworld. Even if Bronya does reopen transportation, they'll never trust her and may even be driven to a full-scale revolt. Belobog tears itself apart, and Cocolia gets her wish for destruction.
    With the lie, everyone can come together with faith that the people charged with protecting them will do just that. And in regards to the truth coming to light, Svarog was already willing to kill to keep the Stellaron information a secret, and of the 5 people who know what really happened to Cocolia, three of them aren't going to be staying on the planet. That secret will die with Seele and Bronya. It'll be almost impossible to find out the truth. And by the time anyone does, it probably won't even matter anymore. It could be another 700 years, and Belobog could be thriving and peaceful.

    My original reaction was like yours, like what was the point of lying? But I understand their reason--to Belobog (the Overworld) Cocolia was a gentle guardian. To the Underworld, Cocolia was a tyrant. Belobog wouldn't recover in one day, they need a uniting factor to be able to move forward. To the Overworld, Cocolia will remain a gentle guardian. To the Underworld, they would think Cocolia sees the wrong of her actions and seek to change the outcome. Now everyone is under Belobog's flags that was protected by Cocolia's life. It's a gentle lie. One that will unite everyone and gives hope, even if tomorrow they'll still be entombed in ice. Also kind of minimized our involvement in Belobog, because I don't think we were supposed to get THAT involved w/ Belobog's history

I know a bunch of people didn't like him because of how blindly loyal he is and how he didn't listen to Serval and the others at first but like...we see that he's suffered a lot protecting the city. We also get moments of Serval implying that being super loyal is a "Landau trait" so we can assume it's just a part of him as a character. Gepard is super loyal to Cocolia and to the city as a whole, even if he's been injured a lot and lost many companions following her orders and doing his duty.
    He's a character with a lot of weight on his shoulders, an amount that is comparable to Seele and Bronya, and i wanna give him a hug.

    telling the truth would do nothing good, and if anything it would only mean to the people that this might not be the truth, what if bronya is lying and she is actually evil?
    after all she claims that mother cocolia, one of the most respectable leaders is a traitor, what makes them believe that bronya isnt the bad guy who killed cocolia to take her place?
    instead bronya is taking the bullet for her people by holding the truth for herself so she protects the people and if it comes out one day then she will be the one to take the blame

Everyone has their own agendas, imagine another party waiting for Cocolia to die so they can succeed her. No one will believe us, heck some will believe we killed Cocolia ourselves (in a bad way, not because of the stellaron controlling a part of her). They are not there when we fought Cocolia and the Stellaron. And no one but us who have close relation with Bronya can acquit her from the sins of her mother; people in that era will associate the mother from the daughter regardless of their differences.

      Except Cocolia's memories and will still linger in the Fragmentum, as per Serval's later quest. The things that remnant said may or may not have caused either her or Gepard to put two and two together and figure out that the official story is not quite the whole truth. Point is, the things it said were a dead giveaway for those in the know (us), and such occurrences could well serve to uncover or hint at parts of the truth to anyone as long as the Fragmentum exists (which is, at this point, assumed to be indefinitely). Hell, the same may or may not apply to some past people who interacted with the Stellaron, like Alisa Rand. Svarog also knows parts of the history that was concealed, and there may be further records who knows where - e.g. in the domains now frozen that may well thaw out in time.
      So yeah, way too many holes exist for the cover-up to be deemed absolutely secure. And if/when the truth or parts of it are discovered by someone with an intent to oppose either Bronya, or her successors, or any part of the leadership... well, then Bronya will not be presented by them as someone who made a reasonable decision but rather as someone who continued the centuries-long tradition of lies to protect their own reputation. The moment such a boldfaced lie was presented as the official version of events, a bomb was primed to possibly explode at an unspecified time in the future.

    • @LuizGGA
      @LuizGGA Год назад +4

      @@taederias1804 yeah but the only person that understood cocolia's memories was the trailblazer since they carry the stellaron, and svarog is an architect's machine, he is programmed to follow the guardian's orders blindly, the same applies to the engine of creation, and not only that but the lie will bring people joy, while bronya's leadership will bring trust, disproving it is hard enough, but they also have no reason to doubt it either, and not only that but lying was also the only option, if people lose trust in the guardians the faith on the preservation will be severely damaged which would cause qlipoth to abandon belobog, and he is the whole reason belobog can even survive the eternal freeze

    • @taederias1804
      @taederias1804 Год назад

      @@LuizGGA Meh, Qlipoth did almost nothing, as far as we have seen or heard. Agents of Destruction (the Antimatter Legion) invaded, the stellaron was used to stop them but that brought on the eternal freeze, and then centuries of faith in the Preservation did literally nothing. Hence why the entity you talk with after "dying" is kind of like "can't really blame Cocolia for abandoning that path". The only thing was Qlipoth responding to the Trailblazer, and that seems hardly the result of anything on the Belobogians' part. Aeons in general and Qlipoth in particular are known to be largely indifferent most of the time anyway.
      Also, I definitely got the impression that Serval understood what Fragmentum-Cocolia was saying, it is just not obvious to those not in the know what it all really implied. Not sure where you got that only the Trailblazer understood it, maybe I missed something?
      Anyway, point was that we can name more than enough possible failure points in the cover-up right off the bat, and we have not even scratched the surface of whatever documentation contradicting the official narrative may be lying around. (Also personal notes by Cocolia? Written records in the frozen wastes of what past guardians have kept secret?) And there _will_ always be someone out to get you if you are in a position of power. Unverifiable accusations can already do enough damage, but if they are actually true and supported by evidence? Yeah, that is not a good position to be in.
      Revealing everything in the moment may not have been a good idea, but keeping it a secret forever is not feasible either. Trying and failing to do so invites another to spin the facts as they see fit, so if you are Bronya, more effective to plan for when, how and what to reveal and thus to some degree control the narrative yourself. Jarilo-VI is not going to just melt out, but life should gradually improve and situation should stabilize, thus a time to do so may well present itself eventually.

    • @LuizGGA
      @LuizGGA Год назад +4

      @@taederias1804 yeah i agree, but about the whole qlipoth thing, the whole reason why belobog didn't get eradicated by the stellaron and the eternal freeze is because qlipoth was preserving it, the engine of creation, the architects choice in their guardians and the exothermic reactions of the geomarrow that allows human survival are all due to qlipoth's efforts to preserve jarilo-VI, the same way lan - the hunt march with the luofu to erradicate the abundance, they are the forces that move civilizations forward, so i would say he is definetely crucial to belobog's survival

    All the cutscenes during the entire Cocolia encounter sealed Trailblazer as 100x more badass than Traveler for me. Not to mention everyone chipping in at certain points. Himeko with her orbital cannon, Bronya taking out enemies, Seele and Dan Heng for the boosts. Trailblazer challenging Cocolia after receiving the power of Preservation. Trailblazer's utter stance of defiance after activating her ult, and then the execution of her ult.
    Trailblazer's lance is also the same lance she got impaled with, just set on fire now. She's beating Cocolia with her own weapon.
    All of it with the Wildfire song is just *chef's kiss*
    Preservation Trailblazer is S-tier. Shields on everything she does (ult, atk, skill). Damage reduction across the entire party using her skill, and 100% base chance to taunt. Increases the survivability of her party massively, but also she herself is just stupid hard to kill.
    I have a theory that Sampo is a follower of the Aeon of The Elation, Aha. I can't remember if that is mentioned anywhere in game. And idk it gave me the sense that everyone in belobog were literally on their last leg and if this betrayal was revealed, absolutely nobody would have the will to live on or build up what's been lost and the people didn't need this lost faith on top of everything.
    Oh even if they were found out later, at least belobog wouldn't be at the brink of extinction then so a civil war or wtv wouldn't kill off everyone, at least that was my logic.

    Bran, I love your naive belief about all the politics, but you're probably wrong on wanting to tell the truth. Normally, I would too, but the world is already on the brink of civil war. The underground has created their own army for protection and have acted already. All in a world that's dying and needs to be united in order to survive. The war that will come from telling the truth will ravage what little resources are left. They need a reprieve to do research and re-connect and restore preservation's power.
    It doesn't matter if/when the truth will come out. The further away the truth comes, the more time they have to try to fix the world. Look at things like Native Americans and the exploitation of their resources. Everyone knew about it, and even up to this day, they haven't gotten their resources back and are still treated unfairly. revealing a truth that actually hurt everyone, not just undergrounders, but upworlders too does nothing. The reparations can't be made, the stolen lives can't be restored. Meanwhile, the one person with the skill to fix things, the trust of the people to do so, and the knowledge of preservation and is also a candidate to be a vessel of qploth will lose all trust and be seen as someone grabbing for power like her mother. Bronya is needed in so many ways, even in the mystical 'chosen one' sense. And there are no other valid candidates known. She has to take the mantle of leadership and revealing the truth will destroy that chance.

    This is an easier and faster way of building trust but it's not a clean one, I would rather someone hate or be disappointed in me for a lie than have them love me for a lie and something I haven't done or something I am hiding. You build a great thing on a dirty base it will collapse sooner or later, it doesn't matter how many years it take, it's gonna happen sooner or later and future generations will pay the prise. You start from Zero with a clean base and a new start, and work hard for a new era, you will earn the love of your people. It's not easy, no trust, no love, hate, hell a civil war or a revolution might actually start, but clean starts start from zero, and this way, you will earn all that you have built and be much stronger than before and you won't have to carry the burdens of the lies that continued for centuries.

    2:30:02 i was a bit upset cuz you accidentally cut a very interesting line from dan heng lmao, I was waiting for your reaction to it but oh well it wasn’t on purpose so. The dialogue goes something like this:
    March: Bronya said she’s willing to wait 700 years for us…
    March: Dan Heng how long can humans live for?
    Dan Heng (in a weirdly serious and somber tone): Forever… but at that point… they should hardly be considered humans anymore.
    March: Gee why so serious all of a sudden?
    Dan Heng: …
    Idk just seems kinda relevant about dan heng in specific

      I think it's very hard to disprove the lie. The only people at the top of Everwinter Hill & the snow plains were the Trailblazing team. The snow plains lie far past the front lines and soldiers were actively battling the fragmentum prior to it and during the time we are fighting. In terms of the soldiers, it's extraordinarily unlikely that one would abandon everyone fighting and just run up a mountain to witness the truth. They'd either die by running through the fragmentum and back or be disgraced from society when they returned and viewed as someone who abandoned their brothers and fellow soldiers in a time of need. They'd easily be laughed out of society and probably the government would arrest or detain them. It's almost impossible that a civilian makes it out there considering the multiple layers of security and dangerous journey for a non-combat adept person to get there.
      An outsider to Belobog would likely not be trusted for their version of events and we're not even sure if people live outside of Belobog in Jarilo VI.
      It's really hard for the lie to get objectively disproven. There are definitely going to be many who are suspicious, but as in real life, the government can label them conspiracy theorists or slam them into irrelevance (much like those warning that Afghanistan didn't have WMDs and that the government was lying, though unlike real life, there's no way to solidly prove their point)
      People have short memories and are very likely to accept the "truth" told to them without much coercion, and while that's a sad fact of life, it's much better than the implications of what occurs otherwise.
      I agree with you that the government ideally is completely honest and transparent with their people save for the most important secrets (i.e. military positions in combat, etc.) But realistically sometimes the truth would be worse than a lie (although many times it is better). In this specific case it's been several years and the Underworld has taken a huge hit from the segregation of the Over and Underworld. They are tense, view the Overworlders as being oppressors and have genuine grievances that need to be address. It would be made so much worse by confirming their biases and result in a civil war that just destroys an already crippled dormant world. Realistically in 20 years even if the truth does come out, there will be much less strife and emotions after successful reparation of the bonds between the Over and Underworld and likely given the autocratic state, if it did come out it'd be the back page of a news paper under the corrections.
      How often do you see a headline and then 48 hours later it's untrue and they quietly delete or correct the article. How many people actually see that and think about it?
      The consequences for telling the truth is thousands of people dead and a complete collapse of society, the advance of the fragmentum and destruction of both the over and underworlds. The consequences for the lie in the long run are likely way better.

      I think people don't realize that in the span of a couple days (maybe a week, idk the timeline), Belobog has found out that aliens exist and have come to "trailblaze their planet", that after 10 years the underworld was visited by a person who is essentially their princess and their Queen died in an incident only witnessed by 5 people, 3 of which were previously accused of plotting to overthrowing the rulers.
      Could you imagine how life changing those 3 events are in the span of a few days? And I'm not even getting into the finer details here. Finding out the "truth" about your world and its history at a point like that would be next to impossible to believe.
      Just imagine that from the perspective of an ordinary citizen. Climate change is killing us and a bunch of aliens come and tell us that something called a Stellaron is killing our planet (that's already too hard to believe, but they're aliens....so maybe they know something we don't know).
      Next you hear these aliens actually want to overthrow the government and have disappeared with our princess into the underworld, a place sealed off for 10 years now. Imagine being in the underworld and seeing your princess and a bunch of aliens walking down the street.
      Then! You find out that with the help of a local Rockstar, these aliens broke into the restricted zone, beat up a bunch of guards and the gigachad Captain Gepard. Then they disappeared into the restricted zone and came back to tell you your Queen is now dead.
      That's crazy! And all that actually happened. So imagine the real truth behind it all, it would be too much. Hell these people just found out cellphones exist and now you want to tell them the government has been lying and the Queen was trying to kill them all? Why not tell them about devils in the Goethe hotel while you're at it😂

    As a random NPC in Herta's bunker stated, "Sometimes a broken spirit is more fatal than a broken body." We've seen how loyal and dedicated the knights are, and the truth would not only break the people's faith, but the knights. The truth would destroy their pride and their livelihood. I guess its the idea of sacrificing the truth for the many. After all, the system itself wasn't broken, it was one VERY misguided leader.
    People will learn the truth (or speculate) but time does heal, and trust could be reformed. They could be like, "yeah, that guardian hundreds of years ago was CRAZY, but the one after was so much better because she stopped her!" 😂
