it would look even better with a little variation in light colours - real cities don't have the exact shade of white light, but rather all shades of white and yellow etc
A ski resort on top of that mountain would be cool. Could make a miniature one to create some force perspective. And add a mini figure scale cable car station at the base that connects to a miniature one at the ski resort.
@@pineapplevisual1564 a miniature ski resort can be behind the castle In the background. Or a castle could be adapted to be a ski resort. Just throwing out ideas.
@@ollytigby8485 pretty sure a miniature ski resort was initially planned to be built on top of the mountain behind the city. there's a building for cable gondola lift by the river crossing with a small parking lot... but that's as far as he gotten with it so far
Usually a lighthouse built near a city has a window directed only to the sea, and a solid part to preevent the light hitting the buildings in the city. You should add a screen to the lighthouse to avoid the light hitting the buildings in the upper city.
I prefer the effect of the led, I'm suggesting to change the design for sake of realism. A lighthouse in that location doesn't have a 360 degree windows, because the beam of light bothers the city
I think you should consider including more features of forest dynamics into your forested areas like around the moutain and on the new hill to help break the monotony of only green trees. Maybe you recreate some dead trees standing without leaves or with brown leaves, broken trees that have fallen on the ground or on top of other trees that generate canopy openings, with dead wood on the ground with mushrooms decomposing it and faster growing vegetation due to sudden light availabilty. That would be a very realistic way to depict the forests around your City and would showcase natural processes happening all the time in forests!
It’s really cool that your brother compliments your building skills with his coding skills. Also even my legs were getting sore just seeing you sit on those green baseplates.
About that hill mountain thing you made, just an idea, from a lego designers point of view, i think you could eventually try implementing maybe paths and different textures so its not one big blob of green, adding some beige, greys, maybe even brown in there, if you *really* want to detail it
I think the lighthouse looks fantastic, of the different options you showed, I think you made the best possible choice. It really looks like one rotating lamp. The night view with the streets lit up is really beautiful too, it's such a different vibe from the Wild West lighting and I think it all looks great!
Amazing. The lamps give an amazing vibe to the city, makes it more like a real city. Also I dont think that many vegetation needed between the 2 tracks at the station.
@@TheRealLachlanAnd plastic toys usually don't come with a day-night cycle with automatic lighting, the fuck is your point? He always tries to mimic real life in this project, he bothered to get the right numbers for the airport when most wouldn't even think about that.

Love watching you build your city. You must have an engineers heart and mind. As your village has grown it has become a place that would be great to live in reality. Also, of the LEGO builders on RUclips, I love that you kick off the shoes and hop onto the table to build your city. Would love to learn more about you.

It looks absolutely insane with the lights off! The amount of progress and work put in to todays video is also crazy. Can’t wait for the next airport update! 😁😁
It turned out so good! Really is such a well built city, and it's super cool that your brother is doing the light programming. Also the lighthouse looks really nicely lit up. Great job 👍🏻
Idea: You could make a mansion in some rural area, with lots of older looking furniture such as a big library. Since the decorations inside the building would be mostly unnoticable from the outside, you could make some of the larger walls interactable (a sliding mechanism) to reveal the insides
I found your channel about a year ago just before you moved location, and it's the highlight of my day when you upload new content! Can believe how much work you've put in so far, well done!
Unreal. Just unreal. I just wish my brother wasn't on the other side of the country and we could team up to have him do the lighting like you have. Really awesome. Thanks for sharing
Kudos to your brother for the lighting solutions! You’re lucky to have him! Loving the updates so far! Can’t wait to see what a future castle might look like for you
This truly is the joy of Lego isn't it? Something that can be as simple as building a cool car can be used to make a beautiful city or truly whatever you want, absolutely outstanding work as always, one of the best Lego cities I've seen!
You are an absolute master. I'm glad to be a Subscriber. Man, it's been a cool journey watching you city, channels, and techniques grow. The lighthouse looks GREAT!
Somehow this mountain near the new tunnel looks strange. I am talking about the part between the tunnel and the tracks that go in pairs to the airport. This part of the mountain looks a little artificial, because it cuts off and turns too conveniently in front of these tracks. So it can be assumed that someone cut a part of the mountain in order to lay these tracks, but in this case there must be some kind of structure that will prevent soil and stones from sliding onto the rails. Because the physics of a mountain is a pyramid: the higher the mountain, the wider its base to hold the mass. Otherwise, landslides will begin at the place where the almost vertical part was cut, because there is no support for the soil.
Loveing the city's progress and the lights are awesome. 2 things for an idea, 1 have a building on fire with led lights, creating the flames, and the fire truck lights lit light up. 2 continue the trian tunnel around the corner a bit. Otherwise, people will be able to see in the middle of the mountain. Love the light and the ideas that you came up with
The street lights have me thinking: if you can program individual homes so lights will go on and off during the night cycle (representing people going to bed or to the bathroom at night) that'd look awesome and give you the option to play with different lighting configurations (such as mostly just street lights vs street lights and building lights) during parts of the day.
You’re doing such good work! Hard to believe I’ve been fallowing you for over a year now.. But, boy! What a huge amount of progress in that time! Looking forward to the Moon Base vid!
You can build miniature skyscrapers in the background. It’s as if you can see downtown in the distance. This way the boxes for the wires will be hidden. And the perspective will expand. If it’s not entirely clear, I can draw a sketch of what it might look like.
Hey I think it would be cool to have a camera on the train and a TV in the corner of the room showing its perspective. You also could build a cool cave inside the train tunnel with led color crystals. And a mine outside the tunnel. Just some ideas
I've been watching your city grow for some time and I must say thank you for all the building tips you give. My son and I exhibit Cobi WW2 models in the UK, and we use your landscape techniques for our displays.
I wish there was more types of green you could use for variation. All the flat one color of green (even with vegetation) makes it harsh on the eyes. But the build as a whole is so amazing and grand! The lack of variation on the color for the grass isnt super bad or ruining it at all. Thank you for sharing! I always love seeing the updates!
Aaaaand after watching further I see you added more color through new vegitation pieces. My apologies on an early comment! I hope it didnt come across as rude!
Thank you thank you thank you!!! I look forward to this every week. It's absolutely incredible...and the lighthouse ....just wow! It looks amazing. Keep up the great work and if I didn't mention it....thank you!
Too make it really lively you could get a bunch of white noise machine and program them into certain area of the city. At the harbor you could have light waves crashing a seagulls and in the city you could have murmuring and traffic noise. On the county side you could have bugs chirping. Just an idea to add more immersion
I absolutely love this series and your channel. Big congrats for your success and skill. I wanted to make a suggestion for whenever you connect the train tracks between the city and the wild west. If you made a tunnel, you could make the city side modern as with the other ones, and then gradually change the aesthetic to something fitting the wold west exhibit. Then inside the tunnel / covered area, you could have a few track switches programmed so that when a modern city train comes in, it stays on the city track and an old locomotive version of it gets released into the wild west exhibit. This could be done smoothly by measuring the time it would take the train to appear on the other side of the tunnel, then the time it would take for the swapped train to appear and programming a delay between arrival and departure with the length of the difference between those. I think it would really help the immersion. As always looking forward to new updates. Take care
4:24 I think it might be beneficial to move the ladder to the other side of the pole. We wouldn't want minifigures getting hit by trains on the way up. Love your videos by the way!
Surely the light house should be lighting up the sea area. 🤔. How about using blue LEDs to give it a more night time vibe. Blank off the light to rear to avoid lighting the city up, and angle down/place at top as before to avoid lighting up western. Really fantastic build, can’t wait to see more.
I am pretty sure I was not the only one to suggest the LED solution for the lighthouse, and you probably took it from someone else, but I am still glad you went that route to light it up.
I recently saw a video from GoodTimesWithScar (A Minecraft RUclipsr) and he built a tunnel as well. His tunnel didn't need to be functional and was purely aesthetic so he only had go make the entrance, but I really like how he built it. He used darker shades into the tunnel to make it look like shadows and it gave the tunnel a very realistic look. Maybe you could experiment with that kind of texturing as well so it looks darker inside the tunnel. I don't know how it would translate to Lego, so if you don't think it will look good or if it's too much work for a tiny improvement then I'll fully trust your opinion :)
The lighthouse made me think… it could be really cool if you had a moving light like that a move the city with something in front of it to create en effect of clouds moving in front of the moon. I once lit a stop motion animated scene by doing something similar with what is called a ‘Cucoloris’.
Something very interesting you could add is a mine/cavern entrance, and a section underneath for people to look at, which could have the mine/cavern and some cool features (stalagmites, stalactite, a big geode cracked open, underground river/waterfall etc.)
idea: train tracks through the mountain connecting wild west and the city. On one end there is a modern train, and on the other it comes out as the old steam powered train. Program it so it looks seamless between the environments
