I feel funny saying this but I've got to say, I was a kid when I was playing this. I was only playing against AI, would spend my time defending my territory, building a nice looking base, would get a lot of money then smash my opponents in normal difficulty. Damn that "you are victorious" with that beautiful banner and that epic theme was so good to hear, really felt like I had done something great with my day

There're still a community of players still playing this game, making new maps for it, custom singleplayer missions, custom co-op missions and custom campaigns.

This game is so much fun and bring such good memories. Played this as a child and I was really bad because I didn't understand it that much. Played the vanilla game these days and I really like that people are still making mods for this. I like the Shockwave one because it's the closest to vanilla but adds some fun units and abilities. Still need to try Untitled and Reborn.

If the GLA hole would have been destroyed as well, than he would have had won even in the attack run.
A hole is still counted as building, but after the hole got rebuilt, the defense structur wasnt count as a building anymore, so GLA lost :D

Childhood memories man. How did you guys get the game though? I've been trying to find it but most of the download links are viruses and I don't know where to buy it.
@Michael Samoylov I bought an "used" C&C Generals + Zero Hour expansion original CD from the internet some years ago. Came in perfect conditions, not a single scratch. I found links to download for free before I bought it but they were full of viruses and I wanted to have the game permanently available for me to install whenever I wanted, so buying a original physical version was safer.
I just Googled and there are online stores selling keys for the C&C Ultimate Collection (every Command and Conquer game included) to be activated on Origin. I just don't know if you can use mods on the Origin version of the game though.

Despite how much better the mods are, the vanilla game is still fun.
The mods are good. But compared to the vanilla game, they all ge BURNED.

I like how you follow the units as they attack, you make the game greater 10x :D
I like how the ai was confused at the end. that was pretty funny how it just sat there thinking for a couple seconds,only to conclude that it could not withstand another freedom bombardment, and it game ended itself. Great vid, USA is the best faction in game.
The three factions are great, you only need to know how to use them

I mostly spend my childhood playing this game and I am really proud that there are people who plays it till now. It brought back the old memories that Me and my friends gathered up and played this game for hours. Thank you for making my day.
Though playing as air Force general if you take the combat Chinook and fill with half Pathfinders half rocket soldiers you can easily take out most enemies

@@elyeneralv5249 have some stealth commanches come in and take out the defenses if it's gla have the Pathfinders snipe them and it's gg
6 Missile Defenders, 2 pathfinders. Above 2 pathfinders they will start picking off the same targets, which is waste. What works even better, is:
-fill 2 vees with missile defenders
-fill combat chinook with 2 vees and 2 snipers
You now have 10 missile guys, 2 machine guns and 2 snipers in one combat chinook. BOOM 14 units in 8 slots.

Starting at 20:00, that was the most epic 1 minute in an rts ever! Did the music just happen to align perfectly or was it added after? I really thought it was original game music, so I'm a little confused how it was so perfect.
It is indeed the original soundtrack but it has been added afterwards. I play without music so I can match it better later.
That was beatiful, i think i´ll play this general again, there is way more fun than i thought!

5:20 That G.I. is the MVP of the game. Attempts to capture the oil, runs to the bunker, kills his attacker, comes back to finish the job, gets chased off then completes the job.

Zero Hour was so cool. I remember a hilarious bug with the laser patriot towers - if they destroyed a target with shots left in their salvo, they'd target stuff waaaaaay out of their range with the remaining shots. I had a game where my base defense destroyed a building or two in the computers base for every wave he sent against me.
Watching the CAS come in and wipe out that base brought a single tear to my eye, that was beautiful.

I remember walking to the Dick smith store after a gym session to pick this up in 2003 when I was in year 9.
man this sure brings memories.... :( hope they do a remake of this game one day I would sure buy it. BTW you would get more out of your planes if once you got them in force instead of waiting for the satellite scanner get them to patrol the mid ground. the result is they would just keep going back and forth to refuel and hit whatever they run into, and then slowly but surely start moving that guard circle up to their base... or thats how I used to do it XD

Aircraft general is so fun to play, on the Shockwave mod he's has another place and good powers , recommend playing him with that mod on

Haha, thought there is just another Air vs AI screen record, but when he lifted up all Auroras, I felt the gunpowder in the air, and didnt become disappointed.

Also I'd like to get your opinion, do you think any general in the vanilla game is "Over Powered" or would be considered your "Only choice" if you wanted to win quickly?
Or any general or faction you think is underpowered?
I mean GLA is the best for rushing but Alexander has the most OP bullshit with her EMP patriots and Super Auroras. For underpowered I'd have to go with Fai.
NakedViking in vanilla ZH yes ! Fair is a bit underwhelming. However in other mods (contra for instance) fai broken ...

@@NakedViking Hi! Infantry is the strongest general against anything. Aircraft? Minigunners. Snipers? Troop Crawlers and Assault helix with minigunner. Tank spam? Tank hunters with Patriotism will WRECK them all. Aurora's? Just wait for the enemy to drain their resources, as Aurora's are expensive, and then attack.
Air Force is considered to be the most overpowered army by Zero Hour Experts.

Well quad cannons are pain in the ass after auroras pay load has been dropped. But excellent work there general!
