I love this doll so much. I am so picky with gen three dolls and as an African American girl her hair is just….ugh amazing! I also love chewlian and yeah he doesn’t make sense, but I love his creepy self. Venus is just so so SO amazing. I got her yesterday and I adore her. I have taken so many pictures of her already. The amount of euphoria I got when I opened her and looked at all her accessories it was just amazing. 10/10 best gen three doll so far to me!

Venus was my favorite character when i was a child and I FREAKING CRIED WHEN I SAW THIS NEW GEN VERSION OF HER! She's freaking slaying and i need her so badly!
She is a beautiful doll, but I kinda did have a theory about her parents as of maybe she’s the daughter of the Alien Flytrap from the movie of Little Shop of horrors after his defeat one of his copies have an encounter with Poison Ivy till time passed and then created Venus Mcflytrap. But it’s just a theory in my head 😝 😇
the way i keep checking stores for her over and over 🤧 hopefully i will find her soon! thank your for such an in-depth review, she really is stunning and blows other dolls out of the water. i love how she looks with painted nails too!! 💚💖
Chewlian in g3 is a flytrap that ate/fused with a cat. Not sure if it’s been confirmed but the cat can’t use his back legs cause they’re fused with the roots!
I had to order mine from ebay but I can't wait for her to come in. She's absolutely beautiful and I love every aspect of her design. She really became her own person in this line and it really captures that ecopunk vibe I love so much. I got the Jinafire g3 in last week and that one is so much fun too.
I do find it annoying they keep giving everyone either dogs or cats 😂 Like bring back plant Chewlian. He was an absolute menace in the books. Like a menace. Robecca and Rochelle literally hated him. 😂😂 It was a constant battle every book with that plant. On the point of diversity. Not really. It took them till Venus to give us a black-centric (for all we know she could be half something when she’s revealed in the show) doll with hair like this. The last doll we got with curls in their hair was Clawd. 🙃 Why they can’t seem to bother with giving Clawdeen braids or locs is beyond me. Because Mattel owns MH. They have black dolls with Afros and everything. Why the struggle? Or I guess because Clawdeen isn’t “fully-black” anymore they decided they didn’t need to try? Insanity
Mattel is very scared of having a female character be “too Black” and it shows, just look at what they did to howleen in g1 Even with venus it feels like their okay with her having twists because shes green, while clawdeen has brown skin
I think Venus was a step in the right direction but there is an issue with there being more black centric characters. Like as you said clawdeen should absolutely have braids or locs at some point. I personally just have my hopes up that theyll pull through, because we still have more black/black-coded characters on the way. Honey swamp, Clawdia, Howleen, Catty noir ect.
My husband preorder mines on glamazon err I mean Amazon... Anyway I'm so excited for her, she was the first monster high my gay ass broke down and said *ok we jus gunna do this!" (Back in like, 2013) And I've never been happier. So this new one got me hella stoked 😂
