- Simple kick off play to draw the other team away from their half of the field. Ball is played from the Center Midfielder (CM) back to the Defensive Midfielder (DM), who drops the ball back to the Stopper (ST). The DM drops back to the same level but opposite side of the field to receive a pass back from the ST. DM then passes up to the CM, who passes up to the Right Forward (RF), who dribbles in and crosses a pass to the LF for the score.
This is good in theory but beginner teams would not be able to get off 6 passes in a row!
It's convenient that the blue LF and LM are so slack in covering their guys (I mean, they are on defense, right?). Spreading out the defense is a rock solid strategy. But, I would celebrate if my beginners got three successful passes in a row.

I was told the kickoff always had to be forward. True?
That was true , but the rules were changed in 2016? so you can kick in any direction now.
