wanted to buy Lamzu Thorn and was watching all videos on youtube about it. I have seen all reviews. all of them. 10 minutes, 15 minutes long. Only about Thorn. And no one, no one told there why its not suitable for fingertip grip. And you did 2,5 min review of Thorn and managed to say everything essential from which I can extract the reason why. thank you!
I ended up picking up the pulsar x lite based on your review because it seemed like it would be the ideal mouse for me after the viper ultimate pooched it playing D2 a few months ago. It really is the ideal mouse for me! Spot on talking points techne!
Back in the day CS1.6 was dominated by the Intellimouse 3.0 (ergo) and quake the IMO/1.1 (ambi) for exactly the reasons you described in this vid. I switched off ergo for years and my aim was always slightly lacking. Recently picked up ec2c and I'm straight back to that 3.0 feeling. It's the stability you get from an ergo where's as ambi offers more mobility.
I mained the G Pro and Razor Viper Ultimate for years. Now I'm maining the Pwnage Stormbreaker and Pulsar Xlite V2. Took a bit to get used to but now I just love the ergo shape.
I’ve just switched over to the deathadder v3 pro from superlight. It fits like a glove and I don’t grip hard so unlikely to have that flex like you. I had pain in my index from the superlight where I was gripping too hard and mouse 1 too stiff. I also loved the Zowie shape but they need to make it lighter. I started hitting personal bests after 2 goes on Kovaaks too! I’ve found my shape in ergo and great video. Thanks!
I was on the Viper because it was my first step into gaming mice. I used it for a year and still never felt dialed in. Bought an Xlite v2 and Pwnage Ergo. Hand slid on like a glove and my shot definitely improved. Love both mice so much I didn’t want to return either. Ergo definitely is the shape for me.
Well, I used to use the SteelSeries Rival 5, but about 10 months ago, I was able to get the Alienware Area51 R2 case (Triad), so I decided to get an AW768 RGB Mechanical Keyboard, and then pair it with what I must say is one heckuva mouse: The Alienware AW959 RGB Mechanical mouse. Superb mouse in every aspect. Size. Weight(adjustable). Subtle RGB lighting. Braided mouse cord. And most importantly, COMFORT! Very comfortable mouse to use both in games and just "surfing". It convinced me so much that both are now my Daily Drivers, and the SteelSeries Apex 7 and Rival 5 are in their boxes, in a drawer! I have gone all Alienware now, and am very happy for it!
I’ve been waiting for you to review the new Corsair Scimitar Wireless. I saw a random post about it & immediately went to their website and placed my order.
My Steelseries Ikari just stopped working. It's hard to find the same shape. I think it was great. I bought Basilisk v3 but I will return it.. Any ideas let me know :)
I've gone full circle coming from a big OCZ Behemoth to various small lightweight ambi mice and now I find myself going back to the newer gen ergos that are light weight as well. Although I agree that the small light ambi mice are more of a precise tool they just become so uncomfortable in long sessions, maybe I'm getting old but after everything I've tried I think when it comes to choosing a gaming mouse comfort is king.
I tend to like ergo mice for fps like csgo/val, but ambi mice for tracking fps games. My favorite ergo is the roccat kone air pro, i feel very locked in with it.
@@shot181me too, I think in terms of recent mice the lamzu thorn or one of the Vaxee ergos are closest in shape, especially with the nice back hump the kone pro has
I'm just waiting for the year to end before I buy a new mouse. I might end up buying either the Xlite V3, DAV3 (still deciding if I'll go wireless due to rigidity issues), or the Logitech GPX 2 (I know it's an ambi, but I haven't tried the shape). I'm still hoping that Logitech will release an updated version of the G703 (copium).
you missed the goated ergo shape of the g403. It's even safer than the DAV3 imo. I guess since logitech refuses to relase a mouse with up to date specs with that shape it's not even worth mentioning anymore :(
Always love your video's and the enthousiasm you bring. This explanation I think at least cuts out the ambi mouse for me... I currently own a G Pro Superlight and a Glorious Model D (wired) and I think their baby would be my perfect fit... The G Pro is a tad too ambi but the Model D is a tiny bit too big. Any suggestions? Hand size is 18,5x10. Playing only PUBG
I watched this vid but have never tried an ergo. I must’ve been gone awhile because where did the tattoos come from?? Looking good though. Keep up the great content
I started on Ambrexious Mouse when I started to take KBM play seriously (I have always been a console gamer so you can imagine it was an aggressive transition for me but my aim improved drastically). I started with Xtrfy M42RGB and still enjoy it but I do like to try different brands, coatings and much so I've tried a Lamzu Atlantis Mini (goated), EGG XM1r Dark Frost (good feel/shape and don't have any issues with the dark frost coating). My 1ST ergo is a Ninjutso Origin One X. In my 1st play I played exact the same score as on the Atlantis Mini with stock skates. Shape IMO is really comfy but the PAW3335 is lacking for competitive play so I use it as main mouse for workflow as of today.
I want my mouse to fade into the background so I can just think of where I want to be looking and the cursor follows there automatically. I can never seem to get that hand-eye coordination these days with an ergo mouse. Ambi mice I've tried just give me a better mind-body connection. I put a lot of energy into getting my setup right to reduce hand, wrist, elbow pain but ergo mice haven't done it for me. I'm seeing the Xlite V3 and I have a lot of reservations about attempting once more to invest in ergo again.
Thank you for the video. Will you be reviewing the Hyperx Cloud 3 wireless? I heard they made improvements to it, such as the audio quality being better, but I could be wrong.
Wow... That's a weird take. I never heard of anyone talking about the back hump of the mouse hitting their hands. Are you sure you're an ergo mouse user? Because if this bothers you that much, you should go with a mini version which is tipically a claw mouse instead of these ergos that are more on the side of relaxed claw and palm.
If i remember correctly NP-01 and NP-01s are half ergo (just on the side not on the top) but you can say WHERE IS THE OUTSET AX ??? because this one is a true ergo mice (even if it's still not a wireless mice for now)
Hi techne your my favorite Headphone reviewer your the best your true and honest I just ordered the jbl 910p for PS5 how do they sound do you think I made a bad decision thank you techne stay safe and happy gaming
Side buttons are awful on the SS mini wireless, sensor is old af and SS in general need to get with the times with thier prices and comedy software. SS still think it's 2009. They do a lot right but.............. Competition is too strong now.
Dude I thought Model D wireless was once your boy? I had like 3 Deathadders back in the day. I had a G-pro wireless and now got a Model D wireless, Im drooling over the Deathadder v3 pro wireless but that price man.... and now it creeks you say. Idk what to do
Wait for the outset AX Wireless if you want a top tier wireless ergo mice and don't mind the weight, or wait for the Pulsar Xlite v3 (you can also pick a DAv3 8Khz Wired if you don't mind the cable because this mice don't have the same issue as the wireless one).
Just ordered a Lamzu Thorn, was using a superlight and g303shroud. Both gave me pain, hopfully the Thron fit me better. I work 8hours from home on my pc and then game for another 3-4hours, so i want a good daily driver that can be used in gaming and office work. (Hate the gpro shape, really can't stand it)
Surprisingly I do not find having Dav3 a comfortable mouse to use. Prefer a gpx as my workhorse. Gpx needs better side buttons though. Too squishy/mushy
ur whole point of fortnite kids can have some merit to it but also, people are realising that ergo mice (most are big) arent great for fingertip and are worse for claw for medium to small hand sizes like my aim has drastically improved in all areas after using smaller mice (granted i have smaller hands but i like the ambidextrous mice). and some of those people moving over maybe they just want the comfort that ergos give and not the overall aim from it. im not saying your wrong but theres definetly more to it than "locking in"
@The Techne It's mindblowing you don't include Roccat Kone Pro in here. None of these mice are even close to that mouse in terms of both ergonomics and how well you play with it. Imo it is the best Ergo mouse ever made, easily (wired version). I own over 200 gaming mice and that says something

deathadder v3 pro mini/medium would be amazing. the dav3 is just a bit too big for me

Try metapanda01 or attack shark r1, Chinese budget mouse but actually not bad for me, I can play it like top tier brand mouse.

Same, But za13 is also really good. I just need a wireless of that. Either that or the lamzu thorn might be my end game. So we will see soon.
Outset AX is my favorite ergo currently. Can't wait for a wireless version!
Thanks for the review, will consider to buy deathadder v3 pro, im currently using prime wireless since 2021
I was a big ergo guy until I started with the ambi shape. I like the flexibility more. Currently use the Pulsar X2H mini and the Fantech Aria XD7

Yes I will be. Vid will be up next week
Can you recommend a ergo mouse same shape as Logitech g403 but lighter
Still love my SS Prime Black Ice to death. By far the most comfortable mouse I've ever used, I just wish they changed the side and main switches.
Ergo for life
I will always maintain that shape and comfort trumps all when it comes to a mouse. Ambi is nice but its never going to be as comfy as an ergo mouse.

I don't agree with the side buttons, I like it. But I do agree with the rest of what u're saying

good but not a top mouse.
ATM, I am back using the DAV3 wired lol. My next get will be the EC2-C for comparison
The Aerox 5 shape is similar to a Rival 600 but with more gimmicks
