I think you should paint the boards to match the garage door color as best you can, and get a white pillow case style bag to put over the hitch and put a sign over it all that says "Nothing going on here".
Have a Cobalt R3 a bit longer 24 ft, but it has a swing tongue so fits length wise. Doors are 10 ft. The height is a problem with the arch folded by 3 inches, but I think it will fit by lowering the hitch ball and letting some air out of the rear tires on the truck or the front tires of the trailer. Will be a tight fit.
You can likely get away with moving the boat forward on the trailer a few inches depending on what you tow with (Tongue Weight Increase). Then have a Swing Tongue put on the trailer. Pull the pin & flip it to the side. I've done many myself over the years being a Marine Mechanic.
Why is it up on the blocks? Whats the difference between being up on blocks and being on the ground? If you wanted to take the weight off the tires for storage, why not put it up on jacks?
That's just crazy glad you got it out of the weather but mine never sits that long in south Florida and when not using it I keep it in my shop in the corner out of the way to work on equipment
..i currently have a 6x10 haulmark transport cargo trailer.reg says 2990 gvwr. it has 205/75d14 tires on it.,,,,,my problem is my garage door opening is 84 " high .but the trailer measure aprox 86 1/2 inches high. i was able to get it into my garage just barley by flattening the tire. but makes it very unpractical to use having to re-inflate and deflate with every use. have to keep it garaged due to HOA rules i'm thinking of changing the rims and tires from the 14 inch to a 12 inch in the homes of gaing the clearance i need to pull it in and out without messing with the tire inflation...... but can my trailer run safely on a 12 inch tire with a d rating ? also will the 12 inch give me the additional aprox i need to clear the garage height ?.......any thoughts or recommendations?
+bob woerner That does sound like a lot of work....we only put the boat in once a year, so no problem. I wouldn't want to lower the clearance, but you would have to do the math and see about wheel change. OR....how about a cheap outdoor garage - they sell the tin roof ones for less than $1000, and you could put sides on it....just a thought!
WELL DONE!! We have done several things kind of in this line of thinking. The most innovative =Had a 1973 21 ft Eliminator custom built and HAD to put it inside. Was renting a small house with a single car garage. The boat was 8 ft wide (like most of its type), the garage door was ...you got it exactly 8 ft wide. Got permission from the owner to remove the 2x6 frame boards on each side of the garage, installed carpet on what was left as skids. Put a receiver hitch on the passenger side FRONT of our truck measured so the driver could see exactly down the side of the boat where it was going much easier turning radius, control, visual in your face. Bonus? EASIER ON THE SPOUSE. With a jet drive and a hitch, of course it was too long by 6 feet. We got 4x8 plywood, built out, roofed it, cut a hole for the extra almost 2 feet to stick out. Worked very well and when we left we put the garage back to normal easily. Necessity is the mother of invention. Shelters that we have built for our boats over the years since 1969 haven't really been that great. Garages work best even if you have to alter them like you did. We used to drive 9 hours to Lake Mead all nite and launch at daybreak every 3 weeks. Wound up renting a marvelous all hollow block storage facility that easily accommodated our 24 ft cheetah (with jet, swim step, hitch etc. adding several more feet. Was REALLY worth renting the storage for that situation. drive up, hook up, go launch. Easy. Not terribly expensive. Then again it was l979-81. Now we have 10 acres on a lake in central Calif. I still keep the jetboat at home as mice like to munch on everything up there including electrical. Using tarps right now til I figure out something here. The fishing boats are stored at the lake. You do have a nice garage and still space for another vehicle! Good job.
wtf!!!!! lol😂😂 im lucky my toung is removable. i have 3/4 of a inch from hitting the door and 1/2 inch from the window hitting the too of. the garge door when its open. like a glove!!! lol
It is called "physical improvement or modification to the member’s property" if you are a HOA member, and no way most of HOAs will approve what you did because that board outside looks like crap, sorry. If you are not a HOA member very often you can leave the boat outside anyway. With what you have it was easier to add a swing away joint.. Once again sorry but it looks like a broken garage in ghetto
I was like what a good idea until I seen the front sticking out the garage LOL,🤣
I admire your ingenuity!
genius I love it!! persistence ! Also I would look into the swing tounge so you can fix the garage & you'll be set. Nice boat!
Dude, THATS - WHAT - I’M - TALKN - BOUT!

I must congratulate you on this. For myself, that’s entirely more trouble/time than its worth. Anyway, Awesome boat!

I wish I could use the laugh feature from Facebook on this hahah
hahahahahahahahahahaha
why put boat up on brick or blocks? thought it would be better to lift trailer and take pressure of tire to prevent flat spots?!?
I think it is amazingly creative and daring. Great job.
Great idea until your wife pushes the garage door button
Right now it is shrink wrapped in the yard, but I could not find a barn to store it cold.
You must be an engineer ... only an engineer can take something so simple and make an all day (weekend?) cluster fuck out of it !
Freakin awesome! I know that took some time and thought. Well done!!
They make trailer mods so that the tongue is removable for exactly this reason.

Im sorry but thats ridiculous
Do you have a better idea for storage? Where do you put your boat?
Nice boat! Show a vid out on the water!
lol someone is single... this pissed my gf off just lookin at it
What's the width of your garage doors?
I believe a standard 8'8" or 8'10" as you have 1"+ open on either side and the boat was 8'6" wide
Unlimited RV thx man. I only have 8' doors......... damnit
4:05 if that fits perfect... hahahahaha I hope you dont work at nasa.. lol
wtf!!!!! lol😂😂 im lucky my toung is removable. i have 3/4 of a inch from hitting the door and 1/2 inch from the window hitting the too of. the garge door when its open. like a glove!!! lol
