Neat premise, but the final game is gonna need a really big map or some procedural generation to make an infinite world. Procedurally generating terrain blocks and populating them isn't that hard, and there's plenty of tutorials and advice for doing so out there nowadays too, so I'd strongly suggest to the dev to do so. Guarantee you it'll increase sales dramatically.
If you really wanted that 100k for the one shelter, you should've used an autoclicker or a macro. Red Faction Guerilla had a demo that had you do one basic mission in a small area & I fkng loved it so much I played it over an over until I got the money to buy the full game. This was 10 years ago or something. The mission could be completed in 5 minutes not rushing. But it didn't force you to complete the mission, you could wander, mess around & whatnot. Since a large selling point of the game was destruction, they let you wreak havoc if you wanted.
