  • Natasha Crain and I dive into some of today's most pressing cultural issues through the lens of Christian values. Christians are increasingly being "hated" in today's society. We discuss this as well as the importance of advocating for the common good despite opposition and unpacking the very misunderstood (and confusing) topic of Christian nationalism. Plus, we touch on some shocking revelations about the goals of certain LGBTQ activists, the controversial Kinsey reports, and the impact of queer theory.

I watched a show a while back where a gay man who worked at a gay club as a stripper was asked by his boss to dance on a float at a gay pride parade. It was one of the earlier parades decades ago and he had not himself been to one. He said he would do it and that it would be fun to dance on a float (not sure if this was clothed or not, I am assuming very little clothing if any). Then his boss handed him a bag of candies. He asked what the candies were for, and his boss said to throw out to kids. He asked in shock if kids were really going to be there. His boss said, yes there should be some. The man said no, he was not participating. Decades later, he said he never attended a pride parade.

For years the gay community fought accusations of them being a danger to children. Now, in their desperation to get support in numbers they have largely backtracked heavily to the values they fought for. I can't help but notice how deeply compromised they have become especially on the issue of child safety.

It really is. I've learned to test the waters with offhand comments every so often..like dipping your toes in a stream. Prayers helps to determine if you should pursue further or not, but there is usually at least one who will listen. Pick your moments, wait for a slow time when you can talk without interruption. Let them lead the conversation, but He is in everything..keep steering it back to Him. Pray that they heard your words, that seeds were sown, and that they have a heart to zealously search out our King. I am in no way about christian nationalism, my only objective is to share the love that I have been given and warn of the times we are in. Deception is abundant, but God is True and He never changes. Love is not forced, it is offered. What CN leads to is just another repeat of the witch hunts and crusades..a return to death for anathema as it was in ancient times. The laws are already passed and waiting to be enforced (noahide). Be sure your house is built on the Rock, and invite as many to take shelter with you as you can. The storm is upon us.

While it's a bit tricky to figure out how Christians should operate in a democracy (since the Roman Empire certainly wasn't one), I think a clear clue is in Jesus' statement to Pilate when asked if He was a king: “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.” As servants of Jesus, we belong to the kingdom of heaven first and foremost. Which earthly country we were born into (or are citizens of) comes in a very far second place. The second thing I would look at is how the early Christians operated within the Roman Empire in the Book of Acts. The "turned the world upside down" (Acts 17:6) according to their enemies. How did they do that? By taking over the Empire? No, by preaching the gospel to every person they came across and living totally different lives to everyone else. That is what we ought to be doing, rather than dreaming of political power.

It would be so interesting to hear a follow up conversation from people more knowledgeable about the topic: from a theonimist or a self proclaimed Christian nationalist, for example. These are very deep conversations about how Christian’s should view the role of government. They’re the types of philosophical conversations that our founding fathers had. I really like that Natasha is explaining that this is a derivative term applied to Christians.

(14:23) I am one of those people who hear that term and it sets off an alarm to me. Because it is heavily associated with "the end/goal justifies the means," which is a common practice of many today. I think that, when people say this stuff is fringe and would never be mainstream, things like drag queen story hour and gay marriage are good points to bring up even aside from what was said here. If you told people 20 years ago that we'd be having drag queens reading to children, most people wouldn't have believed it. Go back 40 years, and even many gay people didn't want gay marriage, cos they saw it as an outdated tradition poorly suited to gay people. And yet here we are today, where all this stuff is normalised and/or politically and legally enforced.
So saying something is fringe *now* doesn't matter, cos it doesn't mean it'll always be that way.

It was God, not Sauron, who instituted governments to be HIS wrath against wrongdoing. It's not a trap. It's a responsibility.
When officers of government refuse to punish what is wrong (or worse, actively punish what is right) that should be a serious issue for all believers, as the Lord requires of us to do justice (Micah 6:8).

Not having watched the vudeo yet, this comment made me think:
The wife, being in submission to her husband, has very specific instructions on how to turn his heart to God. That is not through brute force, nagging, chastising, or coercion, but rather through prayer, humility, grace, and being an example of what God's will enacted through a person is.
Perhaps citizens, being in submission to the state should act as the wife does to an unbelieving husband. I do love the idea of Christian nationalism, I mean, what Christian doesn't want to see a reflection of God's holy kingdom here on earth? The problem is we would likely have to use un-christ-like means to achieve that by force.
Slow, steady changing of the national heart to God, and then maintaining that change, seems much more feasible and sustainable.
But it would be best not to forget who our true bridegroom is, lest we become adulterous, worshiping the things of the world.
I dunno. Great comment! It really inspired some thought.

Yeah, I would say the term “Christian nationalism“ is a very slippery term. You have no idea what the person is talking about when they use it. You have to make sure to ask many questions and make a point to understand the person’s view. I’ve heard Christian nationalism defined as simply as God giving man the Ten Commandments as a way to judge their government on how tyrannical or righteous it is.

  • @fnjesusfreak

When I usually mention the idea of Christian nationalism, I specifically mention Kingdom Now, Rushdoonyism and the Seven Mountains Mandate so it's clear how I understand the term. No, your analogy is good! You can use King Solomons concubines as a perfect example. King Solomon is still known (to this day) as one of Israels wisest kings, BUT the story of Solomon still holds valuable lessons into what happens when you start following the world and not God...

I really love your content so I was so sad to see that this was the conversation on Christian Nationalism that you had on your channel. I consider myself to be a moderate, so I don't connect with either politial party here in the United States, but Christian Nationalism is so closely connected to racism, it saddens me.

Christians need to look out for the spiritual condition of their brothers and sisters.
And there are many pastors who love caring for others, but need to remember not to bring others into disrepute.

God gave us Free Will, so we would Willingly try to understand God's Will, and willingly give our lives over to His Guidance. Any Government Laws, or even Religious Laws, that hinder our Individual Rights to Find God, and understand His Grace, at our own speed (or do the opposite, for that matter), is Anti-Christian. Some of the best people I've known, have struggled, a life time, but eventually find God's Truth... Love Each Other, and Love God, through Jesus the Christ!

This is something I think about a lot, that if we legislate morality then more people will fail to uphold the first commandment which underpins all of God's law which is to love him and fulfil the commandments out of that love.
On the other hand, a completely lawless society would have us all living in survival mode and that would be at odds with God's laws at times.
The ideal is to regulate society enough to live as we choose, (without pretending that all choices are the same or without consequence), and to then use that freedom to serve God.

    • @PaleRider559
      @PaleRider559 4 дня назад +1

@@rebeccaw2300 Yeah. Now that I reread my comment, It sounds like I meant "No Laws" LOL That's not what I meant. We do need basic laws and regulations, or people will run over each other. I just think that "Law Makers" tend to over-step their Power and Authority. We need to have enough lead way, in our own decision making, so that we have to deal with the consequences (good and bad), so we can Learn from our mistakes and successes. Without Learned Lessons, we'd be hard pressed to understand the difference between Good and Bad... and therefore, find a better understanding of God, and appreciate His Guidance.

Rom 1:32 seems duplicitous with regard to "approval" and physical "participation". Then read Eze 33 about warning the wicked absent which we are as guilty as the "perpetrators", guilty together with them. Then read Rom 2:1-3 even IF we speak out, judge, but accept and condone absent of any sanction, albeit social, just like the one not speaking out at all, we are guilty with them. Persecute, no, correct and sanction socially, have to. Not negotiable.

Remember we have several points to come from.
The first important one is American country sought God's authority and said we need to let the author of life be our guide.
Many nations other Israel had leaders who later changed their countries paths of being ruled by those other than people seeking God's authority.
Even Israel went a stray because God himself was leading their nation and they wanted a king like the other nations around them.
The creation of America was because a majority of people who took upon the long trip across the "pond" and ventured about and wanted to be separated from the Kings Authority and have their own place to worship. But it was pushed back by the King and demanded they pay taxes and other goods be sent back to the King without properly being awarded fairly. These men were highly educated, highly skilled, and religion played a major role in their daily lives. Other nations were Godless and godlessness played a majority of their rules to rule.
When you had a country brand new as America was, they saw a need to separate and without the help of other foreign countries who gave arms and military assistance, they fought for their rights to be a country to have freedom from, freedom of, and allow themselves to be seekers of the Gospel vs being controlled by a king and worked up together to become the United States. Of course there was issues and growing pains but the focus was Godly vs after thought like countries before.
There is a huge difference between a country seeking Godlessness vs a country whose purpose was to be ruled by Godly principles from the Gospel.

In Old Testament culture, there were age groups for vows. You could not go to war until after you were 20 years old [Numbers 1:3]. If you cannot keep a vow, which the age group of 20-60 could keep, you cannot live on your own [Leviticus 27:1-7].

What I do not fully understand is what good does it do if the government and society at large is morally more good, in accordance with the biblical definition, if they are not saved? I do not understand this...Jesus said that His kingdom is not of this World/Age, for had it been His followers would fight for Him...we are to preach the Gospel and make disciples of Christ...I do not understand how we benefit this goal by doing battle in the political arena..my thoughts, and my conscience on the matter...blessings from Sweden here 😊👍😊

And if there is Anything that tries to come between that relationship with Him, then ~ Mathew 19:29 ... And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for the sake of My name will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. ~ Berean Study Bible ✝📖🔎
