I did notice a drop in the comedy in favor of the art. Assuming you are looking for a new balance Gavin?. TBH it's you character that makes your videos work, whether you're leaning toward comedy or education makes no difference
Are you guys really friends outside of RUclips? Reason I ask is that my friends never comment on my videos.... they just tell me how unwatchable they are in person 😐
I recently returned home from an early morning "shoot", one of many. My wife made the comment that I must really love photography to get out of bed at such insane hours "Just to take photos". After a little contemplation, I realized that love had nothing to do with it (anymore at least). I honestly believe that photography is my drug of choice. I am truly addicted to it !!! BTW, nice photos Gavin.
The power of turning around. Awesome shot(s). Great video, i always love your style, educational and naturally funny, don’t ever change. It’s what sets you apart
I love the manic comedy Fototripper vlogs, but I also really appreciate this more subdued style. I especially liked the calm way of mentioning the desert silence. Well done Gavin.
This was a video I enjoyed trezmendously! I live in No. California, and I love the desert, so finding new locations that are not that far from home (that I never knew about!) Gets me really excited! I loved your final product photos - they are amazing Gavin!
Great video! I was in Valley of Fire a few years ago, and after watching this, I wish I had seen it then! I didn't wait for the light to even out, and most of my photos have blown out elements. Looking forward to another visit!
I just went to Valley of Fire for the first time, really beautiful place! I had to rewatch your videos now that I have a better idea of the place - cheers
Fantastic images! I did love that sun star. It's a good think you did look behind you. That sure looks like an amazing place. Thanks for sharing. Tell Uncle Grumpy I said hi :)
You and Uncle are the true hero's of the F4 squad. Well done for sticking it out and not running to the hotel 👍🏻 'propa' photographer. Also I spotted Amanda behind that rock. Do I get a prize? 😎
Sometimes the clouds to the east can be even better than those to the west at sunset. Like you, though, I have to get over my fixations and turn my head around. Thanks for the vid.
I totally get the silence thing being almost deafening. It's not a great feeling is it. Yet another great vlog . Thanks for keeping me on the level during these testing times . Moving house within the next month . Already checked it out photography wise . End of my new garden is the Warwickshire Avon , an old mill . Also wildlife and a weir pool. Feeling my photography is on the up .
I can totally relate to hot during the day, cold at night. I was born in the Mojave Desert and Joshua Tree, and when I was young we had a large floor heater for the cold nights. I tripped one time burning my hands pretty badly. Great images and video.
Fantastic as usual Fototripper. Hey feel free to post as many videos as possible, being locked in we need the entertainment not to mention the photo knowhow.
Very nice presentation Gavin. I'm putting the Valley of Fire on my (long) list of places to visit. I loved all the photos, especially the last one. Keep up the good work. By the way, isn't it time for your blonde nemesis to make another appearance?
I am trying to find my groove to get back out to shooting after a tough 2 years. I love getting the alert when you post new content and with every vlog I want to get out there more often. Thank you and gorgeous images. PS Always keep looking around you. 😊😊😊😊
Incredible shots there Gavin. Haven't been into the Valley of Fire yet but spent a couple of weeks in the Kofa Wilderness Area just south of Quartzite a few months ago. Know what you mean about the silence. It's deafening- you can almost hear the cactus growing! Marvelous video. Thanks
I know exactly what you mean. You camp out on a composition too long and don't realize that the scene behind you is much better and then you chase that light. Great video, Gavin. I really need to try to get out there. A geologist/landscape photographer's dream. Looks like a lot of cool abstract compositions too.
Gotta get out there before that blue hour burn. Recently was out in Death Valley, and had woke at 2am to hope for some milky way rising time-lapse into sunrise. With two cameras doing time-lapse sequences over the mud cracks, around 5am or so a couple groups and their instructors parked and made their way out to the cracks, but they had missed the early burn. By the time they made it out to the cracks the clouds had shifted and ruined sunrise. Am sure they got some decent long exposures or black and whites. Maybe even some intimate shots. Spoke with some of the people and they were just happy to have finally seen the cracks. Was happy for them, an didn't bother telling them they had missed some yummy color. But I did feel bad they had missed it. Wanted to tell them, wake a bit earlier, and get there! The moral of the story, had they got out earlier at twilight, they would have been there from blue hour to golden hour, and increased the chance to get the shot. Good video man. :D And love that final image.
My experience is the rigorous preparation and composition hunting can make a great photograph, but the last minute panic of a changing light makes magic.
Your opening 60 Secs should form the basis for the 'Poem of the Landscape Photographer...' bootiful & so true.. Love the vlog & have to say some supurb pics... nice one...
Lovely shot you got in the end. I have had many hurried compositions like that in my years, always keep an eye on your behind.... esp if uncle grumpy is around LOL. Another cracking video.
Uncle Grumpy looked cool with his Happy Monday’s style sunnies on. I feel a psychedelic 90’s video coming on. Great final image Gavin. Will we see Adam’s pictures in one of his videos I guess.
I used to love the silence but tinnitus rears it’s ugly head when I’m in the wilderness. Too much clubbing in my younger years so the ENT specialist said, but it doesn’t stop me getting out there as it feeds the soul. Let’s hope I can still get to Vancouver Island this summer. My daughter’s University trip to the Canadian Rockies and Vancouver looks like it’s about to be cancelled as she’s going in 2 weeks. 2 weeks is a long time with all that’s going on in the world right now.
I love those precarious tripod perches! I've informed my wife that I'm most likely to go out by being eaten by a cougar or stepping backward off an edge like that.
Being up for Sunrise was something I did when rallying. I like my pit too much these days, but I still look for Sunsets. You must always "he's behind you" 😂.
Again an awesome video Gavin! I caught myself too many times to be too fixated on the things in front of me and I missed through that some really good photographic opportunities, it's something I also need to learn
Nice Vlog. I have to say I like these kind of vlogs more, where there are less roleplaying and silliness. Humor is best, when it comes in small doses, more naturally and less forced. I loved the intro of this vlog. Very well done!
Amazing end results Gavin! So much fun watching you and UG wondering about. By the way, I am traveling from Las Vegas to Springdale on Monday and have added the Valley of Fire Hwy detour to my route. Probably going to be there for 0900 which may still be early enough... Here is hoping!
Hey gavin when I was in the Sahara at night with just my guide , I experienced the tyle of silence you talk about and for me it was such an amazing and in someway a spiritual experience for me so much so I have been trying to have that experience again. Great video as always.
That was very watchable Gavin and dare I say, educational. You're right about the silence in the desert, just love it.
I do aim to be watchable I do.

@@keddy6live Well said.
@@fototripper great video Gavin. I love the chuckle sketches too but to mix it up with videos like these... perfect balance my friend.

AMEN TO THAT BROTHER! Fötögrafē is no doubt, my drug of choice!
The power of turning around. Awesome shot(s). Great video, i always love your style, educational and naturally funny, don’t ever change. It’s what sets you apart
I like that first image. My favorites always are when they are sharp without overdone contrast. It is perfect.
Your guys really nailed the compositions - nice scouting - you made it fun Gavin, and beautiful.
the light was a pile of Kanye West!! Brilliant!! You and Grumpy should have your own Tv show Gavin.
I love the manic comedy Fototripper vlogs, but I also really appreciate this more subdued style. I especially liked the calm way of mentioning the desert silence. Well done Gavin.
Don't worry. Silliness will resume soon.
You got some great light Gavin another great video love your work 🙏👍

Thanks for a really interesting and enjoyable vlog and lovely photos.
Wife and I were there last year, simply beautiful. If you've never been, you need to hit Sedona. The Red rock and Buttes are amazing.
As always great photos Gavin.
Another great video Gavin. Stunning colours!!
Another stunning virtual trip. Thanks guys.
Man, I am addicted to your videos! Can't you just upload one every day? That would be nice. Your photos are awesome! Thank you for your inspiration!

Love the videos, thanks
Nice vlog, thanks Gavin!
You got some good keepers, love the shots.... thanks
Another great fototripper adventure. THX!
The last photo was lovely and if that same light would have fallen on the mountains of the first shot, it would have been awesome.
Yah that was the hope, let's see what morning brings ;)
@@fototripper yes 👍
Magnificent landscapes. Sooo spoiled for choice.

Both shots are amazing but that second one is phenomenal
Very juicy landscapes. 🤣
Beautiful stuff sir!
"Check your Six". Looking behind sure paid off Gavin. Great vlog as usual and the last "look behind image" amazing. Happy shooting. Dave
"the light, was an absolute pile of Kanye West"
2x you made me LOL for real
the first time was the coffee tasting

A serious, for yourself, classy photoshoot! I would love that silence. Adam, love the giggs! What a location! 12:40! Wow 🤩 classic Gavin! Thank you

Great content Gavin, and always a lot of fun!
Both educational and fun to watch as usual. Nice one mate :)
Wish I had stopped at the Valley of Fire on my way back to LV last year. Oh well. I'll just have to look at your lovely photos.
Great video I was there this March found a great shot with the Milkyway.
DAAAAMN. EVERY word you said in the first 1:09, is EXACTLY how I FEEL, EVERY DAY! That was some MEAN shooting you pulled off! 🤙🏾
