    Just passing through on my journey to watch every Federer match.

    To remind you, before that match Coria was on a great winning streak on clay, he had won 31 of clay matches in a row. Roger ended that streak like he did against Nadal's 81 wins in a row on clay in 2007 at exactly the same place (Hamburg).
    As of Roger's game, in that match it was simply the most "clay game" I have ever seen in him. His sliding and movement on clay was just brilliant in that match. He could see that he is capable of winning Roland Garros someday. Finally he did it in 2009.

    Watch 2006/2007 TMC, Roger's movement was superb both years during the Masters Cup, probably cause it was indoors, but his movement was amazing.

    i cant even imagine what kinda player federer would b if he had his movement from those days with the wisdom and new shots he has today

    The 2004 Forehand making some serious damage!
    By far the best Federer's year. Tremendous Forehand. Tremendous Speed and great variety of game!

    It's not that the screen is widened - he actually was super fast in this match, especially with his clay movement.

  • @andyauger
    @andyauger 13 лет назад

    @yianpap He is definitely very fast, but part of it is an illusion since the video image is stretched out. The course looks super wide as well.

  • @miltyu97
    @miltyu97 16 лет назад

    Wonderful!
    Go to 3:15 and study that shot (if you are interested in tweaking your forehand).

    @Ojstra curiosamente las 2 rachas fueron cortadas por federer y las 2 en hamburgo seguramente era donde mejor jugaba

    why did he lose so early at the french that year? Haven't seen that match against guga, but with this kind of tennis you would think guga wouldn't stand a chance right?

    @JohnJuanUnited What are you talking about? Tell me where can I check a video of Federer being arrogant.. please.

  • @Eternalover78
    @Eternalover78 13 лет назад

    @contactafc10 Yeah, unfortunately he was not comfortable enough with French Open courts, especially the Chatrier

    The real king of clay

  • @3timeMVPNash
    @3timeMVPNash 13 лет назад

    @martinr345345 That wasn't arrogance. He and many others were pissed off that Delpo got to take 15 seconds to challenge a call when he wasn't allowed to challenge after 5.

  • @flagman57
    @flagman57 13 лет назад

    @pocketsearch he also could have done an over head if he had backed up a little.

    Actually, kigga may have a point in that fed's sliding here is not as smooth as it would eventually become. Carefully watching the point starting at 1:29, there are several incidences where fed's footing looks a bit unsteady. Roger himself said that he had trouble with his footing on clay back in his earlier years prior to 2005, despite having grown up on clay.

    Whatever happened to Coria?? He was so good for awhile and then choked away the French Open and he just went away.. Too bad, he was a great player!

  • @yianpap

  • @sagrocket

    fuck..look at federer's forehand..tremendous raquet head acceleration..and hes like jumpin and drivin on every forehand shot.....i bet federer felt light as a bird at this time of his career

  • @Lindethiel

    Fed all over this court like a fucking snake in the desert.

  • @millionairejh

    the shadow on the court looks terrible, i guess they quickly changed that

  • @sofiaa4182
    @sofiaa4182 11 лет назад

    you can see that federer on excellent form lost a set on clay, that means his technique should have been modified (only on clay, of course) to be more efficient. and not doing that costed himto loose all the grand slam matches he had against nadal

  • @sofiaa4182
    @sofiaa4182 11 лет назад

    masterclass my ass, he lost a set and in total 15 games, thats three less games than a match, and he "dominated" coria

  • @VerdascoFan
    @VerdascoFan 14 лет назад

    stupid video....It only shows fed's winners not coria's. You are just trying to make it look like fed dominated him. He didn't; there are two sides to every match. SHow them both or esle your missing half of the battle.
