  • This video compares the mean deviation (mean absolute deviation) to the standard deviation using Microsoft Excel. Both the mean deviation and the standard deviation are measures of dispersion.

    this really clarifies the difference between the standard and mean deviation. I like that the video explains the need and use of both.

    I found this video to be very informative. It definitely cleared up the difference between the mean deviation and standard deviation, and they seem the be fairly easy to calculate using Excel. I can appreciate that the video used terms and explanations that were easy for me to understand.

    I find it interesting how some similar functions that you have to conduct in SPSS you can do in Excel and I think it is explain in a pretty easy way to understand.
