The Trichur district can rightfully claim pre-eminence above all its neighbours in the state of Kerala for its abundance of famous temples. Over and above there are many cultural and spiritual Chathan Seva Madom is well known for a variety of reasons. It was established by the famous Konnacharya. Who was initiated into spiritual and vedic studies in his early days by the Naga saints and Rishies of North India. In the evening of his life, Konnacharya wanted his vast fund of spiritual knowledge and study to be made available to the people of Kerala at his own birth place Konnacharya succeeded in bringing his Upasana Murthi Bhagavan Chathan to his birthplace and in establishing the premises of his house at Peringottukara near Thrissur. Pilgrims to Kanady Madom, situated Peringottukara about 20 k.m from Trichur, should alight at the Trichur Railway station if they travel by train. The Trichur municipal bus stand is not far off from Trichur Railway station. From Thrissur Vadakke bus stand can reach by road by buses plying via Trichur-Palakkal-Ammadam/Kodannur/Alappad-Thriprayar at a fare of Rs.12/- to Peringottukara near a Vayanashala bus stop and a about ½ Km walk
Southwards will take the pilgrims to the eastern gates or from Municipal Bus stand by buses playing via.Ammadam / Pallipuram - Alappadu- Thriprayar at a fare of Rs.12/- to Vayanashala Stop, only 2 furlong walk distance. On the main road itself prominent signboards are erected to guide the pilgrims where a century old full-grown banyan tree in thick growth surrounded by stonewall can be seen. At the western gate very old Pala tree also can be seen. It would be advisable to reach the Chathan temple before 12 noon if the pilgrim intends to do worship the very same day of his arrival.
