“Darkness will only rise when we let it. Ye shall be cursed if you find yourself in thou darkness’s grip, for only the wise and kind and brave may slip through it’s fingers” -Saint Nicholas, 6 A.D
I think what makes this very tragic, is that Frodo and Sam continue on without ever knowing that Gandalf returned. They see him once again in their dying moments at Mount Doom, breaking the clouds with the sun on his side upon giant eagles, almost a metaphor for their last dying breath. They reawaken like Gandalf, in the company of friends.
Yeah man, as the audience I think you never really realize it that way - maybe they actually should have said something on Mt Doom to illustrate that to the viewers, could have made it even more heart breaking.
Dear @slowfi9338, this track is your only LOTR Slowed not available on RUclips Music - can you possibly make it work somehow? music.ruclips.net/p/PLK38JUnltadcPKIsURfg4FJgORlwSJLwe. Thank you for your efforts!

Not in the books
Fly you fools. 😢
I always come back to this one. I don't think there is any other track softer than the lament for Gandalf, slowed down.
Even though Gandalf does come back in the other movies, i still cry to this song seeing sam and pippin crying
wow, that no tho 😳
Haunting but good.
perfection
just when it couldn't get any deeper, Gandalf hit tartarus
Please do The Passing of Théoden! ;)
Yes, please - it's one of the standout pieces of the soundtrack. Same as "The Eagles" from Return of the King
