Does it send your XLR mic to the PS5? Like game/party chat? I have a GoXLR and wanting something new, but with the GoXLR having a Line I/O makes this possible
So actually…YES!!!!!! B/C the Streamer X doesn’t require any drivers and is plug and play, the PS5 recognizes it. I use my 2nd USB port to run to the PS5 and then in the settings for the PS5, I select the Streamer X as the mic! Works like a charm!
@@waltjennette oh this sounds awesome, less wires, makes me happy. As right now I have a Elgato Capture Card, and have to use a USB sound card to input the mic for game chat. With this I can get rid of the sound card and the capture card. Thanks
A very interesting product presentation, but I have two questions. 1. If I connect PS5 to 2 USBC, will it read the microphone and headphones? 2. If I set the microphone with noise gates, reverbs, etc. in the UNIFY application, will the microphone settings be saved on Streamer X when I run PS5 without the UNIFY application?
That was the issue with the Streamer X. To answer your 1st question, yes and no. You wouldn't need it to read the headphones because you're monitoring through the Streamer X. The 2nd question is where it's supposed to be yes and it would save but sometimes it wouldn't.
Appreciate the help, I just bought the Streamer X it comes in tomorrow. Really just want to use my XLR mic for party chat and recording. Is that possible?
Hi Walter, great video! Do you know if I would be able to connect the streamer x to an xbox series x and a macbook pro to run a stream? I’d like to have the functionality of using my iems and xlr mic on console while still being able to stream to twitch, kick, etc.
This the second time watching this from last time might be my fourth. Now it makes sense because I’m not fooling around with 4 K streams last year. It makes sense now. I would have split the signal coming out of PS5 it would have saved the headache. Then we all want to utilize every port the device provides. It’s cool people would get it. Nice Vid.
do you have a walkthrough on how it's all hooked up? PS5 to Streamer X to PC and all that, also can you use the streamer X to mute stream chat or game/party chat? obviously i can mute game/party chat on the controller, but can i also mute the stream chat so i have 2 audio channels that i can switch when chatting specifically to stream?
Got everything working, i can hear the game audio, but can’t hear the other person I’m playing. I’m using ecamm as my streaming software. Trying to figure that out. Let me know if you have any ideas what the issue could be. Thanks
So I think I was able to figure this out later after I made this video. You can do 1 of 2 things…you can actually run the Streamer X into the PS5 as a 2nd USB and the PS5 will recognize it as a USB mic. Then you can change your chat settings on the PS5 to go back through that source but make sure you customize your mix minus settings on the 2nd USB in Unify! Or…you can run a cable from the controller into the headset port on the streamer X and enable that channel in your assignments in the Unify software so you can control your chat on a separate “fader”
Walter do you still recommend the atem vs this and a hdmi switch just asking going back and forth between the two the output i want is 1080p/i with a upscaler/mister for gamecube and n64 and ps2/1 and sega master and dreamcast sorry for wall of text but any info can help i subbed because of the info
Thanks for the sub! In your case, I would stick to the Atem unless you don't mind buying an additional switcher. Me personally, I don't like adding a bunch of peripherals in between sources. So If you can go straight from a console to the capture device, you're going to get the best performance that way.
So is this why my recordings with the Rode pod mic USB sound so quiet when I play them back? Do I need the streamerX to get full use of the mic because right now, it's plugged in directly to my PS5? It works, don't get me wrong, but when I record videos, my voice sounds super quiet. Do I need a computer to use the StreamerX, and do I need an XLR cable?
It's weird because i was able to use the rode streamer x with a 1440p monitor and recorded some xbox series x gameplay , I'll try with the ps5 tomorrow!
@@waltjennette I figured out that Panasonics have bad hdmi latency so I used an audio loopback software to add a delay to the audio and it synced up. Just made a video about it
Ok great. I was just about to say, I haven’t experienced that with my Sony on the streamer X so far. But I would add 3 ms of delay in Ecamm live to sync when I would run through the cam link and Rodecaster pro 2 separately
I’m having issues, so I recently got the rodecaster duo and connected everything fine but after a few minutes I get this weird feedback/ echo that’s just irritating. Do you know how or if there’s anyway to fix this?

@haies09 Right! It’s definitely a gamechanger
This was a BIG help, thank you. I think it's nonsense that the pass through doesn't down scale. well done RODE! I'll give you an A for effort.

The Streamer X only takes in one HDMI input, correct? Can't be used for camera AND console at the same time?
That’s correct. HDMI In and then HDMI Out (pass through )
Good stuff because this is the setup i'm going with next year ...PS5 to StreamerX and i'll make sure to get a 4k Monitor
Definitely make sure to do that if you want to take advantage of the 4K!

@wiideathmodtv you’re welcome
this is why i got the elgato capture card or avemedia capture for me i use a elgato hd 60 pro 1080p and a elgato 4k 60 pro mk.2
Yeah, I got rid of my Streamer X.

1440 works without issue. It just won’t record in 4K without a 4K monitor. That’s all.
