The ending made me close my phone just to laugh for a solid minute 😂 I thought Paper Moon King would be pretty unimportant after a while, but damn... that really cemented it's place as on eof my favourite stands
I got done reading JoJolion.. and i gotta say, i did not expect the finale to have as much death as it did. Especially since Vitamin C and Ozone Baby didnt kill one person, i really thought there wouldn't be many meaningful deaths. I almost have to wonder if maybe Araki felt pressured to just kill off his characters like that. If Joshu had died in Damo arc, and Rai in Ozone Baby arc i feel like the deaths would've been more meaningful. I really enjoyed the bittersweet conclusion to the story, but it really didn't hit me that characters died until later, especially because of the brutal injuries that characters have shrugged off up until the finale. Pretty solid, very enjoyable part. I rate it a 8.5 out of 10.
I love this review of all the arcs and totally agree the intro arc about the mystery of Josuke's origins is some of Araki's best writing!! I do think that although the Aphex twins are a bit forgettable, the hand-to-hand combat choreography is SOO CLEAN
I have noticed something in Jojolion and Steel ball run Spoilers btw During the final fight of the protagonist against the antagonist there would be a character to die before the protagonist defeats the main antagonist which was Rai in Jojolion and Hot pants in steel ball and it would be just glossed over which I very disliked because I really liked both characters but they would just die instantly and just put aside. And with hot pants I didn’t even noticed she died until I finished steel ball. It’s really disappointing that it’s liked that but still both great parts.
Yeah. People really glorifies SBR even with having so many flaws. I was really disappointed who Sandman died in the most boring arc possible because I loved him as a character. Same for Mountain Tim and Weakapipo. Also I didn't like Au Dio at all. Dude just popped out of thin air, stole the corps an d defeated Johnny so easily. Would've been so amazing if there was final fight between Hot pants and Johnny.
@@punusername3445 hot pants was never a ally. She teamed up with Diego because she had now idea how D4C worked and Diego needed Hot pants to disguise him as a valantine clone. She also tried to save herself by killing Johnny and Gyro on Civil war arc.
Great vid! Every point seems really well thought out, and I found myself relating to a lot of your feelings about how Jojolion was handled (both the good and the bad)
papermoon king arc was problematic but it made me love yasuho even more. Idk being a girl I just related to her a lot in that chapter and I think tserugi's attitude and actions could all come down to him just being an immature child who doesn't understand fully understand his wrong-doings (ive not read jojolion in a while tho lol)
I do get what youre saying, but Im personally absolutely exhausted of Araki's sexual assault characters, bits and chapters. It happens to much with lucy in SBR, then Daiya and Josuke are weird, then Yasuho _thrice_ . It's just a lot. And they feel played off for laughs and shock value which just makes me feel weird. It's a shame too cause Paper Moon King is a dope stand, and Tsurugi grows on me insanely quick when he loses the weird tendencies. And I don't understand why we can't just have Tsurugi start off like that if it's not important to his character in the slightest
THAT'S THE THING! Paper Moon King was very interesting, and watching Yasuho lose it, while sad, also showcased some of her own doubts about herself which is very important character growth. But she got sexually assaulted _3 separate times_ and while I understand how a scene like that can sometimes work if youre showing off darker parts of society, NONE OF IT WAS NECESSARY. Almost played off for shock value. Infuriating honestly. Also, the Higashikatas flipping between ally and enemy is very weird and feels kind of rushed, but given this is the part 4 parallel, it's not all that surprising@@docilelikewintercatfish
Still my favorite part I think it would benefit the most from being animated. Steel ball run is perfect and I would like to watch it but I’m worried they would mess it up or lose it’s charm. JoJolion would be perfect for an anime though especially with how colorful it could be and so many scenes would be great played out in motion. JoJolion is a story about curses and Milagro man is supposed to enforce that and show how they work and that even if you did nothing wrong an act of someone else can be passed down to you and punish you and that’s how curses work they don’t discriminate
the milagro man is peak worldbuilding icl. confirms the idea that stands aren’t just life energy, but they can be formed of any energy. curses can manifest as stands, misfortune aka calamity can manifest as a stand (as we see later). we see spin manifest as a stand in the form of ball breaker, and this potentially explains why the stand of Jonathan’s body was the exact same as Joseph’s hermit purple. in the new universe hamon isn’t a thing, so we see hermit purple with a humanoid form at the end which is a huge difference. I personally believe hermit purple & the stand of Jonathan’s body are manifestations of hamon energy. I also believe that ball breaker and potentially tusk are manifestations of spin energy. and as wonder of u is seemingly omnipresent and doesn’t require its user to exist, I’d argue it’s a manifestation of calamity energy similar to that weird robot with blade arms. jojolion is so interesting and presents so many potentially series reshaping ideas.
The best thing about Dr. Woo is that he is somewhat right, he was helping people, even tho he was using them too, and he seems to be more interested in scientific research than obtaining power and land for rock people. Oh and he is an incredible creep too, very unselfaware. My personal favorite arcs in no particular order: Born This Way (very atmospheric and complex with satisfying conclusion that actually moves plot forward), first Fun Fun Fun arc (super creepy and atmospheric, and with such a complicated and only occasionally useful stand), Stag Beatles Fight (best non-direct stand user combat in the series IMO), Vitamin C and the ending for the first part of Jojolion and generally WoU arcs, with their strongest and weakest aspects. Least favorite: Shakedown Road (too long and not much happens), I Am Rock (not bad but the fight itself isn't that impressive), Poor Tom (I just don't like the character and his stand), the fight with Urban Gorilla (feels like discount Giaccio with small tank).
My God. I didn't know Jojolion fans can be this toxic for someone having an opinion For me, my most favorite arcs are 1. Born this way 2. Vitamin C 3. Shakedown road My least favourites are 1. Radio Gaga 2. I'm a rock 3. Dolomite's blue lagoon Solid ranking bro. Really liked your choices.
and milagro mran arc is the way araki defines what is calamity and what is miracle, both are two sides of the same coins. one can''t exist without the other. getting money for doing nothing is a miracle, yet a curse. and joshu "break" the curse that affect himself
I like most of your comments on this part, but some of your complaints don't really consider narrative purpose. Every other stand was described as underused, but if they had been used further than they were needed in the story, they would have overstayed their welcome imo
Idk how any parts were boring even during the “Bad” arcs I loved reading it all the character were unique and their stands were really cool and the complex set up I think matches up with the story, its confusing because the characters are always confused themselves Jojolion is my favorite part because I love the setting too every thing is a character with its own story even arcs like Fun Fun Fun and Blue Hawaii were fun to read for me
Definitely the best arc, Vitamin C kickstarts the intense body horror of Jojolion that I really like. I love Hato getting her time to shine, and cmon, strutting sideways up a wall? And proceeding to kill a man with your heels alone?? I dont think I have to explain how cool that was. And meanwhile the backstory being revealed. Usually I dislike when something important like that is put in the middle of another arc, but the fact I didnt mind and quite enjoyed it this time speaks volumes of Vitamin C and Walking Heart's chapters. And of course, Kira and Josefumi. Heartbreaking, I wish we got more of them, together or separate. Jojo isnt a series where I ship many characters or seek for fanart or other fanwork of the characters, but Jojolion has such good pairings and I'm gonna be honest, Kira and Josefumi is one of them
1. What cake would u choose from the ending 2. If they make part 8 into the anime people won't like tsurugi 3.favorite chapter not arc just chapter 4. I thought it was incest because what day was doing but I do think it is because jouske is kinda like family idk 5.favorite fight mine the fight between the beetles 6. Favorite part mine is jojolion 7.smash or pass these characters 8. I showed my mom yotsuyu an she said is that a woman 9.rocky best side character even though he did nothing but look adorable 💓🐗
I think the thing that makes Daiya not so bad to me is that the situation felt more like a playful game to me. Daiya intentionally explains how her stand works and also shows Josuke her weakness. If she had really wanted to control Josuke as an enemy she could've kept quiet and Josuke wouldn't have been able to do get his memories back. Well, other than try beating it out of her, which Josuke clearly didn't want to do, which shows that the fight is more low-stakes. That's the difference between her and Tsurigi to me since Tsuruigi was perfectly fine with Yasuho getting into horrible traumatizing situations outside the confines of "a game" and even "beats" Yasuho and leads to Yotsuya assaulting her too.
I’m rereading Jojolion now and I come back to this video to say that you are totally correct with the Papermoon Deception arc, it was so much WORSE than I remembered I can’t help but hate Tsurugi oh my God he’s so weird and gross
If you completely ignore that first arc, Tsurugi is just a normal kid, with a cool stand, who sometimes helps out in the story. He also has an interesting subplot of having to deal with the curse, and you get to see the psichological consequences it has on him at times. He also kickstarts the entire rokakaka search. And serves the interesting role of explaining some of the Higashikata family history, especially with Jobin. Perfect character. But then Araki has him harassing Yasuho for NO REASON! Seriously! It's only this arc! It's not important to his character! It just makes him weird, and makes me feel bad!
The third quarter of this part was one of the most miserable trudges I’ve had the displeasure of reading through. I actually had to look up a video summary until I got to the wonder of U arc.
aisho is as interesting as the damo group. you just need to remember "oh, he's that bad luck rock human that somehow create a way for our protagonists progress through the story"
7:22 Bruh that's like, only 3 years apart lol. Your parents probably have a larger age gap, idk why people fixate so much on fictional characters' ages when the gap isn't nearly as gross as other cases you've seen within this series
You do know some people have 15 year difference and youre definitely gonna disagree with a 18 year attracted to a 3 year but not a 45 year old attracted to a 30 year old
@@coolnuggeti was interested in the video but unfortunately stopped at 8:17 because your points boiled down to too much subjectivity. Yes the Tsurugi and Daiya scenes were super uncomfortable and awkward. But that’s the part of what makes something art is, no? To provoke a reaction and make you feel something. Also who cares if the guy who passed the curse onto Joshu wasn’t a bad guy? Not everyone in the story who’s an antagonist needs to be one. He still needed to get rid of the curse and that’s how he found a solution. The arc not having a defined and designated bad guy is pretty cool. Curses work like that, after all. Should Araki only ever have the protagonist and their allies be morally good and the antagonists morally bad? That’s what makes a story interesting. That it’s nuanced and complex. Anyway, i know it’s subjective and it is your list after all. I was just hoping for more objective reasons as to why you didn’t like certain arcs. Some positivity here and there would have been nice as well. I do agree Tsurugi could have been punished somehow though
I think part of the issue is that you didn't watch the entire video (which is ok) but of course I will be more negative on my least favorite arcs. My issue with Daiya and Tsurugi is that Araki wants us to seemingly forgive them. I don't like seeing assault scenes that culminate in nothing happening to the assaulter
@@coolnugget that’s fair and reasonable. I’m sure i’ll watch the whole video next time it’s recommended to me. Yeah Araki’s never done much to make his previous antagonists show remorse. Even with Okuyasu when he attacks and nearly killed Josuke. Sure he was following his brother’s orders but he never really apologized. And i love Okuyasu. @@coolnugget The Arc is a good example of what can happen to someone you care about if you don't show that care appropriately. Tsurugi ended up causing Yasuho a lot of pain because of his actions, despite having an attachment to her. The events of the arc expose this side of Tsurugi. Being a child, and the son of another of the parts antagonistic forces, it should be somewhat expected he would behave this way. Fortunately for us, the readers, Yasuho is not a flesh and blood human. The injustices she suffered can be examined through a critical lense as no one was actually hurt.
@@kylejoly577my only problem with Paper moon king is just that... there was no reason for yasuho to get harassed three times. Especially by Tsurugi, who completely loses these weird tendencies starting in Doobie Wah. I do think there is a lot added with Paper Moon King arc. It fleshes out Yasuho's character as her self doubt rises, and shows Tsurugi's faults yet his desire to be better. And the stand itself is cool, and surprisingly useful. There is just no reason to having this many sexual assault scenes. And it's never fully clear _why_ Tsurugi is enabling all this? In I Am a Rock, Tsurugi has real reasons to be an antagonistical force of sorts, but here it just feels like he's being a bad person with no deeper meaning

You know, a late introduction can work, but if you are gonna do it that way, you better make up for it. Tooru left me disappointed, and maybe if he was better, I would honestly think part 8 would be considered the best part. I know, bold statement considering the monster that was part 7, yet part 8 showed us a lot of this new universe and most of the stands are great. Also, Gappy is my favorite protagonist and Soft & Wet is by far my favorite stand in all JoJos.
Thing about Tooru is that Wonder of U is just Tooru true self made manifest, without his "normal" persona. Thus, anything Wonder of U does is what Tooru does and means, which for me makes Tooru a much better villain.
@@LoloswaghettoYes. And by the end he even stops making WoU referring at himself like it’s own person since the guys had already discovered his identity. In the end, all of WoU good interactions was already Tooru doing his thing. And I like that very much.
What made Tooru good for me was his interactions with Yasuho. It really showed how flawed the rock humans were and how the humans can stand above them. In that sense, and through the characterization of his stand, Tooru is kind of the ultimate expression of the rock humans
@@emblemblade9245 It isn’t even true, cus through the part we saw rock humans having actual relationships with others, either biological, friendships or even romances. I agree with your statement at certain point, the Yasuho backstory with Tooru is bone-chilling since we know he was there ever since she was a child, but Araki didn’t took advantage of that, which is honestly despairing, like seriously Yasuho was the protagonist of the worst arcs in JoJolion, and that’s unfair cus her stand is nuts, and personally, I like her more than Koichi.

Loved the video man
I have noticed something in Jojolion and Steel ball run
Spoilers btw
During the final fight of the protagonist against the antagonist there would be a character to die before the protagonist defeats the main antagonist which was Rai in Jojolion and Hot pants in steel ball and it would be just glossed over which I very disliked because I really liked both characters but they would just die instantly and just put aside. And with hot pants I didn’t even noticed she died until I finished steel ball. It’s really disappointing that it’s liked that but still both great parts.
I mean, Gyro died before Johnny could truly defeat Valentine too
@@docilelikewintercatfish in what- Hot Pants wasn't a enemy? do you know that? how would it be better than how it is now if they had a fight?
@@punusername3445 still 100 times better then Au Dio
@@punusername3445 hot pants was never a ally. She teamed up with Diego because she had now idea how D4C worked and Diego needed Hot pants to disguise him as a valantine clone.

I actually thought this was a pretty good ranking, also in the Blue Hawaii Fight im pretty sure only one "zombie" exists at a time.
And I don't understand why we can't just have Tsurugi start off like that if it's not important to his character in the slightest
paper moon king arc was very funny to read also it was a good introdction to the i am a rock arc imo
Not when Yasuho getting assaulted for no reason at all lol
Amazing video dude! I agreed with all of your rankings. Subbed
Would love to see you go back and rank the rest of the parts too tbh. More jojo content is always good jojo content 👌
I disagree with so many stuff but good job on the video
great first pick and a lot of really great reasonings. really good video overall and i do hope to see one on sbr in the future.
Dude the Aphex Twins were designed like genuine Araki background characters 😂
Ojiro returns is the best arc in the entire franchise
Hot take lol
Nah Milagro Man. Joshu shoulda beat Tooru at the end
Joshu supremacy
the milagro man is peak worldbuilding icl. confirms the idea that stands aren’t just life energy, but they can be formed of any energy. curses can manifest as stands, misfortune aka calamity can manifest as a stand (as we see later). we see spin manifest as a stand in the form of ball breaker, and this potentially explains why the stand of Jonathan’s body was the exact same as Joseph’s hermit purple. in the new universe hamon isn’t a thing, so we see hermit purple with a humanoid form at the end which is a huge difference.
Josuke was affected by paper moon king...joshu and others looking the same...your misconception confuses on jojolion
I like doobie wah, the a phex twins, and ojiro returns, actually.
My God. I didn't know Jojolion fans can be this toxic for someone having an opinion
For me, my most favorite arcs are
1. Born this way
2. Vitamin C
3. Shakedown road
My least favourites are
1. Radio Gaga
2. I'm a rock
3. Dolomite's blue lagoon

The Ys music out of nowhere really caught me off guard, good tastes man
Araki is just in the mood when he draw those smexy scene
and milagro mran arc is the way araki defines what is calamity and what is miracle, both are two sides of the same coins. one can''t exist without the other. getting money for doing nothing is a miracle, yet a curse. and joshu "break" the curse that affect himself
I like most of your comments on this part, but some of your complaints don't really consider narrative purpose. Every other stand was described as underused, but if they had been used further than they were needed in the story, they would have overstayed their welcome imo
Nice video
Beetle Battle is PEAK 🪲
Good video👍
Idk how any parts were boring even during the “Bad” arcs I loved reading it all the character were unique and their stands were really cool and the complex set up I think matches up with the story, its confusing because the characters are always confused themselves Jojolion is my favorite part because I love the setting too every thing is a character with its own story even arcs like Fun Fun Fun and Blue Hawaii were fun to read for me
All of them, I love all of them
Definitely the best arc, Vitamin C kickstarts the intense body horror of Jojolion that I really like.

9.rocky best side character even though he did nothing but look adorable 💓🐗
Ngl I forgot that Dayia was blind💀
The third quarter of this part was one of the most miserable trudges I’ve had the displeasure of reading through. I actually had to look up a video summary until I got to the wonder of U arc.

7:22 Bruh that's like, only 3 years apart lol. Your parents probably have a larger age gap, idk why people fixate so much on fictional characters' ages when the gap isn't nearly as gross as other cases you've seen within this series
A 19 year old (who is being essentially hypnotized) and a 16 year old cannot consent. The maturity difference is the issue there.
You do know some people have 15 year difference and youre definitely gonna disagree with a 18 year attracted to a 3 year but not a 45 year old attracted to a 30 year old
Too much nitpicking and not actual critique
I admit I did some nitpicking but I but I felt like I had actual criticisms (weak villain, weak deaths, annoying characters)
At least Rohan got savagely beaten up and there’s still beef between him and Josuke

You don't understand the Paper Moon King Arc. Turned it off after that.
Please explain to me what was interesting to read about yasuho being injured, drugged, and sexually assaulted multiple times

@hermeslucci2890 that kid is bizzare..its a bizzare adventure...try to understand the way it is...
I think my biggest problem with JoJolion as a whole is Tooru. Man… is he supposed to be scary? He is goofy, and ironically his stand takes a lot of personality away from him.
Fuck Tooru. Head doctor the real final villain
I wish the ending was good. Jojolion was looking to be amazing but it just completely falls apart like 2/3's of the way through.
