    So many geniuses in this world have been lost to the winds because of their location, social status, circumstance. All children deserve and have a right to an education. So many more known geniuses in the world would help us advance into a better society with greater speed.

    • @vk2ig
      @vk2ig 3 года назад +93

      Agree. The education systems in many countries need revision so that these people are not lost.
      The other thing wrong with many education systems is the assumption that all children develop their learning at the same pace. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have seen kids who failed a year at school, just because their minds weren't ready at the time, who were given a second chance and turned out to be brilliant students.

      What I find more disturbing in the year 2020 is what Google says: How many girls don't go to school? According to UNESCO, there are an estimated 130 MILLION girls between the ages of 6 and 17 out of school. 15 million primary school-aged girls will likely never enter a classroom in their lifetime. (And they will raise more children.)

Imagine using 1/1687.5th of a second using in their time system and basic unit of time called lipa which is 0.4 seconds to the calculations older than the age of this universe. Pyramids are one thing but Kailasha temple is another the sheer amount of stone that scooped out of the temple complex can put together to build a structure bigger than pyramids and yeah they have less degradation than pyramid overtime.

    There was literally nothing theoretical or abstract within the original Cambridge mathematical tripos: it was basically a mammoth exercise in rote learning, and garnered a young graduate huge social and later professional prestige, no matter their eventual field, if they topped that year’s examination results’ roster, thus gaining the title of “Senior Wrangler;” which is how people like later Prof. Bertrand Russel ended up taking that particular course, then moving to logic, and eventually finding world fame as a philosopher of the mind.
    Though Russell was home schooled, anyway, it was universally common for those embarking on this mammoth endeavour, who had the means, to employ a private tutor in their task: such as the man who authored this volume.

Or simple directly as the original question and use another account to answer yourself wrongly, that way, others will jump in on an opportunity to correct someone else and feel superior.....
      And this actually works better than just asking the question normally

    How about doing one about S N Bose's letter to Einstein in which he presented his particle-based derivation of Planck's radiation equation?
    Also, I read somewhere that Einstein had a little priority quarrel with someone about E=mc^2, with a couple of angry letters being exchanged. Perhaps you could look at that as well.

    you mentioned that Ramanujan could see the developmental equations in his mind. I seem to remember that when Tesla was working up a new generator design, Tesla could see the magnetic fields inside the generator whirling about.
    is it possible that geniuses all have greater powers of visualization, which greatly aids their conception of new things ?

    I find it good to also give credits to the author of such books, as books are kind of a "snapshot" of a teacher! Without any kind of "guidance" like a book it is soooo hard to learn such complex things.

    Western mathematics writings have followed the proof method as in Euclid's Elements. Eastern mathematics don't follow that. Indian and Chinese Mathematician have had different approach: study of methods rather than theorem proving. Ramanujan was self-taught so he didn't have the influence of theorem proving system. He was unique.

      Ancient Greek mathematics and geometry looks very method-based in comparison to modern mathematics. Greek geometry relied on using a compass and a ruler to construct different shapes, and Greek mathematics was entirely based on crude estimation, which they used to calculate square roots, figure out the area under a conic section, and solve systems of equations. Even though what we have left from them might seem very orderly because of how it's presented in treatises that have survived till the present, it's actually very disorganized and loosely built up. Even many of the findings of modern mathematics, like Leibniz's calculus and most of Euler's findings on algebra and number theory, were at first discovered as the result of playing around with numbers and then generalizing for all possible cases.
      Western mathematicians' task since then has been to provide rigorous foundations for what their predecessors discovered.
