    The XR-Rec Trim Single Backmount Set offers perfect trim adjustment, helping the Extended Range diver find the perfect trim required for technical diving.
    Divers can now easily adjust their set to create a custom fit and perfect their buoyancy in minutes.
    The redesigned aluminium back plate (with a 'skeleton' design) reduces excess weight, making it ideal for travel. In addition, its volume has been reduced by 40% compared to the previous version, contributing to improved stability and trim.
    Two tank straps are attached to the tank adapter. Stainless steel screws make adjusting the tank adapter safe and easy.To improve comfort when diving, Mares has included a soft back panel, padding in the lower back area and removable shoulder padding.
    Two aluminium D-rings on the waist strap allow for stage tanks to be attached. The stainless steel belt buckle has a silver ceramic coating, making it extremely durable.
    Mares has made the shoulder straps independent of the waist belt to make customising the XR-Rec Trim quick and easy.
    The XR-REC Trim is available in four colour options: black, white, blue and aqua.
    The main features of the XR-Rec Trim Single Backmount Set are:
    • A 17 litre, 1000D Cordura, single backmount bladder
    • The lower part of the bladder is longer compared to traditional bladders for greater buoyancy in the lower back area
    • Ergonomic overpressure valve placement facilitates use in all diving positions
    • Quick waist strap adjustment - a quick and easy solution for achieving the ideal trim
    • Buckles on both shoulder straps
    • Independent shoulder and waist straps for quick, easy adjustment
    • Padded shoulder straps for extra comfort
    • An adjustable crotch strap with 2 back plate attachments for improved comfort and stability
    • An inflator with metal buttons
    • A 3 mm aluminium back plate with 'skeleton' design
    • A 3 mm aluminium single tank adapter
    • 6 mm aluminium D-rings
    • 2 tank straps
    • Ultra lightweight, weighing only 2.8kg

    Thanx for this video. I'm thinking of transitioning over to this in the future.

    I like it. its slim light weight and the plate looks pretty cool. I mean innovation is what scuba needs. Too busy staying pidgoned hole in an idea. Not saying this is innovating. Just visually appealing. this along with other types of new wing setups are great for introducing new divers. The look and setup reminds me of another Manufacturer "XDEEP" and I know a few who stand behind that product. But keeping this short. Great review/

      Glad you liked the review allandelapa5863. Innovation is always met with criticism in this industry.

    Well demonstrated. Not for me, I still like the simplicity of a single-piece harness and I've never suffered any crotch chafing. But I can see the appeal for some customers.

      Hello timgosling6189, the generic response we have received from our staff, and I echo it as well is, the bladder is the part that no one really likes. The adjustable harness tends to be a favorite of most of our salvage team here as it makes it very easy for them to don and doff it, especially while wearing drysuits. I recently purchased the new SSI version, and removed the bladder (replaced it with the standard 22lb XR bladder), and swapped out the harness as well. The adjustable harness I put on my salvage rig, and the single peice was added to the the XR Rec Trim. Its nothing more than a simple spare for me now.

    I am surprised that the cam bands don't go behind the backplate as well. Would it be possible to put them through the backplate as well for added safety?

      Hello @M.M.M.M.M890, this particular model does not have any slots in the bladder to thread the cam straps.

    It is just a waste of material...Thank you for the review in anyway! There is no transition between rec and tech it is one way or the other...When the bladder has no inner bladder just do not buy it. And the crotch strap is just not useful. The silver XR was cool! But by the end of the day, it is backplate and bladder... what could you do wrong?Obviously quite some things 😀

      Hello markusleitner3735, thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. I would have to refer you to Mares directly to hear their thoughts on why they produced this specific model.

    Is the plate suitable for doubles?

      @LakeHickoryScuba  4 месяца назад

      Hello @yaniskes, the plate itself, yes. You would of course need a different wing.

    No mention of dump valves?

    • @timgosling6189
      @timgosling6189 Год назад +2

      Via the inflator K-valve and on the left hip. No shoulder pull-dump.

    • @LakeHickoryScuba
      @LakeHickoryScuba  Год назад +1

      Hello douglasljdunn, the Mares XR Rec Trim comes with a standard K- Inflator, with a kidney dump on the lower portion of the bladder.

    The tank adaptor is clearly on it. What is this guy talking about?

    • @LakeHickoryScuba
      @LakeHickoryScuba  Год назад +1

      Hello C Dub, great question. The single XR Bladders have a built in tank adapter, unlike the XR Rec Trim system featured in this video. So for the standard XR systems, the Single Tank Adapter is not needed.
