This always plays in frozen mines... And judging by the amount of frozen tears I found in these floors, many people explored it while listening to this song, before me.
This music is quite sad compared to the rest of the tracks for the mines... It makes you remember that the mines are dangerous, and that maybe some people didn't come out...
It's so amazing, everything ConcernedApe and Chucklefish did. Sometimes you can forget that miracles do happen, and then a game like this comes along, and it's just.. unbelievable how two people built something this beautiful. ❤❤❤
I don't even know why I am writing this but I am going through a really rough stuff in my life right now and just cried like a baby to this song in the mines. overall this game is such a warm place where i can rest for a second and forget about everything. Thank you for making this amazing game concerned ape
Hey man, I hope you’ve been holding up pretty well. I’m right there with you. Stuff goes on in life, nothing stays. It’s sad, yet beautiful. I think you will see the beauty, not just the bad very soon. So really, I hope you’re doing alright for yourself, good luck :)
This song makes me both sad and happy. I started playing this game back in July 2021 a couple days after my Mom passed and a friend recommended it to me help calm me down this just reminds me of my Mom which I love.
Concerned ape is really the greatest game designer of all time imo. He is so diverse in his talents and motivated. He spent years making a game entirely by himself with essentially no help and without making a dime until his hard work paid off and he could finally publish it
I declared my love to the boy that I liked while we played together at Stardew Valley, we were in this area of the mines and this song sounded. Every time I listen to this song, I start crying.
Had this stuck in my head for way too many months and had no idea where it was from! Once I started playing Stardew Valley again, it clicked :) Such a good song. Best one in the mines.
Listen, does anyone else feel like a kid again playing Stardew Valley? I'm a kid of the 90's. Grew up with A Link to the Past, Earthbound, Sim City SNES, Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger, etc. Playing Stardew Valley returns the joy of being in 5th grade again, dying to get home, get a cold glass of iced sweet tea, and sit and play Nintendo for a while.
I walked down the aisle to this beautiful song ❤️ Thank you ConcernedApe for making such an amazing game and soundtrack that have become a huge part of my life
This track is wonderful. It tells me about the cold and loneliness (both under the mines and yes, I was playing the game alone), but at the same time gives me a heart-warming feeling, like someone out there is probably waiting for me to return, to meet them and to hug each other in the cold of winter.
First time I heard this I froze (no joke intended) it always seems to bring up some sort of calm yet sorrowful feeling and I always look forward to it in the mines. :')
If y’all love this song (and I know I do) there’s a game called Feel the Snow which is like a simpler, more fun version of Don’t Starve. It’s set in sort of a fantastical snowy wasteland and you play as a snow person whose village has been destroyed by evil spirits. It’s entire OST is like this, and it really captures the feel of a desolate snowy area full of dangers really well.
This track weirdly gives me vibes of hope and relief. Like, a feeling of safety from the cold and danger that would otherwise surround you. Think of a baby being held by parents.
It feels like it's an introspective moment late at night when you're safe from the monsters and you think about your family back at home. You eat one of the snacks your spouse made for you and smile. "Just a bit deeper, then I'll go home"
For some reason this song reminds me of the grieving process. Such sadness at the core, but as time goes on, the sadness of the loss remains and yet there is room for new discovery of happiness and joy on top of it all. Never forgetting but still living on.
also sounds like me in a few years crying while remembering the countless hours on stardew valley, from happily harvesting crops to having a breakdown from dying on level 97 in the caverns
I always go into this section of the mines just to get frozen tears for my husband Sebastian I kinda like to think of this song as a representation of his feelings as a seemingly unfavored child in his household, and how he just wants to be loved despite his cold exterior. (laugh. I did a funny.) then again it does make me cry :'D
Anyone else just feel like this song ties onto someone in your family? Every time I hear this I think of my Grandpa. He died late 2015 and this makes me remember him for some reason.
The beginning of this song reminds me of L'Amour Toujurs of Gigi D'Agostino. It was a famous disco song in europe in 1999. So not only is this song sad, but it makes me think about my youth.
@@Andrepolt1255 Indeed, ConcernedApe is a single individual. Maybe I phrased it wrong three years ago, more like they're both published by Chucklefish (who I think also developed Starbound).
I've only ever played stardew valley with my ex since she was the one who got it for me. That means the only memories I have on the game are the ones with her so it's pretty much impossible for me to play the game on my own now and I can't find anyone else to play it with. All that to say that listening to this music brings instant tears to my eyes and makes my heart ache so incredibly much
I can't believe I commented this 2 months ago already????? Anyways, I found a friend to play the game with and it removed the uncomfortable feeling I had playing the game. So I started my own solo save and I almost restored the community center! I missed that game so damn much
Heard this playing in the mines and immediately had to find out what song it was. Its my first time playing this game and honestly, its a relief. With everything going on in my life lately this was exactly what I needed to escape reality.
through the many tears we have shed listening to this amazing song we know that we must continue our decent deeper into the mine to react the end and find the treasure that lies at the bottom
Every time I hear this song I'm reminded of the first person I ever truly loved and how while my love for them was unlike anything before, me opening up to them led to the downfall of our entire friendship.
Cloth is actually a rather great title for a track like this. Really brings forth some associations. Something you would need to equip down there, and in the wintery setting to keep warm and comfortable. Perhaps a small rippage of cloth you've found on the ground, having been someone else's a long time ago; maybe someone who got hurt and got it torn up there, maybe someone who took mortal damage. Maybe one of the Skeletons you fight, before they turned into the undead. Good stuff.
"Dear Theodosia, what to say to you? You have my eyes, you have your mother's name..." I hear it every time man. It only makes the song more sentimental.
This is on par with C418! The fact that specific vibrations of the air hitting out eardrums can create something this beautiful, is yet another glimpse into the beauty this world can offer

Makes sense, since there are ghosts in the mines..
There are lost bags too
And it also reminds you of the monsters you killed.

This song makes me incredibly happy and sad at the same time. It'd be the perfect theme for if this game had some kind of ending.
