CAT 933C steering clutches and brake replacement part 2

Thank you for taking the time to make this video series. You provided a lot of detail. I just purchased a 1984 catd3 for my camp. I came to realize that the right brake is controlling steering and not the clutch. It makes a bad metal on metal sound when you are light on the pedal and locks the track under pressure. I'm assuming the brake band material is gone.
Can the break band be replaced without pulling the entire steering assembly

You are mistaken, there is 16 quarts of torque force in each side & 14 quarts in center box, they are not dry

So the drain on the bottom shouldn’t have any oil come out at all correct?

Yes each side contains 16 quarts of torque force fluid.
