I'm taking Introduction to Statistics online this summer, and I'm trying to work ahead but the instructor forgot to upload her version of this tutorial. I emailed her to let her know, but this video allowed me to keep working without having to wait. So.... thank you!
Thank you for this video! Everyone else makes their videos so long but yours was straight to the point and very easy! I won't be sleeping tonight, WISH ME LUCK ON MY STATISTICS FINAL!
Looks so easy! But my calculator (Ti-84 plus) has a different screen in InvNorm. It has area, mean, standard distribution, paste. It looks different. Do you have advice if i just want to type in the decimal and get z-score calculation? Thanks!
Thanks so much for replying. I guess I’m totally lost. I can find Z-value by subtracting the mean from x and dividing by standard deviation, and I get Z. Then I cant look up that Z in a table because I won’t have a table on the test, so I can’t find probability that way, which is my goal.
@@geoycs If you are given a value of x and the mean, mu, and standard deviation, sigma, and are asked to find the z-score, then you simply find (x-mu)/sigma which gives the z-score by definition. You can do this by hand or by calculator, but make sure to put in the parentheses if you are using your calculator and to do the subtraction first if doing it by hand. This formula does not require a normal distribution. If instead, you are asked to find a probability for a normal distribution and are given x, mu, and sigma, then you use the normalcdf function in your calculator.
This is about finding z given a probability. Probabilities cannot be negative. If you want to find z given a negative value (or positine value) of x given a mean mu and standard deviation sigma, you plug it into the simple formula z = (x - mu)/sigma. You do not need a fancy calculator.
Mine looks nothing like this. I press invNorm and then it asks me a whole bunch of questions and lists a whole bunch of extra numbers and it doesn't let me just put it in like in EVERY TUTORIAL BECAUSE APPARENTLY IM THE ONLY DUMBASS WITH THIS CALCULATOR.
Unfortunately, there are a few versions of the TI 84 calculator. I wish the company changed the name of the calculator when they changed the version. I am sure there are other videos that go over it using your version.
There are two versions of the TI84. With the other one, you have to use invnorm(Low,high, mean, standard deviation) even for the standard normal distribution.
It is possible that you have the newer version of the TI 84. With the new version, you have to include the mean and standard deviation, which are 0 and 1 in this case.
i love videos that start with the sentence "this is a video"

Why isn’t this just what teachers show in class? Thanks man you a life saver

Short and sweet! Thank you so much for explaining it in a way that did not make it feel so complicated that I wanted to cry!
THANK YOU SO MUCH.. such a simple thing jeez, it took me forever to find a quick explanation. Thaaaank you
i cant thank you enough, this is exactly what I needed
Dude you’re a god, you helped me so much thank you.
Thanks for making this video! This helps out a lot. My homework is due tomorrow morning so I won't be sleeping tonight.
i have an exam in an hour i owe you my life. THANK YOU!!
yo why did m teacher make this sooooo complicated lol XD now I learned in like less than a min.... THANK YOU SO MUUUCH
Much thanks for you Calculations Xavier 2.0 , my conundrum has been solved
Thank you so much. This might just save me in an exercise tomorrow
Saved my life. Thank you.

For the newer TI84+ calculator, you need to enter 0 for the mean and 1 for the standard deviation. The area is the given probability.

@@geoycs I keep getting error.
@@larrygreen7328 It says error domain
I get something completely different when I press 2nd => VARS => Enter
I get a list of things and at the top it says invnorm, can anyone help
Can you do an example for a negative number?
How do I find the z score of a negative number?

does anyone know how to do the inverse of this on a calculator??
You the goat larry
Thank you so much

My calculator keeps saying error
The newer versions require 0 and 1 inputted when using the standard normal: invnorm(0,1,0.025)
did not work on my calc oh well

The number has to be a decimal -.- just bombed an exam because mine kept saying error 💔
why does my calculator keep saying error?
What worked for me was using the ^ button and clearing the previous answers
does it still say error?
Super late, but possibly using the subtract button rather than negative sign
The # has to be a decimal
Ikr it keeps saying infinity sign ♾️♾️😂😂😅

This is so wrong
How?
